Your video states that you have to pay the Taxes within 6 Months of the passing of the deceased. However if Probate has not been granted how can this be done? Thank you.
What happens when no one instructs a solicitor to begin probate on a deceased persons estate ?. Does the probate still go ahead anyway via a government department?.
If no one hires a solicitor to start probate after someone has died, probate won't happen automatically through a government department. Someone needs to apply to start the process. This can be a family member or a friend of the deceased. If no one comes forward, the government might eventually have to deal with the estate, but it's always best if someone who knew the person handles it.
Depends on whether it’s contentious probate. My solicitor gave me an hours free consultation but answered all my questions I’d written in 20 minutes. I told her I was seeking other consultants before deciding who to work with which I did. It was contentious probate so a year after mothers passing I invoked proceedings. She did the work on assurance her fee will come at division of assets. I had to save £3500over the course of two years to pay for barrister representative and court fees. After court hearing waited over another year for court appointed admin to receive probate in her name. This week the savings will be divided, I’ll be reimbursed with what I paid for court and barrister, and the contentious side will get a visit from property enforcers to serve notice to quit property to put up for sale. Hopefully your case won’t be contentious and it will be wrapped up nicely for much less money in6to 9monthsHope that helps.
my mother passed away easter sunday. im still waiting for death cert. its only me to inherit the flat ,no one else in will. do i still have to go through all this??
If someone who isn't named in the will decides to challenge it, the beneficiaries might need to get a solicitor to help protect their interests. This could mean they have to pay for legal advice and support. It's a good idea to talk to a professional to understand the best steps to take in this situation.

Yes! You will not be able to sell the house without one
Hello, very informative thank you. If someone contests the will that is not named in the will - do the beneficiaries have to pay and get a solicitor?
