If you are defining your goal to be world record in every event, then your shouldn’t use Sum of Ranks average because it ignores multi. There isn’t a mbld average so you can be last in the world for it and still be first for SOR average
Hello everyone, I noticed that a lot of people have been mentioning Kinch ranks as a better aggregation method than Sum of Ranks. I have contemplated including Kinch ranks in the making of this video as they are very interesting and maybe even warrant an entire separate video on them. However, I went with Sum of Ranks because in Kinch ranks ‘you are not penalised as heavily for not having competed in an event’ and I feel like the best cuber should at least have competed in every event. Also, I am looking for cubers who are specifically closest to the Number 1 rank in each event, and the Sum of Ranks system is more direct as the data is made up solely of ranks. Overall, both systems have their trafeoffs, I just feel that the Sum of Ranks is more suited for finding the closest cuber to world dominance.
I fell like in the future Ryan Pilat might be able to get world dominance if he focuses more on certain event, he has many top rankings. Same could be said about tommy cherry he is a very dominant competitor, he can get world dominance if he gets better at certain event, anyway Great Video!!

kinch is a better metric for this as it calculates the disparity in the averages, rather than the ranks.
