Even just from watching this video i can already tell this approach is 100% effective and efficient way of learning. I love your tutorials. The name SCIENCE of Learning Powermoves fits perfectly. I can do upto 10 - 15 flares but they are nowhere close to how clean and high yours are. Im so inspired. after work im going to straight to practice.
Thanks man. I already practiced the flare. The thing about these tutorials is you can just jump in when you need. If you are stuck at a certain part you can just jump in where needed.
Hey bboy Avil, First I am glad to hear that some sections of exercises already made you learn. I did one workshop recently in Holland of the SOLPM and some people learned windmill basically in one day. Incredible...this shows that people are learning well before the suggested time and this makes me happy. I noticed that you have been very active and commenting about new tutorials.
Thank you! Simply train the exercises of this video. This tutorial is made exactly so that people correct their legs, develop the right strength and learn it correctly. Train from step 1. There will be no mistake!
Congratulations. It seems that many people are learning much faster than the time the video proposes. This is only a structure for learning systematically but if in middle of they way you master the move then you overcame yourself.
Here's a story about this video that I have been working on flare for over six months On Step 1-4, it took me about two hours to reach all the way to 200 reps per day and it was a pain in the ass. In Step 5, I thought l suppose to do 100 per reps and it took me about two months to do that. In Step 6,7,and 8, it was very easy for me because I like the word "Muscle Memory". My muscle memory can even scan my work from doing a flare. Also, l sweat a lot completely wasting almost two hours of doing this. Step 9 and 10, my left leg almost popped out, but l know how to heal it but keep sitting there like an idiot and wait for it to heal for about five minutes. I will recommend this video to anyone who wanted to learn flare. Thank you Bboy Guinho(The Science of Learning Powermove) for helping me learning flare :)
Today's my very first day doing this training.. it's super difficult! I barely did 20 of these... but then again I was doing a lot of pushups before this. But I can definitely feel it working and I know that I shouldn't be doing other work outs before this one. Thanks for the video!
Bro i was searching elbow flare video and your clip came out...and then i was like wow....you have the best elbow flares bro...and you are very flexable...you are my inspiration on flexablity..
THIS WAY OF LEARNING IS AWESOME !!! I had trouble with getting into my 2nd flare. after doing only few times these exercices, I can do 2 flares now !! Thank you for this tutorial man !! =)
I'm very pleased with effort that's got in to create the video and structure it and fact that you want to the share the knowledge.. You have the best flare and air flares I've seen so far .. Thanks a lot from India
thank you for this. It is nice to see a tutorial about how actual progress is made. I am having trouble with continous flares right now so i will start this progression tommorow.
Just had to drop a comment here. Aii, so I've wanted to do flares for a while.. Gave up on flares and bboying since most tutorials were discouraging. Came across this channel this morning and DAMNNNN. This is exactly what I needed. I sped through the steps since I had a little muscle memory. My wrists hurt a bit since I was rather over enthusiastic, but I can see myself perfecting this in a month or so. Currently at stage 7. :) Thanks a lot, man.
depends which way you do other powermoves etc. if you do your windmill with a right freeze, do it like in the video, otherwise you won't be able to connect them and you have to learn one the other way around. if you don't know any powermoves yet, it's nothing to worry about, as long as you make sure to learn other powermoves in the same direction
Thank you for your comment and remark. When the videos says "do 2000 times during 2 weeks" this implies that you will do it on average 5 days per week. 2 days are for relaxing. Since we did not state this detail in the video some viewers assume that they need to train 7 days a week but it is actually around 5. This is btw an average and you can do it in your own way.
I have just started with it. Did 200 (100 in morning n 100 in evenin ) N i m very much sure that tht i ll b doin flares in 6 months :) Great Video Waitin for more of yours :)
thank you for this video... I'm 32 years old now and been out of the game for about 6 years... My approach to practicing is to be very concise, and eliminate all possible causes of injury. I've been searching for an instructional video for flares that would suit my purpose and this is it. If I am able to execute at least two, I will upload a video and give you credit
You should do a windmill from standing vid...I know thats childs play but I like the way you break down the steps and I think that would help me learn better
np! Look, follow the steps of this tutorial and it is enough. This tutorial is exactly for people like you who want to develop strength or have difficulties maintaining the legs in the air for instance. During 2 months you will already be able to correct your kicking leg as you mentioned.
