Hey there TheFPVnoobtube, thanks for this video.. i just got a Falcon 180.. and it required a bunch of work just to get it where it should have been in the begining, once i got everything working i realized i needed to address the I6 and Acro/Angle/Horizon/Arming .. your video explained it all clearly thanks!
VERY HELPFUL,nearly sliced myself up tonight at home of course being a newbie with a wizard left the pr0ps on the Vbuttons caught me out and drone came spinnig towards me now after the info you left the transmitter is now set up correctly NICE ONE john in england /these are killing machines not toys/treat them with the uttermost respect
only one problem /when arm the quad the motors run as soon as i move any stick on the tx it starts to accelerate gradually to full throttle and i have to disarm it/any ideas, regards john
Just the information I needed, really good that you explained why the things you did were needed, other contributors videos tend to show you what to do but don't explain why.
man crystal clear good job...I was looking for days and getting too many opinions and well mixed up but this is excellent , I'll be flying real soon because of this. one beta flight set up guy suggested messing with the mix settings on the transmitter,,, DON'T DO IT it messed up my switch function and isn't necessary ...
very helpful, well done. I sequenced my modes as angle, horizon then acro. This seemed to make more sense to me as a newbie, allowing me to better move through the skill scale. We'll see. Thanks for the video.
Dude, thank you....you have the best explanation on RUclips....this helped me sooooo much. I feel like every other RUclips FPV jockey assumes the noobies know stuff we dont....so frustrating....awesome video and explanation!!!!
Cool I did this to my flysky fs i6 transmitter and fpv drone. It’s messed up beyond repair😂 now ordering a new transmitter and fpv drone. At least it worked before I tried to see what flight mode it was in, it was sport and I put it on normal 🤣🤣 certainly not normal anymore oh well I’ll be happy with my completely new setup. Cheers
What’s a beginner to do with flysky fs i6 transmitter, I wanted to see flight mode and it was in sport and tried to put in in normal mode. I tried to restore to factory on drone and reset transmitter as well.
also betaflight the 3d model will be pointing right when first hooked up and then few minutes ill look back at it and it will be angled differently, this make any since at all?
yes it fixed that lol, now your radio is it setup any different for dual rate ? mine is at 100 rate/0 expo all channels only thing i didnt put in mine with your pids you show was the rc expo what does this do for it?
I get nothing when i turn on my remote. I have the receiver plugged into the quad and it hooked up to betaflight. it responds when i tilt the quad. but my remote does nothing in the receiver page in betaflight? also it doesn't connect to the quad like arm it or anything? Could someone please help. I have the same setup eachine wizrd x220 flysky 16, FS-iA6 receiver
I figured it out. Go into the System menu, then RX Setup, then PPM Output and turn it on. Save it and try it in beta flight again. You should also gain all controls to your quad.
Mustache Man 21 so I'm guessing you would recommend ibus over PPM? Idk whats better help a noob out lol currently I'm using ibus from what I've read this is supposed to be faster communication to the rx?
air mode is set at 1150 only does not return t o this when i drop the throttle i have to disarm it and then reset it runs at 115 when i re-arm it then touch any stick on the tx the throttle starts to increase with my hands of the tx,regards john
It appears that you do not have the failsafe setup in your i6. This means that your quad could fly away on it;s own if the radio loses contact with the quad. Please set up failsafe in your radio. Turn all channels on. You must also setup failsafe in betaflight. To test if failsafe works, idle motors and turn radio off. If motors still run failsafe does not work.
Let me guess, your mentors are Stew from UAV Futures and Steele Davis ;) Great video, basic but importantly has the added info as to why you chose the basic settings.
