A huge thank for these videos! I am a mature student, hoping to start a Nutritional Therapy Degree next year. I don't have a science A' level so am working through a science access course and your videos have proved to be so helpful. Short enough to hold my attention but detailed enough to cover the necessary content. The animations are really good too! I wish you'd been around in the 80s when I was at school!

How do you crack decane with an equation without any given alkene or alkane?

Hi. one quick question, why do you write ethane as C2 H4 instead of C2 H6
ethANE is an alkANE the general formula of alkanes is CnH2n+2, but on 4:48 the screen shows the product ethENE which is an alKENE hence their general formula is CnH2n so C(2)H2(2) = C2H4

Can I ask why in 3:11 it must need to be (7xC) + (3xC)? Why can't it be (6xC) + (4xC) or others??
