      Just a side bit, there are medications that jails won't give and won't ween off of. Some of these are actually anti withdrawal and anti abuse meds. Not saying that's the case here, but someone could be on anything from pain killers to psych meds and if the jail feels it's abusable or just isn't approved by the jails contracted health services group then that's it. Methadone, Suboxone, benzodiazapenes, etc. Even non narcotic meds that the jail simply feels are 'desirable' by inmates are often denied. Just a note on medications/drug treatment in jail.

    The parents of the tether-removal defendant needs to stop enabling her. They are clearly paying for an attorney, I suspect that they have paid for her cars, insurance, fines, Bonds, given her money she then turned around and used for drugs. First, the parents need to know that their daughter is almost certainly lying to them, leaving out damning details, painting herself as the victim, unlucky, treated unfairly, etc. Second, if they don't want their daughter to die or be involved in someone's death (via impaired driving, drug use, firearms), they need to stop "helping." If they love their daughter, they need to step back and let the full consequences of her actions to land as severely as possible. So, leave her to the public defender, no more paying for Bond, etc.

      He knew she wasn't going to get leniency but he had to ask simply because it was his job. With all the circumstances she had with violating probation, cutting her tether, new charges, etc he knew there was no chance she was not getting jail....But as her attorney he was obliged and obligated to at least ask no matter how outrageous the request was. Same as every other defense attorney that asks for leniency no matter how horrible their clients crimes were.

    • @greenman6141
      @greenman6141 4 месяца назад

      @@patrickbrinkmeier1858 Exactly. He was doing his job. I rather liked the way he didn't spend 20 minutes waffling and making promises. He just repeated the script he was given: "job, applying to colleges"
      (note: a ham sandwich can apply to a college, being ACCEPTED, and then ATTENDING, and THEN PASSING are the really key parts)
      And I remember her previous "job", which DiSanto described as "sitting on a couch using cocaine" which was all that she was doing.
      The last time I saw her she was watching someone else's Zoom appearance while awaiting her own. She was in jail...and very obviously completely high.
      This time, we can see what is important to her:
      - to be out of jail ( so she can get drugs)
      - but not tethered to her parents' house (so she can get drugs)
      Obviously she ran from her parents' house last time, cut her tether and has spent 5 months living with other drug users, probably shop lifting and selling the stolen items for cash. That was how she was caught...with a bunch of people shop lifting. She said she had paid for her items, all that means is she was the person causing a diversion while the other people did the stealing. And like robbing a bank...the getaway driver is just as guilty as the people with the Trump masks on.
      Her parents are likely totally terrified and are in living hell if she is home and in living hell if she's off living the drug life.
      She's a complete addict.
      There is a horribly good chance that the next 20 years will see her in and out of jail, getting rougher, doing harder drugs, living by stealing and soon by prostitution. Getting beat up and robbed. Beating up and robbing other people. If she's lucky, after 20 years she might crawl out of it, looking 65, covered in tattoos, weighing 80lbs , with no teeth and 4 children, who will be in and out of foster care...which means they'll be being abused, because that's what happens in the "care" system.
      And that is IF she lives..

    The first defendant (Logan) comes off as sketchy; first, because he lies about making his court payment, but also because he keeps saying "That would've been (such-and-such date)" when asked when he did something. When someone knows they HAVE done something, they'll say "That WAS around..." When they say that WOULD HAVE been...", they're impying "IF it had occurred" and are usually found to be lying afterwards.

    I violated, had a warrant for 13 years. Finally turned myself in two years ago, my original case was continued with a finding but because I owed like 7k in restitution I was looking at jail. (Took the blame for my older boyfriend- Larceny over $250 and receiving a lost card.) Since covid things changed regarding restitution and everything got dismissed. Feels good to not have to look over my shoulder anymore.

      @@tommymayfield814 yeah I know it’s crazy. I swear I have ptsd though from it lol I was on the methadone clinic which is why I refused to turn myself in. A few things convinced me to turn myself in. One, they can’t lock you up for only restitution in MA anymore. Two, they started giving methadone in jail where I live if you were on it already. I only managed to stay out of the way of cops because I didn’t drive and didn’t break the law anymore lol. I almost almost fainted when they said it was getting dismissed. Probation wanted them to extend my probation and have me keep paying, but I was laid off during Covid so the judge said that was it. It’s crazy to think I only came into contact with police ONCE in that time, I CALLED them not knowing I had the warrant yet, but they didn’t run my name. That was their one change to grab me before my 13 year run lol

      I agree, her lawyer is living in la la land if he thought she was going to be released or even have her charges expunged. Expungement requirements are strict and it takes years. In my state, you have to have 10 years crime free and have no violent crimes or felonies. I don’t know what Michigan’s rules are but I know they have to be crime free for a number amount of years, they have to do something that gives back to the community and a valid reason why they need the crimes expunged like to get a better job. And I think she’s scratching from the withdrawal. Withdrawal can cause you to feel itchy. Or she could have lice… lice is very common in jails. They usually make you shower with delousing shampoo upon admission before they release you to gen. Pop. But some girls don’t use the shampoo when they are supposed too because it’s very damaging to your hair without conditioner and conditioner is only available in commissary. The only thing the jail gives you is a toothbrush and a comb. Everything else has to be purchased from commissary. Including deodorant. All jails are different though.

