when the honeymoon is over try to evade this chirping 12 hours or more a day . The conure belong in nature and not in the cage . Just like marriage a cage is the end of the love for those beatiful birds. Don't buy them and put em in a cage.
I ended up getting a sun conure through a series of events. I'd never wanted to own a bird. However, this little guy came to live with me as a rescue. He goes outside with me, his wings aren't clipped, and he's only in his cage to sleep. I've built him a play area in the garage so he can enjoy himself while we're in there, and he has his own drawer to destroy in the kitchen while I'm in there. He's a happy guy. He loves to hang out in the lilacs and in the blueberries. I've built an enclosure around the blueberries so that it's now a huge aviary for him, and he can munch safely on berries. He's a lot of work, but not every bird owner is a monster. And once they've entered the market, they need a good person to bring them home. I do agree that no bird, none, should be caged. However, I also disagree with zoos and aquariums... I believe in rescue centers and rehabilitation centers.