Sir, could please explain in more detail about plugging the battery in when the flight controller (I assume that what you mean by the "quad") is connected to the computer via USB? Won't those two power supplies interfere with each other? For isn't the receiver already powered up from the flight controller via the GND and VCC lines of the sBus/iBus connector (I assume your receiver is connected to the FC using this type of port)? However, it does look like the receiver needs to be externally powered, when the FC is connected to the computer via USB, because when I measure the voltage on the iBus connector power lines, it's only about 0.35 V, and the same voltage is on the ESC header power pins. But where to apply power to the receiver? In my case it's FX X6B receiver. I cannot find any pins for this purpose on it. When binding it to the transmitter (not connected to the flight controller) I power it from the PDB via the power lines of the iBus port. It powers up and binds to the transmitter without any problems. But when connected to the flight controller, with the FC conntected to the computer via USB, the receiver light does not come on. Which is not surprising, considering the 0.35 V on the iBus power lines.
Alright. I have solved the problem on my own. When the flight controller is connected to the computer via the USB port, we power it the same way when it's not connected, namely, by applying 5V voltage to the power pins of the ESC connector. The receiver in turn gets powered via the power lines of the iBus connector. I figured, it had to be this way, because I could not see any other one. So, even though I still had a slight fear of burning up the equipment by connecting it simultaneously to two different power supplies (the computer and the battery), I took a chance and, oh miracle, the control indicators in Betaflight started responding to transmitter control inputs. However, while the quad representation in Betaflight configurator responds to the x-mitter controls, the actual motors don't. They just jerk twice when connecting the power and then remain still and don't react to any of the controls. Also, with the ESC connectors connected to the FC, when connecting the battery, the PDB issues a different beep code, than when they are disconnected. Sounds like three short ones (the same as when no ESC connected) and then two long ones. And when the throttle is all the way down, the red light on the flight controller goes off, but when the throttle is moved up it starts blinking. And after sitting powered up for about 4 minutes, the PDB starts beeping - sound like one long beep and two short ones. What could be the problem this time?
Thank you omg I got my quad like 6 months ago and I couldn't get it to bind or anything watch your video once and got it going hell yeah thank you so much
I was able to bind my controller to the receiver just fine. When I throttle up the motors do not turn on. When I let the drone sit for 3-minutes or so, one front and one opposite back motor twitches. How can I get the motors to tune on on command.?
No problem! After you bind the RX and tx you need to "arm" your quad. This can be done by holding the throttle stick down and right for a couple seconds. OR you should follow these instructions very carefully and set it up on a switch. Also if you're quad sits for too long it will twitch it's completely natural, please DO NOT let it sit plugged in for that long though. They can over heat
My aux 3’s and above are not recognized in betaflight, plz help as I need to set up the second left switch to a beeper which iv just soldered into the quad.
I need major help please, i had just received my eachine x220 not long ago, and im having trouble binding it. it's completely frustrating!!! I try to check my reciever in clean flight and nothing shows up, I did what you said to do, which was turn the quad on but it's not helping. is it because im not connected to the RX, because I don't have a power plug to do that! PLEASE HELP
stupid question but after do all this how to run the drone ?all stuff run in betaflight (controller ,motors )but i can t start the racer ?? any idea please thanks
My channel 5 is swc and channel 6 is swa otherwise it wouldnt arm with the swa it would make my angle and horizon activate at same time switching down the swa?? weird but now when i arm it and starting giving throttle my motors keep rising .. lord this thing is screwed up and just want to get it going to fly and start learning what could be issue?
This is helpful, thank you -) it's so easy to overlook one little thing and it's also nice to have a reference point without feeling lost... thank you.
