It has to be said. It has to be called out. Last night Fox News censored one of the most dramatic and crucial presentations made at the opening night of the Democratic convention. Three young women offered their personal testimonies of the anguish, hurt, damage, soul-searching, risks, and recovery they experienced when confronted with pregnancies that nearly cost them their lives due to draconian anti-abortion laws. While these three young women related their tragic circumstances to the crowd, silently both stunned and emotionally-connected, Fox News cut away and didn't, show ONE MINUTE OF THESE TESTIMONIES. I know because I switched over from one channel airing all to Fox which aired none. This media censorship was clearly intended by Fox as these stories were too powerful and heartbreaking for its viewers to confront. Instead, vapid and useless commentary by Kelly Anne Conway and others aired. After the presentations were concluded Fox returned to the convention for a short time. Then Bret Hume and the panel later complained that the Democrats were joyfully celebrating abortion. Such a lie and one that every viewer would know false, only if, Fox allowed these three stories to be seen. Never before have I experienced unAmerican and Orwellian programming such as this by a major outlet that was surely not brave and unafraid. Shame!

Although I agree with Rep. Clyburn's that the energy of the convention needs to be harnessed, as a Japanese American, I was appalled by his comparison of this energy to that of the atomic bomb. The atomic bomb is the ultimate weapon of mass destruction, and the only time its energy has been harnessed and used other than for testing, was when it was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Hundreds of thousands of innocent lives were lost. I am sure this was not Rep Clyburn's intended use of the comparison, but it was the perception, nonetheless.
My response was intended for Rep Clyburn's interview, but was carried over to this post when the next video was qued.

First - What did J. D. Vance have to do with Kentucky's abortion laws? That's Kentucky - seems like Beshear needs to be attacking the Kentucky Congressional members. The laws for the State of Kentucky have ZERO to do with J. D. Vance. J. D. Vance is from OHIO.... he didn't make the laws for Kentuckians. So sick of this B.S. from these idiots like Beshear.
Sounds like Kentucky needs to review their abortion laws - this doesn't have anything to do with J. D. Vance. If Kentuckians want their STATE abortion laws changed, then they need to contact their State Representatives.
And J. D. Vance isn't a Supreme Court Judge - he didn't overturn Roe vs. Wade. The Supreme Court did and kicked those decisions back to the state level. So Kentucky made their own laws concerning abortion. J. D. Vance or Donald Trump didn't make those laws. If Kentuckians don't like the laws made by their Representatives, then they need to get things changed right there in their own state. It's up to them - not up to J. D. Vance or Donald Trump.

I'll be helping women restore their reproductive rights at least in Florida when I vote 'YES' on our pro-choice state referendum. Federal protection is required though because this vital right should not depend on geography.
