Very nice! Best thing about your videos is the fact you add all the supplies (including how much of each you'll need, when appropriate) in the description. Thank you.
Perfect timing! I am in the process of making 4 gingerbread men/women and a gingerbread cat based on your last video. Now I will just add the LED lights! Thank you for doing these videos!!!
I’m so happy that I could help, would love to see pics of them when you are finished. I can always be reached on my DIY Facebook page, just search Isaac Alexander DIY
Gingerbread is such a classic and timeless Christmas symbol. Another fantastic Christmas tutorial choice, Isaac! This project has a nostalgic feel to it for sure! I love the creative touches you’ve added to the traditional gingerbread man, especially the buttons covered with foam beads and the expanding foam smile. 🙂 That smile looks so much like real icing! The warm white LED strip light is an excellent addition as well. Speaking of his Christmas display, Clark W. Griswold says to Cousin Eddie, “I hope it enhances your holiday spirit.” Each of your projects has certainly enhanced my holiday spirit this year, bro! 🎄 Thanks for making each one so reproducible and attainable for us less talented, more common folks. 😉
I am so glad I found your channel. I do all big stuff in my yard and that’s exactly what you do, I love it. I have been looking on RUclips for big Christmas diys for outdoors and finally I found it. Thank you
Love your work. There's a family not far from me that decks out their yard too for Christmas. This year they have all their Decor under black tarps. Can't wait for the unveiling
I used my Dremel and cut a trench in the back of both legs 2 1/2 feet long and 1 inch deep. Used wood glue to set the PVC pipe and then -painted over it. You can't even see them unless you are close to the back. Having 2 anchors makes it really stable and you don't have to worry about the wind blowing it sideways.
Cool I made ur other gingerbread men on ur older tutorial now I can just go add led lights to them, don’t know I didn’t think of that lol. Love ur videos u explain it so well and make it look easy
I love it, I love it!!!! I've got to try my hand at making this. I think I want a gingerbread family of three. Can't wait to see them on my front lawn. Thank you so much for sharing this adorable Christmas project. Merry Christmas.
Saw your previous tutorial first but so glad I saw this update before I bought supplies! These are fantastic tutorials - thank you so much! I am going to attach my Gingerbread man to the stone on my house (above the garage). Am intending to use extreme outdoor velcro - any tips or warnings?
I’m glad you saw the update! I’m glad you love them. That’s a great idea that you’re attaching it to the house. I’ve actually never worked with that before. How do you plan to attach the Velcro to the stone? Is there an adhesive on the backing?
#SWOON Such a handsome man! I'll never be tired of telling you that! LOL Your ideas are always so fun and varied ... It's nice that you have so many options and ways you can personalize your projects even more! Now, you just need to figure out how to get the iconic gingerbread scent! #SWOON #hubbahubba #sohandsome #GreatSport #thosearms
I appreciate this tremendously. Thank you again for this. I would love to see how your projects came out if you’d like to send them to me on Facebook. Search Isaac Alexander DIY and you could send it there
Will you show us sometimes how you hook up the power at the end of your projects? Also, do you have videos that explain when you should start adding more power where needed?
Here’s a question: when you cut the rope for the outer perimeter, what do you do to the ends to keep it from fraying? (Well, it’s already frayed because you cut it, so how do you finish it to look good?)
My wife and I are are trying to make these and are wondering what would you think if we went with a smaller thickness for our gingerbread? like a half inch or 1 inch?
I’m glad you are trying to make these. Though they can be made using 1 inch or half an inch, the problem is durability and rigidity. If you plan to have them displayed in the yard like I have them, they could easily break in the wind or stormy weather. But yes, they can be made using smaller foam board
Looks great; is the LED power adaptor an outside unit - I was looking at these lights and that is my only concern (being in Canada with minus 20 temps as the norm among other weather concerns
How do you get the full foam board home intact? I don’t have a pickup truck and delivery isn’t a viable option because shipping itself is nearly double the price of the board. I could probably break it apart at the store and glue it back together at home
You’re asking me how I get this home? I mean, you need a pickup truck… don’t you have any friends with a pick up truck? Don’t break it apart at the store, it’s not gonna be the same thing when you glue it back together
I bought those lights for the candy canes and they are great. I will buy more to add to the gingerbread we made as well from your other video. Quick question though... did you do anything to shelter or protect the charging battery connector from rain or snow. I read in the Amazon description that the lights are water proof but not the actual cord/battery pack. I figure your recommendation would be better then what I could think of as you are truly an amazing DIY-er.
I’m so glad you made them. I never covered any of the connections, they remained outside in the elements uncovered. That being said, I think I simply forgot to cover them and that’s why they remain uncovered. I am actually putting them in a waterproof box this time around because I don’t want to chance it
They turned out very nice. We put them up today and got a bunch of compliments already. A waterproof box? Can you add the link, please. I had no idea they sell those. I was going to use Siran Wrap or a small toppaware container...LOL.
If you have foam board that has paper then you have the wrong foam board. That is not insulation foam board and will not work well because it is too flimsy and too thin
@@IsaacAlexanderDIY I asked this above but this question might go to you directly here: when you cut the rope for the perimeter, how do you finish it so that it doesn’t look frayed? Thanks so much for this tutorial!
Isaac: Thank You for these vids! newcomer BUT already ADORE these- You've Calm way of sharing. (we're recovering from Hurricane Ian here in FL... So your vids are ASMR: not crazy loud backgrounds). Please keep vids coming! 1 question + 1 idea: • So the expanding foam's works better? (holding PVC in place for rebar) rather than the Loctite construction adhesive? •(Doug Casey beat me to the "punch"!) leftover foam board appears to be enough, to construct Perhaps a Gingerbread Dog🐕?(buddy 😘).... Thank you so much for this awesome comment. Y’all took a beating down there in Florida from that hurricane, I hope you and your family are all safe and good. I prefer expanding foam as an adhesive because of its expanding qualities. It holds onto more surface versus what construction adhesive would do. And since it’s only used on the back of the Gingerbread, it can expand without being an eyesore. I actually really like the idea of a gingerbread dog, you may have sparked my imagination and now I may have to create one! Merry Christmas 😊