Hey there, i ve done everything like you. So now if i switch aux5 it automatically switches aux1 too. Same problem with aux 6, 3 and 2. It looks like it mixing the channels. But i never did something like this. What can i do against it? Looking forward to hear from you
Amazing vid just what us learners need. subbed to your channel its a no brainer.keep them coming man.thumbs up all day long.you've made me a happy flyer ;)
hi mate recommend setting subtrim on your transmitter for roll pitch and yaw to 1500 I think dead center some are up and down and you'll notice that the animation of quad in beta flight tab receiver will stay true and wont drift (as much) =p
Wheres the cables to connect this to the quad?? pretty important noob part you forgot to tell me, (just got radio today, no wires came with anything i bought to connect this receiver to quad)
Hey Great video, was really helpfull. I got my wizzard 1 day ago and I'm a total noob. I have done a setup after watching tones of videos, but my last problem is that if I give it just a tiny bit of throttle the motors will go to higher rpm's alIthough I only give It a bit on the throttle. Do you know how to fix this, so the motor will stay in the rpm rate as the throttle is in? Hope you and others can help me so I can get flying, I will do my best to explain it better if needed. But I really enjoy your videos and just subscribed Best regards Martin from Denmark
Hey Guys, Just got my Eachine Wizard last night. I followed this video for adding the 3 flight mode switches. While in Betaflight 3.1 noticed throttle gets stuck in Horizon, and angle mode with AIRMODE always on. My PROPS Are off is this normal? When I say stuck I mean when I give THROTTLE IN ANGLE MODE OR HORIZON MODE, and pull down on the Throttle it does not Slow down it sometimes accelerates!! PROPS are off just testing in Betaflight. Acromode Throttle is fine. Not sure if Props being off and AIRMODE always on is causing this issue. Thanks guys if someone can comment on this I am a noob, and nervous to fly this.
yea after I plug battery in I still have no inputs to my receiver from my transmitter as you move the sticks. they just don't move even after plugging battery in. help pls!
hi ,I bought the x220 rtf with flysky i6x and its bound with the x220 ok but haven't flown it yet for fear of something catastrophic happening... the response seems out of wack...when I move the throttle the motors spin up ok but wont hold a minimum rpm and just keep going to max it seems... and then when I reduce throttle it doesn't gradually slow it stops the motors dead near the bottom of throttle response, any clue what's going on ??? man I wanna fly this thing...
Hmm, shouldn't have anything to do with that ESC. Sounds like either your reciever wire could be a little loose. Or possibly your transmitter is accidentally on the wrong channel. Have you made sure it's o the right channel and tried rebinding it?
The 220 HV is going to be a more modern solution for you. None of these as without problems. But you're shooting yourself in the foot by using old hardware. One of my buddies has the 220 HV and even runs for us on it. The trick to that is to put the right props on it. With 4S, you're going to want to use a very aggressive prop, like a 5152 or something of that nature. but, then you also have the option of running 6s at which point you can prop accordingly.
it seems like a scary thing to do for somebody who's new to this, but you're going to learn a lot of things that you're going to continually use in this hobby. If you need anything reach out to any of us!
@@FPVnoobtubeChannel thank you. My old man is into electronics. I've bee exposed to that and soldering my whole life. Background in rc cars and mechanically inclined. I do have a lot to learn. Retired from motocross and need a new hobby. All of you guys have bee very helpful. I appreciate all of the help 👍👉 I'm so pumped on this whole thing deal 👍👍
i hate bugging you man, is there forums you reccomend i join for getting more familar with the race drones.. im from the life of rc cars so different area for me here so far
i really appreciate it. yeh i didnt know if stock radio shows rate 100 and expo 0? mine even though i have the arm switch top left like you did, when i switch it and look at radios dual rate it shows normal then sport and theres different values lol so unarmed it had different rates and expo and then armed shows sport and is 100/0 all channels
flysky just like the one in your video. if you go to functions and then dual rate/exp. it shows your channels rate and expo mine since the arm switch is swa switch if toggled i show normal and when switched for arm on swa it shows sport
your arm switch was set from 1850 to 200 it needs to be 1000 to 2000 or it would be armed nonstop???... ideally motors should spin when armed at the lowest steady speed they can,
Be careful of having a 'down' active arming switch - it's easier to accidentally hit the switch and flip it up during flight which would disarm rather than accidentally flip it down. I always have my arming switches up armed and down disarmed for this reason.
