Walleye are non-native. There's no limits on warm water species in the Columbia river system for a reason. Keep the hens and fry up the eggs for breakfast!
I am a Bassaholic eating wise! My wife is the top bass eater. She had her own Bass pond growing up and they would have fish fry's with Largemouth, Smallmouth, and Crappie.
I prefer black Sea bass!! I grew up eating them yallow Perch!!! Lots of good stories!! But now I'm a sea bass eating guy!! Catch and eat!! And there lives matter!!
I eat the crap out of smallmouth bass, they're one of my favorite fish to eat, oan fried or beer battered and make fish and chips with them. Like he said, cornmeal and flour, salt, and I put some ceyenne pepper in for some flavor. Fried in corn or canola oil, all day long!
Just relocated from MN and Liked the footage. Getting out for eyes soon. Perch are Fantastic, walleye are delicious. love sea bass and cold water (< 60f ) smallies are good eating. Favorite has to be fresh halibut. See you out on the water.
Perch are great, but after eating walleye they take a distant second place. IMHO. And fillets are huge in comparison. And the cheek meat..ah the cheek meat. You gotta try them.
From Tri-cities and fish on the Columbia locally for Small and Largemouth bass. I stick to maybe 1 or 2 every few months when I catch a nice one and its some of my favorite meat! #Millertime
Hey so we fish for a lot of walleye and the of have moved out of Plymouth try jigging raps and worm harnesses for at blaylock islands and boulder alley also the water is super high so lately the bite has turned off I love watching then vids keep up the good work
I love small mouth bass. Tasty little buggers. I was treated to a productive day on the Snake a few years back. Between the Crappie and the SM Bass....the flour/cornmeal/salt is the way to go.
I love small mouth and large mouth bass fried up! I agree they have a slightly muddy flavor but I actually love that lol. I guess some people aren’t turned off by that, to each their own!
I grew up eating largemouth in CA. Smallmouth just as tasty. Call around to your local Chinese restaurants and see if they’ll cook up your catch. Some will cook you fish whole, either steamed with ginger, scallions, and soy sauce, or they’ll deep fry it and pour sweet and sour sauce over it. Maybe look for restaurants that offer whole Black Sea bass on their menu. Good luck!
Beginner fisher from Nova Scotia here loving your content ! Great informative videos and super footage. Always happy to watch a new video at the end of the day ! #teamjordan
Doods. Here's my preference from this video, in order. 1. Walleye (though have only had fish from Devil's Lake in North Dakota) 2. Sea bass 3. Small mouth bass *haven't eaten perch, but also haven't caught any worth filleting. Lol The trick with the small mouth is bleed em right away, then at home soak filets in salt water overnight or about 24 hrs changing water couple times. Money!
Talked to 4 people today about addicted fishing while I was fishing for trout. Gave away all my bobbers and garlic power bait to kids. help a guy set up his trout rod properly. I did all this while catching 3 trout
Thanks Addicted crew for having me join you guys on this awesome adventure. It has been a highlight. I love sharing my passion with others. Hopefully we can do some fishing in the future..Thanks Marlin, Sean, RJ, Pete and Conan! Lines stay Tight!
I’ve never eaten a smallie but I have eaten a smaller largemouth and I thing sea bass are way better and marlin is right I think it has something to do with the water temp or quality and the diet of the fish
Sick vid never disappointed and I always learn something new especially when it comes to walleye trying To lean as much as I can about walleye I am very much a noob any recommendations on summer walleye fishing fellow Addicts
I eat small mouth bass all the time. I've never eaten a large mouth but I've heard they don't taste as good as the smallies. Can anyone approve or disprove that rumor?
Looked like a real grind guys, glad you were able to get a few! Love me some perch and walleye fillets... will eat some smaller as well since we do not have many walleye options here in Eastern Idaho. Prefer walleye/perch over bass any day! Coming from S. Dak, we would never bleed the fish... rather stick them in the livewell and then on ice.
I honestly HATE Black Seabass. It was the most incredibly depressing fish I've ever had, and it was immediately frozen and about a day old only. On top of that, it was one of if not the boniest fish my entire family has ever had in our lives. And both sides LOVE fish, especially my mom's side who predictably, is heavily Scandinavian. And I have a feeling I'd adore the Smallmouth now simply because people always trash talk Catfish saying "it has a super muddy flavor" and to me, it is by far and large my all time favorite fish to eat. So I suppose that also makes me part of that "abnormal" group haha. For the record, we caught the Black Seabass in about 60 feet of water in the middle of summer fishing between 6am and 10am a mile off the mouth of Yaquina Bay. No idea if any of that would have anything to do with this fish being like it was, so for the more experienced fisherman and seabass eaters out there, feel free to let me know.
What happened to the Japanese Death Spike? A good bonk even would have been better than the gill slash by itself. Those fish were flopping around in pain. I expected better from a group that talks about dispatching the fish as humanly as possible. First time I've been disappointed in one of your videos.
@@AddictedFishing go back and look at the edited video. It sure looks like the fish just had their gills slit and then thrown into the box where they were flopping around. You guys are normally right on with your kills which is why I was surprised to see that happen. You may want to be more careful with stuff like that. At least show the bonk. Love the work you guys do which is why I was alittle shocked by this video. Everything else in the video gets an A+.
I do, but maybe that's because we're all from the Pacific Northwest and it's just a part of our typical speech. I, like them, might just be biased too for that reason haha
Smash that thumbs up, & please share around Addicts! We're growing fast let's keep the movement going!! 🎣
Love what you guys do. Thanks
Sea Bass all day long!
smoked bass soooo great
Plymouth is the spot!!
Wicked fun...
I make ceviche out of smallmouth. Comes out 🔥
We only eat Smallmouth and we let largies go!
Between Little Goose Dam and Lyons Ferry Marina ;-) Walleye heaven! but you gotta bring me along lol
I too prefer small mouth bass over sea bass any day
I love eating smallmouth out of the Columbia, especially from the Hanford reach. Anything non native gets eaten!
So last year about middle of September I was kite fishing for walleye from the shore in irrigon Oregon at night
I love bass fishing and I enjoy eating them also. Especially the small mouth
Thank you for mentioning that you are not eating the big hens. Thats an important thing to note.
Walleye are non-native. There's no limits on warm water species in the Columbia river system for a reason. Keep the hens and fry up the eggs for breakfast!
Bass are highly variable dependent upon the water quality. Bass caught out of good clean water are very tasty.
What?! No Northern Pikeminnows?
I agree with guy, seabass don't taste as good as smallmouths (from clean cool water). For sure.
I love eating smallmouth. I usually get the blue bag of Louisiana fish fry and fry em up. Taste amazing 🔥
I would take sea bass any day over a small mouth. I am new tot he channel.
Did you guys film Day 1 of this trip?
I pass on bass. Crappie, gills, and walleye
Small mouth are better to eat than sea bass. But I dont like killing small mouth.
For us in this order...Halibut, perch/ling cod, walleye, northern pike, largemouth, smallmouth.
I C&R all species of freshwater bass. Smaller walleyes, perch, crappie, and channel cats go home with me.
Whoever eats bass is a certified goon
Love all bass they are great to eat.

