What matters to me? What do I hold with great esteem? These questions have always found a way to trouble my mind. My lack of a clear understanding of what I value and my core values has made me sell myself short, do things I do not like, be in relationships i hated and unfortunately have friends I did not value in return. It is true, you can not respect peoples values if you have no understanding of what you value. ( Burn!)
I hope these thoughts will encourage you, push you to journal and be CLEAR about your values.

I relate so well when you say you've for a long time felt like the girl in the room and not at the table. Sometimes I wanna look at it as a God thing. Hard as it may sound, the rejection sends you back to reinventing yourself and again finding peace in self validation, believing that you are valuable even when no-one's clapping. When you mentioned paying bills am like wow same sis. I wanna pay my bills with what I love to do and sometimes issa struggle. However lets never stop believing in what impact it makes to light our candles for others to see. When expressing my truest self without accolades I call it giving bk to the society for being alive. God will take care of the rest. I feel like I digressed a bit but its coz I picked a lot from that brief talk. This conversations are necessary
