▶ ABOUT THE VIDEO
"Friends on the Other Side" is a song from the 2009 animated film The Princess and the Frog. It was written by Randy Newman and is sung by Keith David, the voice of the film's villain, Doctor Facilier. It depicts Facilier beginning his plan to take over New Orleans by first deceiving Prince Naveen while at the same time, getting his valet, Lawrence, to become his ally. The song is reprised later in the film when he fails and is dragged into the spirit world.

The princess and the Frog has always been my favorite Disney film; the jazzy rhythms, New Orleans, voodoo and swing. Just everything about that film is so perfect.

Interesting fact, apparently, Poor Unfortunate Souls follows some old Russian folk music where it starts really mellow then picks up as much as it does.

no word can describe how much i love this movie. the princess and the frog had the best princess, best villain, and they depicted voodoo really well. my favorite characters are Tiana and Charlette. Charlette may have been rich and spoiled, but she was sweet and Tiana's best friend. the story takes place in the 20's, which makes the it even better. Charlette literally bought Tiana's restaurant ( from when she gave Tiana a bunch of money for her to make food for the dance thing. she didn't realize that at first, but was happy when Tiana said so, from what i remember ), and in the end even though she didn't get the prince, she was still there for Tiana and was happy for her. and i love how the prince was kind of a scum at first, but ends up falling in love with Tiana before she could fall in love with him. its a cute story, and my favorite Disney movie :p

This matches my exact thoughts on this movie! It's really refreshing to see a "princess" movie that's outside of royalty and whatnot.
I love pretty much every remix or cover that I've seen from this movie, but to be completely honest, I've never actually watched the movie itself.
My younger sister adored it when it came out(rightfully so, by all accounts), but I was a teenager at that time, and as such felt almost magnetically repulsed by anything she got too into.
Might be time to fix that, now that I'm thinking about it.

Great remix, the one part at 0:57 is so tiny but so good, his shoulder sway and face transforming at the same time as the Piano plays for a split second is just absolutely nailing the ending part of the small beat and onto the repeat of the chorus.

The piano solo (I wish I could play like that, honestly) and the beat drop was what got me struck. I grew up with Princess and The Frog and this was my favorite song, because I thought all the other ones were too "emotional", lol. This song reallllly stuck with me and this remix took it to a level of excellence I've only seen in a few songs. I can tell you worked on this with eagerness that I can feel from the other side of the screen. Another thing I liked was it still gave off that same feeling of mystery I got from the original song, just with a bit more fun! I LOVE IT!
