A 14-year-old girl was on Monday alleged to have been r@ped by her landlord’s son in the Alakuko area of Lagos. The incident was brought to light by an X.com user @Rhwaley, who shared videos of the victim after the alleged crime had happened.
In the shared video on X.com which our correspondent watched on Tuesday, the minor could be seen crying and her jeans stained with bl00d. In the tweet, @Rhwaley alleged that when the minor’s family accosted the landlord about the incident, he dismissed their concerns, saying “Nothing will happen.”

Rape happens within all socioeconomic settings. The difference is, if the victim is lower down the socioeconomic ladder, they are less likely to get justice, because of the financial cost that’s attached to justice. 😢

What action is going to be taken? Guessing in typical 9ja style, it will be swept under the carpet, the parents will probably keep quiet as they don't want to lose their home. Or the landlord will try to bribe or threaten them. So glad I no longer live in Nigeria, here in the West, the man will be in custody straight away.

Where laws are weak people can be above the law . The landlord is standing on that by saying nothing will happen
