The melody is kinda unsettling, distorted almost if you didnt know it was talking about cats and dogs you wouldn't know what it was about and find it creepy
To me this sounds more sad than anything, since the sentences are simple and the instrumental has recorders. (a childish sounding instrument?) The song is also about being yourself. Idk, something about a kid comparing being yourself to animals being animals (and not having to think about how others perceive them for the most part) just hits me yk. Or maybe i’m looking too much into this lol

When a song seems unsettling the meaning is nothing bad and When a song seems happy and joyful the meaning is very disturbing
