When they finally won the Copa America the year prior to the world cup everyone on that team ran to hail Messi and he was celebrated more than the trophy itself. Yeah man, Messi is the absolute goat, but Luis Suarez was insane. He was a goal machine, but he also had dribble and vision. And he was strong like a bull, so defenders had a horrible time trying to contain him.
He was also incredibly smart, and realized that he was no longer the star of the team when he went to Barcelona, and instead befriended Messi and became partner in crime both scoring and assisting.
Suarez had a couple of years at Liverpool where he was the absolute best player in the Premier League.