Unfortunately the FS-i6 requires all switches up and throttle fully down to start. That means your throttle is armed as soon as you switch on. Each to their own but I'd prefer the throttle to be disarmed at start-up and throw a switch (or 2) to arm the throttle.
its good to see you work all this out and then pass on your findings also do your self a favor and only fly in acro or airmode or you will end up with bad habits that will limit you learning curve
Nothing wrong with flying in Angle mode or Horizon Mode till you are use to the controls. Especially when LoS. I started out the same Flying level till got use to how the drone reacts. then practised doing my flips and roll in horizon mode all LoS. Through Fpv I only fly acro as you stated flying acro LoS is nearly impossible at the moment. As Fore AirMode as Kris mentioned... isn't a mode like acro or Horizon or Ang;e/Self Level. Airmode is the option that allows to keep the motors spinning and gyros active when you throttle down all the way, Giving you the control to keep the quad stable in the air while doing your rolls and flips. People Say start off in acro and learn that way, and that might work for them but everyone is different. I do belive its best to get off Self level and Horizon as soon as possible but only do it when you feel ready and comfortable to do it.
take it from someone whos been there. Fly around in your sim and get use to the control build your muscle memory. even if your flying in level mode. Once you understand how the quad operates and your comfortable with. switch the sim over to acro mode and fly around like that. I told my friend the same thing that i'm about to tell you now, and this has saved himself alot of $$ and has made him a better pilot. But this is a challenge. Once you start flying in acro in your simulator Time your self.... If you can fly around in acro mode performing just the basic tricks such as flips and roll, and fly for 5 ~ 6 mins straight WITH OUT CRASHING!! Then you should be good enough to fly a drone out in the real world in a safe manner. Keep in mind that a simulator is just a game and the mechanical physics don't quite compare to real life. A simulator is just there to help you build Muscle memory that's it. Flying a real drone will feel a lot different as each quad handles and behaves in its own way. Just takes time to get use to the feel of your machine and know whats its capable of doing.
Sadly there isnt a Betaflight app yet. There is an app Called Ez-Gui that will allow you to connect your Quad to an I-Pad or tablet. that will allow you to adjust your pids and rates. as well as have some other cool features you can play with. You will have to buy an OTG cable. cables that converts usb to micro usb other wise your ipad wont reconize anything being hooked up.
Does Betaflight open? If your board isn't connecting, make sure you have all the drivers installed for the flight control. You can click on the links in the left menu in Betaflight to install them. If that doesn't work, try a different USB cable. I have found some cables don't work.
When I connect my quad to betaflight it doesnt give me the option 'calibrate accelerometer' and it doesn't respond when I tilt it, and it I also dont get any reaction to the radio form the quad or betaflight. I need help! I'm a total noob.

without a doubt the best vid in its class more actual info per minute than any other
congrats!
Absoluely brilliant sir fair play to u you. Got this for Xmas and the fact it comes with no instructions your videos have been invaluable.
Not sure if you noticed but u can enable airmode permanently in the configuration tab second last from OSD in the other features area.
I dislike motors keep spinning do u ?
Great Job explaining Modes better than most. thank you
very helpful, well done. I sequenced my modes as angle, horizon then acro. This seemed to make more sense to me as a newbie, allowing me to better move through the skill scale. We'll see. Thanks for the video.
Had to go back to this video to set up another tiny whoop to my flysky again thanks Icarus !
Good video. Wish there was videos like this a couple of years ago when I was getting into this. Keep up the good work.
same problem did you get it resolved in the end?
Thanks from a noob for your work and your channel.
sweet, did have to set fail-safe on control though in case it loses signal, thanks for sharing
thanks a lot sorted now maybe now i can get outdoors and break something, regards john
Very good.don,t stop keep it up please.
Thanks for the walk through.
Dude, thank you....you have the best explanation on RUclips....this helped me sooooo much. I feel like every other RUclips FPV jockey assumes the noobies know stuff we dont....so frustrating....awesome video and explanation!!!!
Can I bind my FS with my toy grade quad, Syma x8c for example? If yes, please prepare a separate video. Thanks.
Cheers
Not sure what video your commenting on, (studio doesn't show) but it's got to be a really old one. Sorry whatever it was that didn't work out for you.
What’s a beginner to do with flysky fs i6 transmitter, I wanted to see flight mode and it was in sport and tried to put in in normal mode. I tried to restore to factory on drone and reset transmitter as well.

