the best and most thorough screen printing tutorial!
One of the best videos on registration I've seen so far, thanks a lot!
This was so helpful! I am starting this week as a volunteer docent at an Andy Warhol exhibit and I am not an artist, nor did I know how to screen print! I looked at a few videos and they presumed I knew something about it. The two videos in this series were basic enough for me to really understand how screen printing is done. Well done!
I really love the music you put to this video, between that and your calm demeanor. This is one of the best tutorial videos I have found so far! (I've watched maybe upwards of 50 so far).
THANK YOU! I have the basic supplies but have yet to actually use them! You've inspired me Marsha, much appreciated.
Thanks for the awesome feedback everyone. Glad our videos can help you with your art :)
Thanks for all the help. I really learned a lot from watching both your videos.
The acetate method for registration can be used on both paper and fabric. The application is very similar, just follow the same steps outlined by Marsha for preparing/mounting the acetate. Spray a piece of cardboard with spray adhesive and put it on the inside of the t-shirt where the print will go. The spray adhesive will help the shirt from moving and the cardboard acts as a nice flat surface to print on. It also helps protect the opposite side of the t-shirt from the ink.
Hope this helps
Very informative video. I do screen printing on t-shirts, but the concepts you talk about here transfer to that medium as well. Awesome job, thanks!
Thanks for your time, this was a great tutorial which was very helpful.
Thank you for this! This is exactly what I was looking for. Actually quite difficult to find a proper tutorial about screen printing on paper techniques.
Excellent demonstration, thank you.
Brilliant registration technique. Thanks, I can't wait to try this method.
Absolutely amazing, thank you. I am a newbie and the problem for me is that to have a screen exposed is expensive. With the mask ease I can do so much myself. I've just ordered some, sadly I can't find it in the UK! Such a lot of learning in a short 2 part video. Once again, thank you.
Thank you Marsha. This is what I was actually looking for.
Great video! She's a great instructor.
An excellent how to video, thanks. Tina
I had to replay 5:52 a bunch of times because I thought you said "and I'm going to show you how F*ing easy that is to do". Nice video
Brilliant thanks..
i love Marsha!
Grate videos 1 n 2 is there a video on how to make your screen holder or press. I would really appreciate
That was awesome! Thanks for sharing!
I really enjoyed the video...thanks
awesome video, thanks!
That’s a great video. I like the acetate registration method. I did a couple of videos on 1 color paper stencil screen printing and it was fun. But I do use photopolymer emulsions for commercial work ;) Come get some Catspit~! ☠
God job👍
Thanks a lot.
Also, what kind of paper are you using to make your stencils for the pie crust and filling runs? I have been concerned that I'll get some bleeding at the edges with paper stencils--how do you avoid this?
bom video, vlw pela informação; VAI BRASILLL
Nice !!!

Very helpful! It looks like the palette you are printing on is slightly sticky. I'm sure it helps for keeping it in place. What is it?
Jay Crum - Marsha used Krylon Easy Tack to help keep the print from moving during the registration and printing process. You can learn more about it, and all the products Marsha used on our website: www.opusartsupplies.com/introtoscreenprinting
Hope this helps and have a creative summer!
What typpe of paper did you use for the paper stencil? regular Bond?
Marsha used regular photocopy paper for the paper stencil and Mask-Ease for the clear stencil. You can find a full list of materials, including the 1st part to this video at: www.opusartsupplies.com/introtoscreenprinting
Hope this helps!
cool
Wow
Would I be able to substitute the acetate with a film positive?
Hello Anjel,
Yes, you would be able to substitute the acetate with a film positive. The acetate is used as a clear and see through guide for registering your surface with the image on the acetate. When you preform your first print onto the acetate, the film positive you'd like to substitute would have the same surface type to produce a clean print.
Hope this helps!
thanks! i wasn't sure if there was something special with the acetate that the film wouldn't be able to handle. this was really helpful!
Your very welcome Anjel. Hope the prints turn out great!