Flare is my favorite move. We trained it with friends for 10 years ago. But I had always problems after the first round. This tutorial is the best so far what I have seen. If I begin with flare anyday then I will train it in this way. Thanks.
Wow! Flares seem WAY less daunting if you train it in little bits at a time. Could you also make a tutorial for an airchair or jackhammers/crickets? Thanks!
the repetition will make you light. No momentun for now because the intention is only to strengthen your legs. Concerning the throwndown to flare the SOLPM might do a tutorial about this in the future but there are some others which are due to come first. Thank you.
Yes...at the beginning it is ok to slide because the focus is on the exercises like holding your legs in the air. Well...any shoes that slide or put some socks on it.
might be that you are not dragging your leg. Try to drag it smoothly and regard it as one exercise not the real flare. You will start to kick with impact only in step 10. At the beginning the wrist can hurt a bit..try to stretch it before and concentrate on puttin your hand as light as possible on the floor.
Normally, if you do your windmill using a freeze with your right hand, do it like in the video, otherwise you won't be able to do transitions between differrent powermoves
Hei bboy Erlandas. Thank you for you video flare progression. You can try to train the first 4 steps of this tutorial and then train back again your flare. The point is that sometimes it is better to focus on developing strength with exercises than training only the movement itself. This gives you a better coordination and strength in your legs which will make it much easier for you to do many turns in your flare.
Great tut!i'm doing this for 4 month.I can do 3 flare now but i feel heavy, and feel pain and tired my wrist and arm.Can do 200 times a day.Any advise pls?like stretching or anything...
I follow this instruction and now i can do both Flare and Elbow Flare in 8 months, it's miracle :))) But Elbow Flare makes my elbow injured ! It's pretty dangerous ! I recommended practicing Flare & Elbow Flare at the same time to strengthen your hips and get the felling of throwing your body and twist your hip in the best way . GOod luck !
B.boy Erlandas! If you cannot hold yourself in the step 1. Try to stretch a bit before. Have a longer break before you go again to the sections. The important thing is that you don't hurt yourself. But in all cases you will need to go through this process and get used to it because this section of exercises is not light at all. However, they are easy to follow. So you need to force yourself. In the first weeks it may be very heavy but then you will get used to it.
now I think about it I was putting a lot of pressure on myself to kick a flare quickly. I expected to be able to after doing the front kick motion a few times. This really proves that it takes time and has made me feel a LOT better. This is a brilliant video!
Great series, finally someone has bothered to breakdown the power moves to ever individual aspect of the move! Though on step 1 when I switch to my left hand it hits the ground with a lot of force, meaning that I have trouble getting close to the 200 reps required....any advise on where I might be going wrong? / how I can lessen the impact? or is it just a matter of the tendons, forearm and wrists strengthening up?...
I will first post (elbow flare tutorial and nutcrackers)...I had a problem in my wrist and this is delaying the chair flare tutorial. Sorry but I keep you updated about it. regards
First of all, it is a great news that you are doing 3 in the flare. Try to stretch your wrist a lot before training. Also try to drag your legs..there is no need to put a lot of momentum yet. Kick your legs smoothly and reduce the numbers for a while. For example, try to do only 50 or 100 per days so that your wrist feels comfortable. Since you can already do 3 now it is going to be easier so just reduce the rythm and then come back to it.
And yes i had one clearn round flares and i did 2000 resps of step one of airflare for 3 days and i got flares...now working on unstabbed airchairs and cleaning barrelmills...cant wait for elbow flares:Dand what about v flares they are so hard...can u please upload a compilation of all flare variations:)
When I practice these exercises for 200 attempts my right arm and shoulder get worn out. I just am up to almost complete one full flair landing on my feet in the back, but I also had to take 10 days off. Now after practice yesterday, my arm is too sore AGAIN. At this rate it will take me way longer than 6 months. I'm already at the 6 month mark and now just doing one strong flare.
ai mestre guinho quando vai sair a versão portuguesas??? to louco pra treina o flare!!! a e mas uma pergunta tipo assim eu já passo uma volta do flare sera que eu passo mas voltas antes de 6 meses??
you don't need splits to do flares just be able to do a straddle stretch at least 90 degrees. if you stretch each time you'll get more flexible every day.
how to learn more fast and quickly...... if i can do all repetation in three months can i learn it more quickly what do you say is it same for all powermoves.
