This song was all over AM radio back then. Such a great magical time.. God bless George McCrae!! What a wonderful voice he has. I also didn't know Howie Casey from "KC and the Sunshine band wrote it! Yeh! KC said the they couldn't sing it because the range was too high for them. They wanted his wife to sing it but she couldn't make the session. George did and the rest is history 😍😍✝✝☮☮🙏🏼🙏🏼
Yes, fabulous voice, but I suspected lip-sync from the beginning cuz it was TOO perfect; no one can hold the same falsetto key 40/50 years later! Sure enough, he messes up badly with the lip sync a few times starting at 2:58.

I couldn’t understand why I was being searched .. police everywhere ! people running.Yes it was a beautiful night with George MaCrae.Little did I know Birmingham was under attack ! 2 pubs ( I used often ) was blown up.I had a lovely evening watching my idol but it also turned out absolutely tragic.RIP to all lost that night.Thank you George MaCrae for making my night so lovely disregarding mayhem not far x

I went to see George MaCrae 21st November 1974.I was on a second date.He was absolutely phenomenal but ! I couldn’t understand why I was being searched .. police everywhere ! people running.Yes it was a beautiful night with George MaCrae.Little did I know Birmingham was under attack ! 2 pubs ( I used often ) was blown up.I had a lovely evening watching my idol but it also turned out absolutely tragic.RIP to all lost that night.Thank you George MaCrae for making my night so lovely disregarding mayhem not far x
