On Netflix also that happens. For example the day when the season 2 of stranger things was out, all the fans at that day was watching, talking, and tweeting about. It doesn't need to be at the same moment.
I'm working for a telco, analyzing the future of TV. What she offers are solid arguments but what she fails to mention is that the "comfort" that Live TV offers is a generation-locked thing. Nor Gen Z, nor Millenials have these routines she mentions. The second is access and streaming of live content - OTT services are investing hard on winning the exclusivity of their content on their side. Also, what we see now how Content Platform owners like Netflix are creating their own content which is never-to-be-accessed by broadcasters. Sure Live TV will remain to some degree, but I believe its viewership-share and revenues will diminish considerably in the following 10 years.
ahh everything she said made me want to cringe, john Lewis adverts, reminders of going to bed, wanting to be reminded of Christmas, feel like I need a shower.
people that say tv is dead are forgetting radio it was said to be dead but it still with us today tv has more to offer so i believe it will be around for a long while yet
a brilliant video with excellent insights! Such videos deserve a much higher view number! Thanks TEDx and Liz!
