Very happy as a young Richmond fan to see Royce get his respect to me our greatest ever player or at least up there and an amazing big game player. He elevated us in some huge games in the finals and helped us win 4 flags. A legend of a player and a great leader who was the a perfect example of a big game player who lifted for his team when they needed him most.
Dusty is the 🐐 had the greatest individual season of all time in 2017 and is the best finals player ever if u value peak over longevity dusty is the GOAT
The rise of Dusty coincided with me being able to watch any game I wanted up here in the USA. Even though I am a Carlton supporter I became a fan of Dusty. I really thought he was going to be the best ever and y'all guys would always say no he's not going to be the best. Y'all were right but those GFs were spectacular.
He's definitely in contention for the best finals player ever and is the only player in the AFL to have 3 norms from 3 flags so the conversation is there and will undoubtedly be an AFL immortal.
No one in this comment section was born and most likely there parents weren’t born either, with no TV either so it’s pointless when comparing to more modern achievements that have video evidence
Has to be the most overrated player ever. Don’t get me wrong, has proven to be a great big game player, but as far as whole seasons go he’s only had 2 great seasons in 16 and 17, and he plays zero defence. He’s the type of guy that in his prime was an amazing addition to an already loaded midfield, but he’s not a leader and you could never build a young team around him like guys like Cripps, Steele, Oliver etc that give it their all on offence and defence.
@@bobbutter911as a Richmond fan this is accurate I love him but he's the ultimate front runner he will play amazing when the teams playing amazing but can't carry the team. He's a guy that puts a great team over the top and not a guy who can make an average team great.
@@jaydenmackay9303 agreed, would not have gone well for him or the team if he left the Tigers and went to the Kangas or Gold Coast. He just isn’t the type of guy you can build around.
@@bobbutter911 ur arguments are based on hypotheticals and give me 1 reason why u can’t build a team around him the way I see it cripps, Steele and Oliver are accumulators who don’t have big scoreboard impact they are not the guys who win u flags it’s the guys who kick goals
Dusty is not in the top 10. Purely a finals player. Only decent home and away season was 2017 when he won that brownlow. Even then Dangerfield (who had many votes taken from him by his star teammates) was a better player then him that year. But yeah, in the finals, Dusty was unstoppable. Quite freakish.
The thing is ..... With the knowledge of sports science, training methods, diet, tactics, full time professionalism etc; players have never been fitter, bigger, faster, stronger. There are no longer weak links in any team or club, even the players who don't make the match day squad are exceptional talents. Yet, under those conditions, Dusty has found a way, in the biggest games, at the most important times, to elevate his game, and separate himself from others, to deliver victories for his team
Wanganeeen was so special, did it for 2 clubs to, playing back and forward

Impressive how this show throws out repeat segments after repeat segments
Stay tuned, best no 5s next week 😅
Well, it is part of the show.

Kernahan was made captain in his second season, not the first, at Carlton.
Surprised that Lloydy didn't bring out a round 4 game where he kicked a bag. I'm sure he would've if he did. Maybe next week.
Bill Duckworth 22 was my favourite player as a young kid.
Alan Didak was No. 4 for Collingwood? Great player
Everybody knows the answer is "Jack Watts"

I reckon Dusty might just crack the top 10 ever. A once in a decade performer
Love Wanganeen.
Are we seriously ignoring Collingwood's 4 premierships in a row in the late 20s to early 30s (1927-1930). How could this have been overlooked?
No one in this comment section was born and most likely there parents weren’t born either, with no TV either so it’s pointless when comparing to more modern achievements that have video evidence
Very easily because the competition was incredibly weak back then and only 4 (yes you heard that right) teams of the 12 at the time could play Finals.
Are we seriously ignoring Collingwood --------, sorry, stopped reading there......, but the answer is YES.
You are on RUclips my friend. if there was footage of these great premierships then they might get a mention
Bias that's the first thing pies 4 flags
If I reporter I couldn't help buy laugh at bomber Thompson....how's life now

Bob Davis

THE BONT??????????????????????????????????
Dustin Martin, and in 2017, wasn't even top ten for that current league. Horrendously overrated.
You’re braindead

"purely a finals player" lol
That's not the diss you seem to think it is.
Dangerfield doesn’t perform in big games and is a terrible kick all he does is just throw it on the boot
