You ll get it this music is hard as hell that's why it's so damn good all my life I've listened to fz and love every minute of it and I'm 72 how's that ever sense the 60sbeforr you cats were born bless all of you
I’ve been fan of Frank Zappa and the Mother’s since Freak Out, and I have listened to his whole discography-at least all that was available a few years ago. It took me about six months to do it. I saw Frank and the Mothers in 1974 in a little venue in Salt Lake City, Utah called The Terrace, and to this day it is one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to because everybody that made a noise was up on stage. There was like 20 people and it was amazing! I so admire your talent as your own musician, but also for going out there and performing your dad’s songs. I just think that’s phenomenal. I saw you at the Experience Hendrix tour a few years ago at Eccles Theatre in downtown Salt Lake. Billy Cox and Zak Wylde were also in the lineup, and I would definitely go see you if you and your band ever make it to Salt Lake playing your dad’s stuff-that would be so cool❗️
SO AWESOME!! We have tickets to the show on Thursday the 9th at the Golden State Theater!!! It was going to be a VIP event but we got notice that while the tickets would still be good, the VIP portion of the evening was not available anymore. They refunded the difference, so no worries! SO EXCITED TO SEE THE BAND AND DWEEZIL!!
Zach, you know you're super-duper talented, my brother. But there's no way you'll be able to pull off that stunt. It can't be done. But it was a lot of fun watching you try. 😃
So Beautiful to see what happens when people open up their minds musically this music is not to be centrally scrutinized can't wait till it's ready for localized consumption got my shoes and socks on already
WOW!! Upper case fully intended. That song is sounding amazing, from bare bones to that in only a few weeks, I hope one way or another I get to hear the whole thing. The multi tasking of any Zappa band is always something to behold, I almost cheered when Zach pulled that one off. The audience probably will too
So much packed into this video! Triplet Metric Modulation, drumstick explosion(s), pteradactyl references! Love the sound of the lost song, can't wait to see y'all on tour!
Man, Zach has some serious coordination skills going on! I love all of this behind-the-scenes content. I'm sure you'll all kill it on the tour. I wish I could make it a show, but I live off-grid in the sticks and can't easily leave the homestead during the winter months. I'll send positive mental energy your way, though.
HEY ZACH! If I may, I offer a logistical suggestion, speaking as a guitarist who can't play drums. It's not like I think I could execute this crazy maneuver myself, but I can see a problem. I know, so many people think that to look cool playing guitar with the thing over their belt buckle. Get the guitar UP higher. Think Steve Howe, John McLaughlin, Eric Johnson, et cetera. Do the percussion with your left arm BELOW the guitar neck. Just focusing on the left hand getting to the guitar; you have to perform these movements: -drop the sticks -pull your left arm back behind the plane of the fingerboard -lower your arm below the level of the neck -move the arm forward under the neck bringing your left hand out in front of the plane of the fingerboard -bring the left hand back to the neck Instead, if you play the percussion with your arm under the guitar neck, it becomes: -drop the sticks -bring the left hand back to the neck On the other side of the business, I would probably try playing the percussion bit with the pick in my mouth, dropping the sticks and reaching up yanking the pick out and down to the strings. Good luck with this, you madman!
The 'new' lost Zappa song is sounding great from what I can tell so far...cant wait to hear the whole thing!!! And poor Zack...a great guitarist, but of course he has to run the Zappa gauntlet... Zack: " I got this..." Zappa " I hear Linda Ronstadt is looking for a new guitar player!" Of course now days, Dweezil could have said Kesha needams a new guitar player, etc
Fabulous show last night!!! I can always count on a top-notch band and a top-notch performance. Kudos!! The new bands members knocked it out of the park! Can't get enough electric piano! Zach was phenomenal but did look a bit like Weird Al at times. (Sorry 😁) One suggestion, and this is not something unique to the band or the performance: Have the venues turn off the sub-woofers or only feed them < 30 hz. Venue subs will just bury other instruments. I thought this may be just an issue with sitting up close, but I walked back by the desk, and it was the same thing. It did appear to get a bit better through the show. Some venues (House of Blues in Dallas) have damages subs, and that really makes it a distraction. The musicianship in the band is absolutely incredible, and as hard as the band has worked in rehearsals, you deserve to have every note heard. IMHO, subs should only be used for pre-recorded music. BTW, who won the taco eating contest? Is the bus specially fitted for excursions to Mexican restaurants? 😁
The song has tightened up a lot in a short space of time. It sounds recordable in its present state. It is really good. Also, the strat like guitars change up the sound in the best way.
LOVE these videos!! That drum fill calls to mind Prince's Take Me With U. Maybe he could get some of those Tony Levin finger extenders and play drums and guitar without dropping anything. LOVE the orange guitar. More info please?
@Dweezil, great stuff! Come to Munich pa-lease! It’ll be worth it! It’s been almost 20(!) years since I’ve seen you guys at Circus Krone with ZPZ! One of the first Zappa songs I ever heard was Sharleena on YCDTOSA 3 with you on guitar…
Dweezil i refuse to go to any of your shows until you play the 84 tour version if baby take your teeth out. It is a disgrace that you haven't done it yet. Truly a Shakespearean tragedy. Perchance.
For any remaining peeps who assume a band decides to tour then packs the plane…rehearsal is real-tedious, often excruciating and fun as hell with your friends
Hello, the day you learn b oth your drummer, and the guitar solo from the song Shut Up n Play yer guitar, the Short first song..I come to your show...denmark
I hope your homes and families are safe out west. I hope all will be good for you guys. See ya soon hopefully next week.
Love all this new Dweezil content. Liking and commenting for the algorithm. 🎉

Hell yes, that track is sounding good. Zero doubt you guys are going to kill it on this tour.

🌠SOUNDS GOOD ..EVERYTHINGS GONNA BE ALRIGHT ..SEE YA WHEN YER ON THE EAST COAST
Way cooler when the stick is still in his hand as he kicks in the guitar :)
What was that line? “Boy, it sure looks a little slippery over there in the percussion section…”
Monster playing Zach. The lost song has been found 🎉
Looking forward to the Jacksonville show on the 24th!
LOVE these videos!! That drum fill calls to mind Prince's Take Me With U. Maybe he could get some of those Tony Levin finger extenders and play drums and guitar without dropping anything. LOVE the orange guitar. More info please?

Dweezil, I have heard from reliable sources that your dad was a perfectionist.
Just saying. Haha ❤
Anybody heard if Dweezil has been affected by the fires? Toluca Lake?
Wow, every last one of you are sick, lol i know you know this already!!Thats fricken RIDICULOUS!! 😳
Who is in his band? Thanks very much. I hope my back heals well enough to go to your Toronto concert. It is in a great theater.❤
Does the mustard yellow strat have DiMarzio's in it? It's killer
It is his signature model watch specs. And no Lollar pick ups.Humbucker El Rayo at bridge and Special S single coils.