hey bboy guinho Thanks for always answering my question! and sorry i got an other one: for step 2-5: do you have to count each holding as one repetition or the full exercise as one repetition? peace
try to pull your left leg very fast while holding at the same time the right one close to your ear. Train this approach 100 per day. In 2 weeks you will not be touching the floor. Thank you!
In the first exercise; is it important to keep your left leg and your hips up in the air as much as possible and lean your body back, or is it just important that your left leg is in the air no matter how high your hips are? And should I push the ground with my left arm as hard as I can? thank you!
this is video is really good, I am still working on my flares, my maximum number was 2 and a half , but only the 1st was really a flare , still have problems when the legs are on the back , this video is verry good , from the start to learn the positions and to gain strenght , I think you said 200 times a day as an averege because it depends of the body and how fast you learn , because some steps you can do it faster other slower, but I really like it , thunbs up from me :)
bro train step 4 of this tutorial and then try again..it will get a bit better..then if you want to continue to have progress just follow the other steps thank you!
I'm breakdancing for about 4 years and i still got lot of problems with flare (i'm also not a powermover but I do a lot on my hands), I thought the first exercise looked easy at all, first day of first step I was nearly dead, my wirst was painfull after the first quater of repetitions, I finish them with my mental lol Today was the 2nd day, I don't want to speed up things even if i used to do some flares i want them clean so I start from the bottom,Today was easier but not that easy even though!
Cara parabéns pelos seus videos, eles são ótimos...mas só uma pergunta,eu posso fazer apenas 100 ou tem que ser 200 vezes mesmo?! Vlw e grande abraço!!!
hey man thank you for the video !!! i have a question : if i do more exercices of each step is it all right or you wouldn't recommend it ? please answer :)
How exactly do I go from the back to the front. Like I can flare to airflare but I can't seem to do multiple flares. I can even do multiple airflare but I can't do multiple flares
bro, lost all my strength and moves due to lack of practice and didn't get much time from my job,so please help me out in my bboying moves ,so what. should I do to learn all these powermoves, and what should learn first ,I mean to say which powermove is can help me to grow my moves again. please help me i really need it. I really miss my bboying sessions .....
You will develop a better flexibility along the way by training the suggested stretching section. So you really don't need to worry about that now. Just do the exercises and keep training the stretching part!
dude... i use right hand ( for example: when i am writing) and i use the left leg ( for example: when i want to shoot a ball) from witch side i must turn my body? Is immaterial witch leg and hand u use? Sorry for my bad English... ty
hey bboy guinho This is an awesome way of learning flare and i will try it! But i think i will injury my wrist because i am also doing a lot of normal bboy training... So is it alright to do that 24000 repetitions in 12 month?
i know what my problem is, i noticed you hold with the other arm i had my right leg up trying to hold on the right arm, but i was supposed have my right leg up and my left arm.
Bro im 17 and i love powermoves and i am bboying from 2 years in my country in there are not any good powermovers...thats why im working like 8 hrs a day in powermoves....:)
drag your leg on the floor..this will lessen the impact. Kick very smoothly...this exercise is only supposed to give strength in your leg...so don't kick it with a lot of pressure. In addition...stretch more...it is always useful. Then you may do 100 per day...it is also ok! Or you can do 100 in the morning...100 in the evening...or do 50...have a longer break of 15 or 20 minutes...then 50 again... in the break...stretch your legs, wrists and relax as much as possible.
Found this awesome video yesterday, because I just wasn't having it with other videos and didn't help me enough. So I started today with step 5 because I feel that is the best part for me and my strength c: I hope it works especially in these times hahaha See you in a couple of weeks
I see that your feet easily slides when doing some of these drills. I have a similar floor, but my shoes skid. What should I do to deal with this problem? Do you recommend any types of shoes?
Even just from watching this video i can already tell this approach is 100% effective and efficient way of learning. I love your tutorials. The name SCIENCE of Learning Powermoves fits perfectly. I can do upto 10 - 15 flares but they are nowhere close to how clean and high yours are.
Im so inspired. after work im going to straight to practice.
ive never met anyone who has mastered clean flares in one month, trust me , this tutorial is awesome, and flares take months to master,
Thanks man. I already practiced the flare. The thing about these tutorials is you can just jump in when you need. If you are stuck at a certain part you can just jump in where needed.