Love small mouth bass

WHERE in Eastern Washington. Please tell us where you are caching. I love your videos but it's so frustrating to not know what lake you are at.
Plymouth Wa.
Waving hello from southern idaho
Where are you in southern Idaho looking for someone that has a boat to fish the snake river down by Hagerman area.
@@sharonnalder3428 Hello Sharon. I don't personally own a boat. I fish quite a bit at Minadoka Dam and American Falls.
Just found this. It’s awesome.
Loved It!
Yellow perch are better than walleye keep them! I honestly think they are as good if not better than lingcod

Smallmouth are better tasting than sea bass....I guess I am also part of the extreme minority!

Are there no size limits where you fish?
Not on these species.
Just relocated from MN and Liked the footage. Getting out for eyes soon. Perch are Fantastic, walleye are delicious. love sea bass and cold water (< 60f ) smallies are good eating. Favorite has to be fresh halibut.

The man knows his fish! Perch are the best. Just have to catch so many. Never had walleye but love pike and trout also.
Perch are great, but after eating walleye they take a distant second place. IMHO. And fillets are huge in comparison. And the cheek meat..ah the cheek meat. You gotta try them.
Is this in Bridgeport ?
Bummer I thought you were going live on the Columbia for sockeye
That'll be Tuesday I bet
Hey brother another great video. This is fishing 👊👊👊
I got some really nice walleye and a couple real nice catfish in a tributary off the Columbia the other day but the wind was nasty
Can’t wait, Just got home from catching 57 yellow perch and 3 white perch between me and the woman, this video is just the icing on the cake
What's up Marlin

I had fried walleye years ago, very good. Never had a small bass.
I want to see Addicted catch and fillet some STURGEON🤘

Love all the info and content .. I wish you guys did a market Monday testing out newer lures in the river
There are too many peoe fishing everything out in washington :/
Hard pass on small mouth. I'd take a clean water catfish anytime though. Haven't had walleye or perch yet.

Hey all! Do you have a good way to catch walleye from the bank?
Doods. Here's my preference from this video, in order.
1. Walleye (though have only had fish from Devil's Lake in North Dakota)
2. Sea bass

Dude I never tried smallmouth... but I don't same thing with pike . I soak them in salt water. The next 16in smallie I catch may go in the cooler.
Hey guys, what is a good choice for level wind trolling reel? Size?
Okuma low pro Coldwater
i think id rather eat a dozen pirch i havent ate bass in forty years
Never had sea bass. Definitely prefer perch and walleye to bass. Glad someone else also ranks perch over the other two.
What damn is that?

And what are you using for bait??? Arrrg
I’ve caught some sizable sturgeon just below that dam. It’s an overly popular hole though. I’d love to see you guys lay into some oversized giants!
Deep fry the whole fish.
I’ve never eaten a smallie but I have eaten a smaller largemouth and I thing sea bass are way better and marlin is right I think it has something to do with the water temp or quality and the diet of the fish
Bass makes an AWESOME fish Taco!

Yeah i agree you could let them bleed out after they are already dead.
That fish box is open to the water and allows water to flow in and out. There is also a pump the pumps water in once the lid is closed.
Wow people... 🤦♂️ We did bonk them, and we were flushing water in the tank. We also removed them after 10 mins or so onto ice.
Looks like I have an apartment in Kent come July first. Looking forward to salmon and Dungeness

Smallmouth better
