I love my Marocchi but you are absolutely correct about the price point, John. Most people will have to take a leap of faith to choose a Marocchi over a Browning or Beretta.
People are usually buying guns primarily with resale in mind, which I find bonkers! Fit and feel should be everything, looks and reliability second and resale last
Did you ever do a shooting review of this gun? If not, could you please do one, as I'm really interested to see how it compares to more mainstream sporters.
Finally a review on the marocchi evo in English!! I love all your gun reviews and couldn’t wait for this one as I was thinking of either this or a 690 Black for my next gun and I kind of think you’ve maybe guided me more towards the beretta 690
the 690 is the safe choice, but we did take this for a shoot on the weekend, and it was very sweet indeed. More character than the 690, but that's not always a good thing
I’m testing out a 30yo 682 supersport this weekend thinking that sort of gun is a thing of the past. Maybe I should hang on for one of these to come up for the full 90s experience …
This looks like they took a look at a 1994 catalog and remembered they made the Conquista sporting gun... They then found a bunch of stock sets from one of their other guns from that era, added an adjustable comb, thicker pad, and put it on the marker after a few too many drinks...
Dan I have one of these, but would say that the wood on mine has diffrent lazer engraving. The version I have has both an adjustable comb and butt. I like the feel of the shotgun and Im getting on well with it. I also have a browning ultra xs both are great shotguns but my go to gun is the Evo now. It would be great to see the video of it being shot an a review after. I would also like to see you shoot the version with the adjustable pull. could you also show ejector removal as I'm struggling with this compared to the 525.
I made the mistake of buying TWO Marocchi Model 99 O/U shotguns back about 15 years ago. Fabulously made guns, no doubt. I shoot them better than I shoot my Perazzi MX8, so why do I say I made a mistake? Here's why. Just try to get ANYTHING such as firing pins or locking blocks, which if you shoot a lot, have to be replaced every so often, here in the United States. If you're buying a shotgun to shoot 1000 times per year or less, by all means, buy a Marocchi. They are nice. If you're going to shoot skeet, trap or sporting clays, you better think about where and how you're going to get parts replaced here in the U.S.
We can do, any particular variant. We have a 525 in depth video out, that will cover a lot on the internal aspects as they are rather identical inside.
Thanks - it would be great to have an expert such as yourself talk us through the way that the B25 design has evolved since the 1920s, the rather complex and confusing system of grades. And also explain why they are so light...
I shot one at the NSS early in the year and found it wanting against its competitors. I also find it odd that TSK would make a stock for a gun that's so rough. In Italy do they sell different versions on the same actions?
Andrew Anderson more than likely the owner of Marocchi and the owner of TSK had a tonne of beers and made a deal some time! Not sure what they offer in Italy I’m afraid. I can find out if you like. I think it is wanting for a nicer grade of wood, I think (if Guerini is anything to go by) this would make people over look the plain action design
Gerald Swain seem to have stepped up a notch. I have spent enough time fixing their 40 year old crap, that I hated this thing before I saw it. It grew on me a bit
John I want your advice! Basically I’m looking for an international skeet shotgun but I’m on a tight budget, I would like to know if you have any option beside the DT11 or Perrazi? Many thanks

Sorry! Misread it as a trap gun you were looking for, but Zoli makes skeet versions and i´m pretty sure you can have a Salvinelli made to your exact specifications, and still cheaper than Beretta and Perazzi.

Love the evo looks but how easy are the spares to get and how long guarantee

The bretta silver pigeon 686 ajustable is only £150 more what one would you buy

Thanks for another great video. Would you be willing to do an in depth video about the ins and outs of the Browning B25?

What do you think about Marocchi for beginners
I like to join the shooting range and I looking for my first shotgun
Thank you
Why did they discontinue the EVO ?
Why are guns so much more expensive in the UK?
I had this in my hands, this exact model, for 2100$ cdn (+15% sales tax).
Import tax, greedy distributors

Great! Can you make a review on Franchi Feeling O/U?
if i can get a hold of one
Hi John, good review again, they are obviously a far cry from what they made in the 70s early 80s they were bloody dreadful.
Gerald Swain seem to have stepped up a notch. I have spent enough time fixing their 40 year old crap, that I hated this thing before I saw it. It grew on me a bit
Nice review :-)
Jonny any chance of doing a review on their budget sporter the zero 3?
I can see if we can get our hands on one!

What specs are you after on your skeet gun?