Your tutorials are outstanding. You allow ppl to learn through progression which will allow adaption keeping possible injury to a minimum. Gr8 job!
Thanks =)

Has any one complete all this guys videos cause im learning the airflare and my flares getting exceptionally better

I think he's asking should we keep the legs in the ait between each step, or it doesn't matter if we touch the floor with the leg.
Great tut!i'm doing this for 4 month.I can do 3 flare now but i feel heavy, and feel pain and tired my wrist and arm.Can do 200 times a day.Any advise pls?like stretching or anything...
Good foundation information.
What is the music playing with video ?
I know your not asking me, but I'd suggest starting on which side feels more comfortable to you
I follow this instruction and now i can do both Flare and Elbow Flare in 8 months, it's miracle :)))

B.boy Erlandas! If you cannot hold yourself in the step 1. Try to stretch a bit before. Have a longer break before you go again to the sections.

And yes i had one clearn round flares and i did 2000 resps of step one of airflare for 3 days and i got flares...now working on unstabbed airchairs and cleaning barrelmills...cant wait for elbow flares:Dand what about v flares they are so hard...can u please upload a compilation of all flare variations:)
is working for me. I went from not being able to even start a flare to being able to do 2 rounds of flare in one month.
many of us already can do 1 flare, so can you give us a tips, what step we must start? is it from step 1 or we must start at another step?
And yes please upload chairflare tutorial as fast as u can...and thanks for making these xtreme helpfull tutorials:D
What feels most natural? I think you're supposed to do it according to which arm you freeze with, so I would guess that you should do clockwise.
ai mestre guinho quando vai sair a versão portuguesas??? to louco pra treina o flare!!! a e mas uma pergunta tipo assim eu já passo uma volta do flare sera que eu passo mas voltas antes de 6 meses??
thank you for the answer !! and if i already have one round of flare, should i start from the step 1 ?
you don't need splits to do flares just be able to do a straddle stretch at least 90 degrees. if you stretch each time you'll get more flexible every day.
how to learn more fast and quickly......
if i can do all repetation in three months can i learn it more quickly what do you say
is it same for all powermoves.
Oh Wowww... !
Thanks...
I ll keep posting about my status .
Is this stretching enough as i don't have any partner.
how many. I learn Asher fler months. well done. Exercises with your total few weeks of practice is ???
thank you bboy ghuino. Your videos helped me do clean continous flares.
hey bboy guinho
Thanks for always answering my question!
and sorry i got an other one:
for step 2-5: do you have to count each holding as one repetition or the full exercise as one repetition?
peace
did you learn flare with this strategy ? or help some special strength exercises to learn it faster ?
Thank you
try to pull your left leg very fast while holding at the same time the right one close to your ear. Train this approach 100 per day. In 2 weeks you will not be touching the floor.
Thank you!
In the first exercise; is it important to keep your left leg and your hips up in the air as much as possible and lean your body back, or is it just important that your left leg is in the air no matter how high your hips are? And should I push the ground with my left arm as hard as I can? thank you!
Hey !! can i do step 1 + step 2 as a first one step ? Thank You ! .
This helped me build really good muscle memory. I got 1 flare really quickly!
Could you send us a video?
this is video is really good, I am still working on my flares, my maximum number was 2 and a half , but only the 1st was really a flare , still have problems when the legs are on the back , this video is verry good , from the start to learn the positions and to gain strenght , I think you said 200 times a day as an averege because it depends of the body and how fast you learn , because some steps you can do it faster other slower, but I really like it , thunbs up from me :)
bro train step 4 of this tutorial and then try again..it will get a bit better..then if you want to continue to have progress just follow the other steps
thank you!
So it is better to stretch my arms before and after training
right?
Apreciate the channel bro, very nice your channel, exactly what we were searching
I'm breakdancing for about 4 years and i still got lot of problems with flare (i'm also not a powermover but I do a lot on my hands), I thought the first exercise looked easy at all, first day of first step I was nearly dead, my wirst was painfull after the first quater of repetitions, I finish them with my mental lol Today was the 2nd day, I don't want to speed up things even if i used to do some flares i want them clean so I start from the bottom,Today was easier but not that easy even though!
the SOLPM is trying to get partners to do a good 2000 tutorial.
I will keep you updated about the progress.
Thank you !
Vlw!!!
i love how elaborated this is.
especially workin on transitioning and being able to show the control on the momentum!!!
haha this works for me!
hey man thank you for the video !!! i have a question : if i do more exercices of each step is it all right or you wouldn't recommend it ? please answer :)
Great tutorial, i expected some more science ie talk of momentum, inertia, center of mass/gravity, posting, leaning, but nice breakdown and exercise.
you are so flexible.... i admire it,,,
what is exactly your problem? You can do 3-4 rounds and you want to do more now. is that correct?
Think you might be right there! I will give it another shot later.

You will develop a better flexibility along the way by training the suggested stretching section.
So you really don't need to worry about that now. Just do the exercises and keep training the stretching part!

i already can flare, but by far not as clean as yours, will this exercises also help me strongly improving mine?
hey bboy guinho
This is an awesome way of learning flare and i will try it!
But i think i will injury my wrist because i am also doing a lot of normal bboy training...
So is it alright to do that 24000 repetitions in 12 month?
you can learn faster as long as you do the exercises correctly.
And it applies to all powermoves.
i know what my problem is, i noticed you hold with the other arm i had my right leg up trying to hold on the right arm, but i was supposed have my right leg up and my left arm.
I'm whrite handed but i think that i feel more comfortable starting whit the left hand. what do i do?
Bro im 17 and i love powermoves and i am bboying from 2 years in my country in there are not any good powermovers...thats why im working like 8 hrs a day in powermoves....:)
Thanx for helping me mahn had alot of problems
I sent my video, i starting flare for 5 years ,, long time . Thanke u for reply
drag your leg on the floor..this will lessen the impact.
How long did it take you to learn one flare? two flares?
When we're around step 5..do we count 5 when we finish doing the 4 exercise or do we count 4 times 5? Peace out! Greetings all the way from Costa Rica
