Mr. Richard the Proceder, have you considered showing Judson some Agalloch? When he said "I like the landscape of it", i couldn't help but immediately think of Agalloch... and if you don't want to make him sit through the 15 minutes of "In the Shadow of Our Pale Companion", or the 17 minutes of the more black metal "Black Lake Nidstang" there's always shorter songs like "Not Unlike the Waves" that would be cool too.
PS: I also think of 2010 as fairly recent, musically, since most of my favorite albums are from the 90s and 80s, so I felt that one haha.
My favorite Black Metal album.
Enslaved's best album.
Every single song is a banger.
Excellent choice Richard.
Every time I click a new video from you guys I think “my boys!!!” Even though I’ve never met either one of you 🤣 It’s just fun to hang out and listen to music and hear your convo about it 🎶
Borknagar - Up North❄️❄️❄️
Just an a idea 😀
YESS, he would love it
Perfect pick 🤘🤘🤘🤘
And you probably mean the single “up north” from the “true north” album
@@Marduk567 yup..danke
100
that whole album is a hammer
I'm convinced Judson is being held hostage now.
This album is top notch. 10/10
One of my favorite Enslaved albums🙌💀
Very proggy. Could easily have come from the Opeth Ghost Reveries album, so needless to say i enjoyed it a lot. One step closer to Judson in corpse makeup...
My first Enslaved album, which instantly made me a huge fan. This song has one of my favorite solos in all of rock and metal. They are definitely a twin to Opeth when it comes to melding extreme metal with prog music.
Would be cool to see ya'll check out some Agalloch :D
Great song and album, as is the next one, RIITIIR. The opening one two punch of Thoughts Like Hammers & Death in the Eyes of Dawn gets me every time. 🤘
I’m always astonished how black metal will always change its time signature and tempo from standard 4/4 to a waltz 3/4
Day 6 of requesting Diablo Swing Orchestra. "Balrog Boogie?"
Interesting song overall. The guitar solo near the end was pretty nice. Might check out more.
Or a tapdancer’s dilema or voodoo mon amour
Nice, my favourite Enslaved album. The best way to enjoy this is to listen to the album the whole way through. May do some of Ihsahn's solo material at some point?
One of my favourite bands for sure. Cool to see them on the channel!
Oh damn Enslaved are soo good great choice
It's nice to see Judson finally being grateful to Richard (?
Saw Enslaved last year in a small venue. 🤯 So good, SOOOO good!! Great choice. Their best album.
One of the best enslaved songs!!
BANGER album
DARZAMAT - The Burning Times (Pianist Continues His Exploration Of Heavy Metal)
No Emperor yet? I suggest Alsvartr + Ye Entrancemperium
You should start from the beginning of Enslaved. Their early stuff is golden!
Enslaved is kvlt band here in North part of Europe
They gone threw many stages but still keeped their sound
Bitte Emperor ❤
Didn't they just do 'Where dead angels lie'?
How about some of the more classical Windir offshoots? Cor Scorpii Oske og innsikt, Mistur Attende.
Enslaved earlier stuff is the best, expecially from Vikingligr Veldi and Blodhmen albums, altough their mid period is pretty good: Below The Lights, Ruun or even Monumension. But my favourite song is the epic "793 (Slaget om Lindisfarne)" from the album Eld. Their late works i don't know very much.
793 (Slaget om Lindisfarne) is so goddamn good, i dont even know how i stumbled upon Enslaved when i was younger, but this was i think the first song i heard (or at least the most memorable) and it stuck with me.
For me it’s Below the Lights. Perfect balance of the old and new.
DARZAMAT - Pain Collector (Pianist Continues His Exploration Of Heavy Metal)
Richard! My dude! Funeral Mist- Cockatrice, from the album Hekatomb. It's the vocalist from Marduk 🤘
Check it out! If I have to become a Patreon to get it played I will goddamnit! 😂
Huh I guess Enslaved went into a new direction at some point.
I don't think I've heard anything from them since the very early 2000s, but that was neat.
Maybe do Mamaleek, there last one, Vida Blue is my album of the year hands down. Going from trip hop to jazz to black metal. Good shit
I always struggled with Enslaved a bit. I liked Mardraum pretty well when I found it randomly, but every album I've checked out since then has had some stuff I liked (and a few bits I loved) surrounded by some stuff that kinda dragged on and I didn't find that memorable which kinda sapped my enthusiasm and I never ended up revisiting any of them.
To plug some black metal it seems Judson would like, Agathodaimon's "The Ending of Our Yesterday" is a quite "pretty" black metal track with some great melodies and nice lyrics and a bit of a proggy feel. "An Angel's Funeral" is also very good but a little blastier, but might be a fun pair with "Where Dead Angel's Lie" that he seemed to like.
I wish you show him some Sühnopfer at some point :D.
Hey guys, what a great song and agree Richard, Enslaved is one of my favorite black metal bands and the new album is awesone as well. You should give Borknager - Unraveling a spin, another great nordic band with a new album...
It's gonna be cold cold cold cold, gonna be coooAAAAAAAALD!!!!
Yes!!
I love this band
Explorer le groupe coroner
Oh damn, Enslaved is an extremely pleasant Suprise to see here. One of my favourite Bands ever. Enslaved has such a deep catalogue, It's difficult to pick.
From Axioma actually i'd say Lightening is my favourite
Roots of the Mountain does remain overall my favourite song of theirs. (The entire RIITIIR Album is absolutely fantastic, Thoughts Like Hammers, Death in the Eyes of Dawn, Veilburner, Materal, Forsaken are all brilliant)
Neogenesis on the other hand i feel is more unique and maybe 'the' Enslaved Masterpiece
Havenless is a hypnotic jam.
Forest Dweller off their newest record is incredible.
For old Stuff, i really love their first (full) album Vikingligr Veldi as well, Vetranott is great. (And theres 793 of course)
Storre Enn Tid and Entrance - Escape are super weird but interesting transition songs.
Really, pick any song from their catalogue and theres a 75% chance its at least good, 50% chance its a least great.
Enslaved is a great band with melodies and feelings. Those guys can sing and play for sure!
Suggestion in the same vein for Judson: any track from the "Fall" album from Borknagar. I'm sure he'll dig it 🙂
Their other albums are also great btw
So I suggest Bathorys A Fine Day to Die and Arcturus The Chaos Path after this
Håvamål is not from the 1600-century my dude. More like 700-900 ish. Love The channel btw; your taste in music and shirts are impeccable.
Thank you for kickin’ it with us!
@@GreatmeasuresEnslaved are from my hometown; really nice people!
Richard, look up Daði Freyr & Millie Turner - What Is Love.
Please react to "Prognan - Tri Nacjie"
This Song is amazing
Igorrr
Show him MGLA and/or Kanonenfieber - plenty to talk about 😅
Amazing bands! and the drummer in my opinion is one of the best
@@juliopoveda futility V drum cam. Nothing else to say. Richard should do a double. 1st just the Song, 2nd the DFH drum cam. Where can I donate for this? 😉
Lies! Best Beck album is of course Sea Change :)
I have to admit, a stunning album for sure
