As a dirt track race car driver and someone who loves racing with all my heart, I am behind this idea 100% and think it is the coolest idea I have come across in a long time. I see this going places and having a very promising future to be honest. The sport has everything it needs, easy to get into, full of action, pilots people can support, and a very fun spectator sport... Imagine in a stadium like Dallas cowboys stadium in Texas, sitting there and seeing the leaders blow by overhead in a close race for the lead.. Man im psyched to see where this goes in the future and will definitely be at my next local race
+Gary Numan honestly, anything will change. so far "entertainment" has been really stable. but these kind of things will revolutionize the way we look at sport and leisure. "this will never be popular" was said about everything that everyone has. :p the same pattern counts for what people do. jobs, fun, sport. :p there will be a digital olympics one day. pretty sure of that.
Watched you on Fox and Friends this morning! This is really a fascinating hobby and sport, I only wish I was younger and my hands a little less shaky so I could fly these things! Good luck and best wishes to your endeavors. Best regards, Mick Bradford
+DoctorWeeTodd If you think about it, with their headsets on, seeing what the drone sees in front of it, flying around at high speed, it kinda is like podracing! Only, you know, without the threat of being killed at any second.
Can you imagine if they put Formula 1 levels of money and R&D into the DRL? What if companies like Red Bull, Tesla, and SpaceX each started a team and started really investing and pushing limits? Drone technology would increase a decade in terms of current progress in just a year or two. Let's hope for a very fast and very fun DRL future!
+neverfearchrisishere Huh? Never searched for FPV on youtube? The top pilots right now are from the US and Australia... Not knocking the South Koreans, but they haven't really been at the forefront of the sport. This group may change that, however.
"eSports (also known as electronic sports, esports, e-sports, competitive (video) gaming, professional (video) gaming, or pro-gaming) can be defined as a form of mind sports where the primary aspects of the sport are facilitated by video games; the input of players and teams as well as the output of the eSports system ..." (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ESports) and the definition of sport sport spôrt noun 1. an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment. "team sports such as baseball and soccer" synonyms: (competitive) game(s), physical recreation, physical activity, physical exercise, athletics; pastime "we did a lot of sports" 2. informal a person who behaves in a good or specified way in response to teasing, defeat, or a similarly trying situation. "go on, be a sport!" verb 1. wear or display (a distinctive or noticeable item). "he was sporting a huge handlebar mustache" synonyms: wear, have on, dress in; More 2. amuse oneself or play in a lively, energetic way. "the children sported in the water" (taken from google) As you can see, this definitely fits the definition of eSport better, while it can be argued whether this could qualify as a video game, there is simply just not enough physical exertion to qualify this as a sport.
So I've been looking to do an acrobatic drone stunt video for a good while now. I've got a Phantom camera, 100k subscribers, and a lot of fun ideas. Hit me up if you guys might be interested in a collab! Either way, this looks extremely awesome and I'm looking forward to seeing this series take off.
Looks awesome, but more shots from the perspective of the driver/drone would be more fun to watch than just the drones from a distance. Other than that love the vids!
+SomeRandomDave You know, that might be possible! Since they have on VR headsets, or whatever they technically are, they could put in a program that lets them see, say, a turtle shell coming at them from behind or ahead! I don't think they would, since they seems to be more about skill than anything else (and an intense resistance to motion sickness!), but it still is neat to think that they could do that, perhaps as a bonus round or something.

Awww Yiss. Filled out an application! Subscribed
It’s crazy how much the sport has changed
This looks pretty dope, but...
"Drone pilots are going to be the new sports heroes."
I doubt that. 😂😂
+Zethan Duke They totally will be! Just look at all the battle bots celebs... oh wait...
+Zethan Duke Maybe in Korea.
maybe if they put a handgun in the front of those drones it would be a sport
+Zethan Duke professional gamers are quite famous now? so why not this?
+Gary Numan honestly, anything will change. so far "entertainment" has been really stable. but these kind of things will revolutionize the way we look at sport and leisure.

I hope this breaks the barrier more than sports like paintball couldn't ...never know but I support it!!

Watched you on Fox and Friends this morning! This is really a fascinating hobby and sport, I only wish I was younger and my hands a little less shaky so I could fly these things! Good luck and best wishes to your endeavors.
Best regards,

Really liked this video, thumbs up. Cheers from Sint Maarten
Now this is podracing!
+DoctorWeeTodd If you think about it, with their headsets on, seeing what the drone sees in front of it, flying around at high speed, it kinda is like podracing! Only, you know, without the threat of being killed at any second.
yeah
I hope I'm not the only one who gets that reference.
+Transformersfan48
Yeah, because the Star Wars franchise has such a small fanbase
Evan Douglas No. Star Wars The Phantom Menace has a small fanbase. Usually people who hate the movie don't remember a line like that
I race drones in Idaho. it really is the sport of the future everyone is building one. ThrustUAV RIOT 250 RR

Can you imagine if they put Formula 1 levels of money and R&D into the DRL?

Drone technology would increase a decade in terms of current progress in just a year or two.
Let's hope for a very fast and very fun DRL future!

+Drone Racing League how much does such drones cost
apparently they range from $89-$899.
So much hype, it's a shame nobody even notices their videos now.
Epic video
what's the name of this song
You just know that if this takes off then all the best players will be personality-less South Koreans.
+neverfearchrisishere Huh? Never searched for FPV on youtube? The top pilots right now are from the US and Australia... Not knocking the South Koreans, but they haven't really been at the forefront of the sport. This group may change that, however.

+metalldanny Would be great to connect. What's the best way to reach you?
+Drone Racing League Skype: Danny Metall • Email: Danny.m.74@hotmail.com
+Drone Racing League how would one contact you guys about competition
+metalldanny Wuhuuu ME TOO
+Morgan kz15 Is the virus in it free or do i have to pay for it?
"Drone"=Quadcopter/Multi rotor. "Pilot"= Operator. If it can't fly by itself, it's not a drone.
This... actually seems kind of cool.
Hooooooooooooooooooooooly Sh*t Just awesome......
i honestly think that this isnt a sport, but more of an esport.
+Dill Pickle please define esport?
"eSports (also known as electronic sports, esports, e-sports, competitive (video) gaming, professional (video) gaming, or pro-gaming) can be defined as a form of mind sports where the primary aspects of the sport are facilitated by video games; the input of players and teams as well as the output of the eSports system ..." lol I do like 50 100 yard dashes in a day of flying just retrieving my quad. That's probably more than you've done all month.
Visors and hover car racing... Welcome to the future

I feel like making my own drone now
AWESOME
well that's pretty cool
very nice
When f1 dies we come to this I swear to god
pretty nice!
But what's that epic soundtrack?
actually, kickboxing is the sport of the future.
Looks awesome, but more shots from the perspective of the driver/drone would be more fun to watch than just the drones from a distance. Other than that love the vids!
Put some guns on dose things and we got ourselves a new mario kart spin-off
+SomeRandomDave You know, that might be possible! Since they have on VR headsets, or whatever they technically are, they could put in a program that lets them see, say, a turtle shell coming at them from behind or ahead!
