How many nonlinear odes do we solve with a series solution in science and engineering? I know rigid rotator and harmonic oscillator have series solutions like blasius boundary layer and rectangular duct laminar flow.

The two solvers are used the conservative Navier-Stokes equations?

    • @CFD_Mojtaba

      Dear Shahrzad,
If the discretization scheme is the finite volume method, then yes, both solvers use the conservative form of the Navier-Stokes equations.
      Respectfully,
      Mojtaba Maali.

@@CFD_Mojtaba thank you very much for the respond (and for the steady transonic regime_high Mach number (0.82) and fully turbulent flow RANS used the Boussinesq approximate or the average of Favre), and for the Rae model is used only the inviscid flow or not please answer me and sorry for wasting your time

      @@user-oy3dk5jd5e
The Roe's model is appropriate for subsonic and transonic flows for Mach numbers less than 0.8. While, the Liou's model is suitable for supersonic and hypersonic flows for Mach numbers larger than 0.8.
      I hope this helps!
      Respectfully,
      Mojtaba Maali.
