Reel black is amazing. Awesome job. What you're doing is worth fighting for.
This movie is 82 years old. My Mom was 7 years old when this movie was made
My Mom was born that year. We're both watching it now.
I love a classic film with an all black cast,& doesn't have any racial stereotypes,& not a single blackface in one!!!!!
Keep em coming!!!!!
Same thing i noticed & loved not seeing as well!
Love these movies love your channel so many treats keep up the good work
Thanks so much!
Strange, but many interesting details. The Ali Haban character referring to Allah, for instance; the Wilsons’ formal, but touching way of speaking to each other; the notion of setting aside oil land in favor of the future, rather than gutting it now & emptying the piggy bank to go shopping & a character named “Langley” who wants to work in fingerprint ID-ing for Mr. Hoover. Thank you, again ReelBlack, for a forgotten retrospective of 1939, during The Depression, too! When you think about what could’ve been accomplished had the progress been uninterrupted, if the filmmakers had ever had real support & real access, so much achievement & dignity could’ve been generated.
This was such a good movie, nice to see our people conduct themselves proper with dignity and class, even in the midst of criminal activities. Good guys win

"(Black People) have demonstrated
their ability of self-government by the
orderly process of law of which they
are capable when unhampered by
outside influences."
(White people)..."outside influences".
Awesome movie, thanks!
Wow! I never knew that black film existed in those days the 1939 only movie I know "Stormy Weather" with Lena Horne that was in the forties.
Dignified men and women.
Thanks for sharing this movie. I have subscribed.
Who was the guy with the deed? Was he the Prince’s partner? What actually killed the father?
Black is always the most important color in every movie we watch.
Enjoyed
"Midnight Shadow" Well, the name checks out.
The first movie with a all black cast.
Did the title really need to say “all black cast”..?
Wow. Islamophobia and Jim Crow at the same time. 🎬
