When heating nuts make sure the flame stays on the nut and not the bolt. The whole point of heat is to expand the nut loosening its self for the bolt. If you heat to long or heat the bolt with the nut then the bolt is heating up too and expanding with the nut and the whole point of doing it has been canceled out.
Did the same job today. Heating the bolt would have expanded it, making it harder to come off immediately. The trick is to heat it then spray it with penetrating oil, the oil gets drawn into any gaps as it cools. Do that a few times, then when cool blat it with the DeWalt and it'll pop right off.
yeah this happen to me too. i thought the Dewalt would have broken it off but it did not. i used a breaker bar and i cranked the car. i disconnect the fuel pump fuse though...
That impact gun shouldn’t have any issues with taking that crank pulley bolt out. The issue is that socket is a little too long, and there’s not enough weight on the socket. A Girthier socket will work immediately.
Try a socket that fits properly, the fit was so loose, impacts give minute kicks and loose sockets will lose a lot of their effort taking up lost motion. My 899 takes off hondy bolts all day long with tight fitting short impact
Just purchased the Dewalt and would not remove that bolt even with that socket, went to Home Depot and picked up the Milwaukee 1400 lbs of torque and no problem.
Ive removed Honda crank bolts with same gun and an IR Thundergun with a nonweighted mid depth sockets and no heat.... Not sure what's up here but good luck
just a marketing gimmick. they are just the same. in US it is marketted as 20v "max", as rechargables can put out upto 20v just after being fully charged. In EU this is not accepted, so they have to label the real voltage of the battaries which is 18v.
Just saying, those sockets in particular in comparison to the lisle have a very loose fit. The lisle fits very snug on the bolt. Which you need to transfer the energy.
I dunno then, I make mince meat out of Honda crankshaft bolts. And I have the same impact. I have an 8ah battery and a true lisle socket however. We’re talking off in less than 2-3 seconds. Your impact sounds noticeably slower than mine.
I used to use a socket, a breaker bar and use the starter motor to spin the engine . Works every time.
Right
Breaker bar straight to the ground, crank they engine just to turn the pulley a bit and that nut will break loose every time...

I'm not sure what you referring to? Where's the nut in this video?

Heating bolt may expand it but expansion isn't against you because it's still movement... Movement=release. Basic physics
Thank you for watching.
Doesn't work that way. Heating it will still break it off as you are expanding the thread and as it cools you take it off
Heating thaws the locking adhesive that being most of the point.
Just use short socket ffs... And hold the gyn with 2 hands to keep the pressure on it. I use the same DeWalt on all hondas.

The heat was what inevitably helped. You are supposed to let it cool down after heating it up. Thats when its shrinks

Watch my other videos with same setup

1000lbs of breakaway torque I believe. The impact broken?
Nope some Honda crank bolts are just too stubborn. Anyone who been wrenching long enough will tell you that
@@Usmanthemecano I believe it, usually used to working on trucks
Yep I definitely got the electric impact wrench with more torque at least 1500 ft -lbs to get the crank bolt off on my son 2005 civic
Just purchased the Dewalt and would not remove that bolt even with that socket, went to Home Depot and picked up the Milwaukee 1400 lbs of torque and no problem.
Not sure why. Mine does do the job 99% of the time. Make sure the battery is at least 5Ah

How much
Metele una palanca de 1/2 y atoralo en el chasis o carroceria y dale marcha uno o dos tres veses
some of the dcf899hp2 impact has label 18v xr.. but yours is 20v max xr.. what is the differences? price same for both

Thanks
Why not sprayed it with WD--40 first before unscrewing!
Doesn't do much

It works 98% of the time...
More heat
Use a half inch Ir air gun
Bought a different socket and it works way better
Gun with power not a toy
Dewalt DCF900 provides double the torque of DCF899
No it does not
42% more
Check your setting, it sounded like it was on setting two, not three.
It was on three.

@@juanc5149 I've done similarly with my 2001 Accord... This was a little sturdier but gave out eventually
@@Usmanthemecano didn't even look like the threads were dirty or seized either. pretty strange situation that it was stubborn to come loose.
I held it with one hand, increasing the vibrations hence robbing its effectiveness i believe
Your gum Chewing was very annoying 😒 thanks for the video though 👍
4:17 bullshit you recorded that after taking it to your friend. Just kidding.
