Every single moment of his acting is terrific. I'm positive he put in a ton of work to map out this whole phone conversation, down to his answering glottal stop to Julia's "goodbye". Or maybe not. Bottomline is Rupert Friend is hella good at his job, whether he's executing it with tremendous control or fluid improv.

He doesn't watch his own work.. that's some kind of ethics and work commitment...he deserves an award (not like it'll prove anything else that we don't know) but still if anyone can get an Emmy or Oscar then Rupert can absolutely do

@@ennediend2865 yeah I mean who knows, maybe I might have actually got to like Dana's character if they played less of her insufferable outbursts and more of Quinns humanity. He's by far my favourite character in this show and maybe ever.

@@ingridmay66 Stupid decision. It should be a part of Quinn's character's story. Also, after his sad unnecessary death, I wish they had shown at least part of his memorial with Julia and John jnr there, and them being told what a hero he was. Even my daughter thought so...
Quinn deserved the recognition esp after the shit he went thro!

Quinn deserved the recognition esp after the shit he went thro in S 5 and 6. Without Quinn, S 7 & 8 were a struggle to watch. The storyline was quite silly. Russians got involved. Carrie became even MORE irritating and unlikable. The presidents Keane and Hayes were awful. David Wellington would have been better.

@@wctrqn I agree, there was no funeral or memorial. the scenes with his son and ex girlfriend was deleted. i don't get it. I think,Quinn's storyline was saddest in tv history.

Quinn: Specialist of heavy weapons and heavy women.
I have no idea what the world of black ops is actually like, but quinn strikes me as a he'll of a lot more realistic than james bond, etc. Quinn has a lot of the same skills, but he reacts to all the killing he's asked to do like a human being - he's traumatized by it, and it slowly deadens him. Also, I liked that he couldn't just withstand any physical injury.
Quinn was my favorite character. I was devastated when he was killed. His passion for his work and his love for Carrie were impossible. He faced so many insurmountable challenges for Saul, Dar Adal and Carrie. Honestly, I hoped he wouldn't die. The homeland is not the same without Quinn. I can honestly say that this is the only series I've seen that has moved me so much. I felt like I had lost a family member - Virgil, Brody, Fara, Max, Astrid.
Showtime needs to write and deliver Quinn Prequel Missions. Explore the character's background, further reveal Dar Adal's off the book hitmen. The house where Quinn had flashbacks to, in New York with the diner nearby. SHOWTIME - if you want to excite the fans with a jolt, NEW QUINN MATERIAL.
I usually don't like to double dip but I've had some time to think about it and I'm saying Quinn is the most complex character next to Carrie and Brody. Across his character arc, we watch as Quinn is pulled between the light and his own dark nature. When we meet him, he's a cool customer with no reservation about pulling the trigger on those he's ordered to kill.
Now in season 2, he's softened by his fondness for Carrie and by season's end, refuses to kill Brody for Carrie's sake. Across season 3, we see him becoming increasingly disillusioned by the mission of the CIA and by season 4 he wants out altogether, wants to be done with killing. I think at the end of the season, he's very well ready to shack up with Carrie and Franny and live a "normal" life. Unfortunately, when Carrie spurns him, his dark nature pulls him back to the thing he's good at. Still, I think we see this pull between the light and the dark within Quinn in lesser ways across his final two seasons and the two aspects of his character come together and resolve at the end of S6.
In sacrificing himself, he both saves the woman he loves and goes out on the terms of a warrior, in battle.
Clare danes and mandy patinkin NOT for rupert friend so he's gone after exploiting his phenomenal acting talent. Quinn could have definitely recovered from foot drop and aphasia with therapy and been directing black ops so all a spin saying he couldn't. Writers did not honor soldiers affected with ptsd or war injuries rather made them look expendable. Seson 2 episode 4 throughout season 6 let the attraction between quinn and carrie solidify right up until they murdered quinn!!!!
We can say that Quinn was one of the best-built characters in history - alongside Carrie, Saul, Brody and Dar Adal... It would be possible to clarify the following doubts:
    - I would like to see Homeland reveal how the CIA explained Brody in Iran and his death to the American press. Clearly, Javadi being able to take credit for capturing Brody helped his cause in Iran, but did the US government reveal Brody's role in Akbari's murder? Was his name cleared for the CIA attack? I'd love to know what you thought.
    - Another loose thread: Paul Franklin and the murder of the "real" CIA bomber. You just did that ... why ??
Carrie was publicly humiliated, beaten, doped, shot and put her life on the line countless times without hesitation, just to make others see Brody as she saw him ... and succeeded. Abu Nazir, the CIA, Jessica and the show's own audience, no one came close to seeing Brody with the clarity Carrie has always seen. Carrie has always read Brody like no one else.
Ah, Carrie's dialogue with Javadi was awesome, it will be one of the most memorable moments of the series, without a doubt!
"And what you wanted, which was for everyone to see in him what you see. That has happened. Everyone sees him through your eyes now ..."
    - How did Carrie see Brody? and how did the US come to see it? It's the world?
I will never forget Quinn, you never got the credit you really deserved. You miss it now and forever.

Following Quinn's death, Carrie finds photographs among his belongings, including one of Julia and his newborn son. (America First)

Terrific scene. Just like that other deleted Julia scene, it really is such a shame that it was left on the cutting room floor. Does so much for Quinn’s character and Rupert and Diaz’s actress play it fantastically.

Wow! I've never seen this deleted scene before. Anybody watch Shoshone knew that Quinn had a really rough from the time he was a teenager and that he had a son but the scene bring something to context of his character. It helps us to understand him better. I don't know about you but I always thought Quinn and Carrie deserved each other and be happy. I'm not bitching the direction the series took the characters I'm just saying there was a point where I think a lot of people were rooting for them and then was gassed that was it. And although I would like to see Carrie wind up with a healthy Quinn, the ending the writers chose in step for Carrie

"when he phoned Julia when he was struggling with his conscience (in hope of what? Keeping her around? Absolutely manipulative I'd say)"
Dude this is it! When he called Julia and learned that Julia's married and he looked absolutely devastated, I was like umm? That's kinda your choice though... idk why you wallow in self-pity and woe is me instead of.... idk be responsible for it. Carrie ended up leaving her daughter behind but she took 100% responsibility and accepted the truth that she did it to herself. And the manipulation too. Did he really want Julia to just stay single AND receive his cheques? Wth?
Quinn said it himself: not everyone’s fit to be a parent.