thanks for the info, and thanks for sharing 👍
yes it fixed that lol, now your radio is it setup any different for dual rate ? mine is at 100 rate/0 expo all channels only thing i didnt put in mine with your pids you show was the rc expo what does this do for it?
will drone keep spinning motors up when testing on betaflight because no props? mine keeps throttle up when im not throttle up itself
I have the same setup
eachine wizrd x220
flysky 16, FS-iA6 receiver
Adam Mennella Art I'm having the same problem. Did you ever get it figured out?
im having the same problem as well anyone know how to fix?
I figured it out. Go into the System menu, then RX Setup, then PPM Output and turn it on. Save it and try it in beta flight again. You should also gain all controls to your quad.
Adam Mennella Art plug the reciecer in on the other side of the spf3 controller board
Mustache Man 21 so I'm guessing you would recommend ibus over PPM? Idk whats better help a noob out lol currently I'm using ibus from what I've read this is supposed to be faster communication to the rx?
did u learn how to do turtle mode?
air mode is set at 1150 only does not return t o this when i drop the throttle i have to disarm it and then reset it runs at 115 when i re-arm it then touch any stick on the tx the throttle starts to increase with my hands of the tx,regards john
will a qx7 hook up with the same cables...?
Good video. Keep it up.

my receiver is binded but no movement on yaw pitch roll
and no battery voltage displayed. How do you know when to land the quard?
I made a big mistake. I accidentally pressed UART 1 and canceled USB ... now I can't get into betafligt ... what to do?
stupid question but after do all this how to run the drone ?all stuff run in betaflight (controller ,motors )but i can t start the racer ?? any idea please thanks

Great Video man!!!!
This is helpful, thank you -) it's so easy to overlook one little thing and it's also nice to have a reference point without feeling lost... thank you.
Do you got a vid like this over a q x7 ? Im gonna buy that but now also must to learn how to set it al up
Hey there, i ve done everything like you. So now if i switch aux5 it automatically switches aux1 too. Same problem with aux 6, 3 and 2. It looks like it mixing the channels. But i never did something like this.
What can i do against it? Looking forward to hear from you
Need to give info on PID settings for different quads.
Icky we want you back homie!
Would I need to configure any settings in MIX in the radio setup tab?
Amazing vid just what us learners need. subbed to your channel its a no brainer.keep them coming man.thumbs up all day long.you've made me a happy flyer ;)
hi mate recommend setting subtrim on your transmitter for roll pitch and yaw to 1500 I think dead center some are up and down and you'll notice that the animation of quad in beta flight tab receiver will stay true and wont drift (as much) =p
TheFPVnoobtube no prob just recently got the x220 my self as first quad some awesome fun to be had keep up the good work
THANKS for that video! :)
Wheres the cables to connect this to the quad?? pretty important noob part you forgot to tell me, (just got radio today, no wires came with anything i bought to connect this receiver to quad)
Why is this guy trying to be like Mister steal from the mustache down to the necklace
Buster.
Lol. Find yourself homie. Don't be someone else.
When I get into betaflight the connect button stays grey no matter what port I plug it into
Hey
Great video, was really helpfull.
I got my wizzard 1 day ago and I'm a total noob.
I have done a setup after watching tones of videos, but my last problem is that if I give it just a tiny bit of throttle the motors will go to higher rpm's alIthough I only give It a bit on the throttle.

Hey Guys,
Just got my Eachine Wizard last night.
I love you for this video
Thank you so much! This video is very good and helpfull!
yea after I plug battery in I still have no inputs to my receiver from my transmitter as you move the sticks. they just don't move even after plugging battery in. help pls!
same issue
Rest everything and start fresh with and start with this video I just set mine up
I am totally impressed with your progress. Have you had any fall outs or crazy spinning on occasion.
