GameBrosTMT Pele usually played behind the main CF or `no9` as its called... similar position to Messi really... the fact that both score so many goals while not being the spearhead of the attack speaks volumes for their overall ability... but neither were centre forwards... guys like Van Basten, Batistuta, Ronaldo (Bra), Romario, Gerd Muller, Klinsmann, Henry, Shearer... those were CFs... and IMO Marco was the best ever in that position.
I wish we could've seen him play for a longer time, Van Basten is definately Top 5. But because of goalscoring ability, I'll give that one to Gerd Müller, I've seen him play for most of his career.
Also the likes of Uwe Seeler are often overlooked. Uwe had pace, dribbling, playmaking and his scoring ability was incredible, whether it was over the head kicks, bycicle kicks or even scoring over the keeper with the back to the goal whilst sitting on the ground (that one's on youtube I think). Also besides only being 168 cm tall, one of the best header specialists of his time.
Amazing that a 6'2-lanky guy like him could dribble like that. Truly one of the greatest players. His last game was at 28. Those italians butchered his ankles
+Jared Ramirez He actually injured his right ankle in 1986 when he was still playing in the Dutch compitition. This injury eventualy ended his career in 1995.