    @greenman6141 4 месяца назад +2

    36:02 And SHE"S BACK!!! Why am I not surprised.
    She has quite the history. About a year ago she was arrested for some reason.
    She was hit with drug charges. She was released on a bond on some ineffective sort.
    Told to stop using drugs, live at home, find employment, and do regular drug tests.
    She never turned up for drug tests.
    Warrant went out for her to come to court.
    She Zoomed in. DiSanto asked why she wasn't IN Court "oh, I didn't know I had to be, I'm pretty sure I was told I didn't need to come in personally." DiSanto told her to be in court in person in 30 minutes, or be jail for much longer.
    Mom pushed her into court 20 minutes later.
    DiSanto said "test her" and said to her, "what'll we find". Natasha finally admitted to weed and coke. DiSanto asked why she was using, Natasha gave one of the most round about reasons ever. She explained that because she hadn't been going for drug testing, she hadn't stopped using. She believed that she could continue to use, up until she tested. But since she was failing to test...she could "legally" continue to use.
    DiSanto asked about finding employment. Natasha said she had a job. "What job" DiSanto asked. "I work with my Mom" DiSanto replied, "this job requires you to use weed and coke?".
    Natasha did a LOT of trying to act little girl cute in court. Lots of opening her eyes really WIDE and biting her lip and putting her head on one side.
    DiSanto said, "you need to find employment with someone who isn't a relative, where you get a pay stub" Which made Natasha think that she was going home. And she started smiling.
    She stopped smiling when DiSanto said, "Bond revoked". She turned her head so fast...a begging look at her mother.
    After that she appeared a couple of times from jail on Zoom. And on at least ONE of those occasions she was very obviously completely high.
    I wondered when she'd turn up again.

    • @bonniesimpson1636
      @bonniesimpson1636 4 месяца назад +2

      Of course she's back. And remember the part where Judge told her to dress more appropriately to come into court than she was for Zoom? • @greenman6141

      @@bonniesimpson1636 Oh! I missed that second in court appointment.
      Darn. I would loved to have seen that; to get the full story.
      I find this woman curious to watch.
      She is usually so without "affect". Which seems to mean that she doesn't really show much response to anything.
      The close of this session had her showing the most animation and engagement that I've seen. I mean the part when she was hoping that she'd already served her full sentence for the original offense.
      I guess she didn't gather that breaking bond conditions comes with their own sets of sanctions.
      It was also interesting to see what she was most focused on this time...apart from the desire to not be in jail ie not separated from access to drugs.
      She wants to NOT live with her parents. Which I assume is also about not wanting to be separated from access to drugs.
      I do feel bad for her parents. I've seen a number of families where all their children are fine, but one. And how this just tears everyone up.
      They must be terrified about what her prospects in life are becoming.
      When she cut off the gps tether, she went to live with other druggies, getting by on shop lifting. Dealing and prostitution can't be much father behind.
      I wonder if she's broken into her parents' and stolen all their electronics and jewellery yet. And guns, if they keep those.
      That'll happen at some point.
      I can't help but wonder why she ended up this way.
      In the families I know where this happened, it appeared to just be that one child had a more difficult, and unpleasant, personality.
      Her story could be quite different.
      One never knows.

    Just another person who believes they should be able to do whatever she wants and everyone should leave her alone. Cutting her tether off is proof of that. She was given a chance to prove herself OUTSIDE of jail with a tether. She failed. That means she hasn't learned her lesson. She hasn't learned discipline. She has the mindset that she can do as she pleases. We can't just do whatever we want in this country. We have laws for a reason. All the people who believe they don't have to obey our laws get hit with either fines or jail time. Depending on the severity of the law they broke. This is meant to teach us that we shouldn't do it again or break any other laws. Laws are not made for us to break then go to jail and beg for mercy and hope its your lucky day. I'm 62. Never been to jail, prison, never been on probation or parole. I did get a speeding ticket when I was a teenager in 1980. That ticket taught me a lesson. That I MUST obey our laws or pay the price. Unfortunately so many other people concider a ticket as just a "speed bump" in life and continue on in their unlawful ways. They are not smart enough to figure out thats why our prisons are overcrowded. They are full of people who believe they can do as they please. Personally I believe our punishment system is to lieniant. The punishments no longer make people think before they break our laws or commit crimes. The punishments are not enough to make people think twice before they do these crimes. I will be the first to admit that I believe whatever crime you commit, you should have done back to you only on a more severe level. I believe THAT would lower our prison population. However you murder someone. You should have the same done to you. Let you feel that pain but only on a higher level than you inflicted. If you stole from someone. Have double stolen from you. If you cheat someone, you get cheated on double the amount. God created our TEN COMMANDMENTS for a reason. Just because he sacrificed his only son for our sins didn't give us a "free get out of jail" card. We are supposed to OBEY and live by those ten commandments. It is so obvious to me in this day and time this generation has either forgotten them or CHOOSE to ignore them.

I understand she's dealing with criminals but she comes off soo abrasive and like she really hates that she even has to be bother w any of these people. Imagine if you caught a moving violation and had to go in front of her? Her whole vibe is hate mode. Is like she's not impartial is like she's already decided your thrash before you even got in front of her. She does this thing w her face like she disgusted it amazes me that not one of this defendant has ever mentioned it. She also be rolling her eyes and frowning, so unprofessional. Even if you think they thrash have some humanity, attempt to be impartial. She has hate in her blood😢 This judge is a nightmare even for the attorneys.😮