I would use the expandfoam for around the edge that looks like icing, color if desired. Much cheaper than rope too.
Nice
I love how you made the buttons. I'm curious how the colored rope held up to the elements. I had some run in the rain and stained what was under it.
I really want to make this for this year. I wonder if a hot knife might work as well as the jigsaw on the foam. What do you think?
Wow 🤩. This is amazing. Can you do a giant cupcake or anything candy land related? Thank you.

Here’s a question: when you cut the rope for the outer perimeter, what do you do to the ends to keep it from fraying? (Well, it’s already frayed because you cut it, so how do you finish it to look good?)
I live in Texas, I'm the owner of Sawyer's Santa Land, and I'm wondering how durable is the foam board in the elements?
What did you use for cutting the board ?
A jigsaw
My wife and I are are trying to make these and are wondering what would you think if we went with a smaller thickness for our gingerbread? like a half inch or 1 inch?

Led gingerbread was made this year
Looks great; is the LED power adaptor an outside unit - I was looking at these lights and that is my only concern (being in Canada with minus 20 temps as the norm among other weather concerns
That’s a good question, I have never covered them but now that I think about it, they should be covered or at least in a waterproof container
Whats your take on making these out of styrofoam vs plywood
I’ve never made it from either material, I’ve only used foam board and it’s easier and more versatile
How do you get the full foam board home intact? I don’t have a pickup truck and delivery isn’t a viable option because shipping itself is nearly double the price of the board. I could probably break it apart at the store and glue it back together at home

Question: does it matter what kind of 4x8 by 2 inch board one gets? The Green Guard isn’t available here, but I assume that it doesn’t really matter.
Correct it doesn’t matter, as long as it’s 2 inches thick then you should be fine with the green one, pink one, white one or other colors

That foam board is over $60! Is there any cheaper material you could use instead?
That foam board makes 2 gingerbread, so that’s 30$ per gingerbread
You don't make animatronic christmas decorations no more