cant learn to fly without a few crashes
Nice video
You are not using ibus why? :D
does wizard not stock with horizon.acro range? mine don't it's only acro mode only.thanks for video this may help me
TheFPVnoobtube man thank u I'll do this when home. thumbs up
hi ,I bought the x220 rtf with flysky i6x and its bound with the x220 ok but haven't flown it yet for fear of something catastrophic happening... the response seems out of wack...when I move the throttle the motors spin up ok but wont hold a minimum rpm and just keep going to max it seems... and then when I reduce throttle it doesn't gradually slow it stops the motors dead near the bottom of throttle response, any clue what's going on ??? man I wanna fly this thing...
lee man the motors without proppeler spin all the timer faster And faster. Its all good
And now my Knowledge was lvl Up because of you man, Ty so much Bro you'r the MAN
I had a esc replaced from a hobby shop and now The receivers not talking to the drone why.
Hmm, shouldn't have anything to do with that ESC. Sounds like either your reciever wire could be a little loose. Or possibly your transmitter is accidentally on the wrong channel. Have you made sure it's o the right channel and tried rebinding it?
thank u so much for this vid sooooo helpful

With 4S, you're going to want to use a very aggressive prop, like a 5152 or something of that nature. but, then you also have the option of running 6s at which point you can prop accordingly.
@@FPVnoobtubeChannel thank you very much. I have since decided to build up my own 👍 for a few reasons
it seems like a scary thing to do for somebody who's new to this, but you're going to learn a lot of things that you're going to continually use in this hobby.
Well then...welcome to the addiction ;) find us on Facebook if you need help. There are lots of ppl willing, in our group.
What about failsafe
i hate bugging you man, is there forums you reccomend i join for getting more familar with the race drones.. im from the life of rc cars so different area for me here so far
i really appreciate it. yeh i didnt know if stock radio shows rate 100 and expo 0? mine even though i have the arm switch top left like you did, when i switch it and look at radios dual rate it shows normal then sport and theres different values lol so unarmed it had different rates and expo and then armed shows sport and is 100/0 all channels
flysky just like the one in your video. if you go to functions and then dual rate/exp. it shows your channels rate and expo mine since the arm switch is swa switch if toggled i show normal and when switched for arm on swa it shows sport
nope i havent just got switch for disarm motors swa and then swc ive got setup for flight modes like u did. still trying to figure out all this stuff
Thank you!!
your arm switch was set from 1850 to 200 it needs to be 1000 to 2000 or it would be armed nonstop???... ideally motors should spin when armed at the lowest steady speed they can,
so i launched the app betaflight hooked it up and nothing connects just keeps saying connecting then failed
Ethan hunter you need to install the driver for conection its on the help page in betaflight as links to web sites with the uptodate drivers
+The Noob-Tube alright im ganna give it another try right now and see what happens
I am new to quads myself and used a sim to get the hang of flying every chance I had and I think that has helped alot making crashing cheaper
take it from someone whos been there.
Sorry didn't mean to Rain in on the parade and throw in a novel of what to do. lol
Hey man, loving the videos! Can you elaborate a bit on airmode please?
Could I use a I pad to do betaflight
Sadly there isnt a Betaflight app yet. There is an app Called Ez-Gui that will allow you to connect your Quad to an I-Pad or tablet. that will allow you to adjust your pids and rates. as well as have some other cool features you can play with. You will have to buy an OTG cable. cables that converts usb to micro usb other wise your ipad wont reconize anything being hooked up.
Thanks
Alright
I could not connect to betaflight, also i could not flash it
please help
Does Betaflight open? If your board isn't connecting, make sure you have all the drivers installed for the flight control.
You can click on the links in the left menu in Betaflight to install them.
If that doesn't work, try a different USB cable. I have found some cables don't work.
Faisal J check the windows system if you see it by the com ports!
One day you'll no longer be a noob... What will you do then?? Haha, nice vid man. Keep it up.
When I connect my quad to betaflight it doesnt give me the option 'calibrate accelerometer' and it doesn't respond when I tilt it, and it I also dont get any reaction to the radio form the quad or betaflight. I need help! I'm a total noob.
I love quad copters to you can tell you’re a fan of Mr. still
I keep getting failed serial port when I try to connect to betaflight I need help if you could
hahaha hey mr steele what happened
