In Flames 🔥 is the best melodic Death Metal band ever.🤘🏻
This album is going to be a masterpiece 🔥🤘 this song is absolutely beautiful, just fantastic melodies. Anders sounds amazing, Bjorn’s melodies are breathtaking. So good
The production needs to be mentioned too. I think it suits the "old" In Flames guitar style perfectly. A rerecord of clayman and everything before with this producer (and no stylistic changes like in the Clayman 20th Anniversary version) would be a dream come true
In Flames are in my top 3 all time favourite, so yeah, definitely album of the year 2023. 😄
They are really nailing all the good parts this album, Guitars, Drums, Cleans, Screams all of it!
They're finally letting the guitars sing again, it's been 20 years.

I'm with you man, it's been a long time since I've had a favourite album, but in this one I can't pick a favourite song, I'll think I have one, but then the next song plays and halfway in I've changed my mind
I love this second part much better than the first. My only complaint about part 1 was the chorus felt off.. but aside from that one personaly nit pick im so excited for this album.

Same producer but the sound is so much better...I am so glad they left the Siren Charms, Battles and I, The Mask approach...this has a should, essence and not plastic teenage core metal...welcome back IF!
I'm not a huge fan of Friden's clean vocals, since they're heavily edited in studio. He really wants to sing, but doesn't really have the capacity to do so. I like the clean parts in this song, but I just know, that they'll sadly be butchered live. Now growls/screams.... amazing. Anders is stil one of my favourite vocalists, when it comes to these type of vocals. They go so well with melodic riffs. It literally takes me back to their early years. This song is on constant repeat on my speakers, since they uploaded audio version on their channel a few days ago. I think it's my 2nd favourite single(1st ofc being State of Slow Decay). The Halo Effect slaughtered everyone with their album this year and it looks like the next year will belong to In Flames. Damn good times for Melodeath fan. If somehow Disarmonia Mundi decides to release something soon, I'd be in Heaven.
EXACTLY my thoughts on Anders' vocals, man
anders' cleans were fine when he did clean verses, you know like My sweet shadow, those atmospheric, not vocally demanding stuff. i also like their studio cleans up until siren charms
@@maaaaaap Yea I agree about non demanding clean vocals like in My Sweet Shadow, Ordinary Story or Only for The Weak. His voice has a nice tone, but he just can't sing. That's why that style of "speaking while singing" worked quite well. He should've sticked to it imo.
Who gives a fuck about if its edited or not as long as it sounds amazing. Anders studio cleans are easily one of the best in the industry, he almost sounds like a 20 year old lad with clean young voices. He actually can sing those lives but he chooses not to practice it and basiscally brutal vocals the cleans which is not a problem either.

Reminds me a lot of gyroscope from whoracle. The verses, not my cup of tea but the rest is really good. Good song!
There are some really good parts to this song, but I am not liking the clean parts at all. Just not my cup of tea.

this is the house that "at the gates" build. not others. there's no melo death album even close to "slaughter of the soul"
yeah, but in flames and dt released albums before sots
intro, riffing, growling and melody = 10/10... The clean singing in the verse is also very good and fitting... however... i am not thrilled with the "battles-vibe" singing on the chorus! All inn all a 7/10 song for me... the two first singles are better imo.
Album of the year could very well be insomnium especially after hearing the new single they put out !

I love this song except the part of the chorus who anders sing in clean. To my taste, it is too pop. My favourite single stay the great deceiver.
The last few releases are all better than most of what they released in the last decade(s). That said, i will never understand their obsession with stuffing so much clean cringe into their songs now :/

@@morre6894 I agree, I don’t care about things like that. I just want great songs with an emphasis on melody, and that’s exactly what In Flames do 🤘🔥🔥💚🤘 love the vocal harmonies Anders does in this track, don’t care if it’s “studio magic”

They never mix anders clean vocals well... they dont syncopate with the music well. Still a decent song overall though.
Soilwork is better
Hopefully soilwork isn't done after losing an important person in the band this year being Bjorns best friend ..
Some really good parts in this song but the extensive use of clean vocals ruins it for me
