"God is born and the world is shaken,
The Lord of Heaven lies before us
Fire is frozen and splendour darkens,
A feeble nature God has taken.
Lowly born yet Lord to praises,
Mortal yet the King of Ages,
Now for all, the word made flesh has come
To earth to dwell among us.
Lowly born yet Lord to praises,
Mortal yet the King of Ages,
Now for all, the word made flesh has come
To earth to dwell among us.
He is born in a manger lowly
With shepherds, oxen, sheep and angels,
Kings from far distant lands have come,
They were following a star in wonder.
Lowly born yet Lord to praises,
Mortal yet the King of Ages,
Now for all, the word made flesh has come
To earth to dwell among us.
God is born and the world is shaken,
The Lord of Heaven lies before us
Fire is frozen and splendour darkens,
A feeble nature God has taken.
Lowly born yet Lord to praises,
Mortal yet the King of Ages,
Now for all, the word made flesh has come
To earth to dwell among us.
This is brilliant, thank you so much! I love this carol, and I've always wanted to hear it sung in English.
The part after each stanza and before the slower paced chorus isn't present in the original Polish carol, but I suppose it does make the English adaptation unique!
Also, this carol is a polonaise. Curiously enough, I've heard of people dancing a polonaise to it, which is a brilliant idea!
Wow that is quite an amazing translation! May I ask who was the author of it? It's so good I wish it was longer and for all of the verses. ❤
nice
Excuse me, is this in English? Very nice, I didn't know that there are versions in different languages. Amazing! Thank You, Sir! Maybe You can fix the title, is "Bog sie rodzi"? :) Greetings from Poland!
Fixed, thank you, Ukyo!
