As a collector, I can't stand the whole "flipping" game. I've popped onto Whatnot over the past several months just to see what's going on. It's pretty clear that those sales are slowing down and things are getting tight for these flippers. Eventually someone will be holding the bag. I have a feeling the card industry will look a lot different a year from now.
I agree, but I think the industry is growing and there will be sections of the hobby that will be realizing much higher prices a year from now. Especially if we see lower rates, and improved/rising economic conditions. Cards grew so fast so quickly over the pandemic, and I think we needed to see a little consolidation before we see the hobby develop further.
I don’t care about flipper so long as they have some sort of pc. I can’t stand the flippers who don’t care about the hobby what so ever. They’ll buy a $3000 Joe burrow but would have never watched them play a full game

The VIP is open before general public at the dallas show. That’s on thursday. VIP only. Then several hours ahead of GP on Friday. This is where the serious buyers are. The “gp” just doesn’t want to pay up for this stuff so that’s on them.

ask around .. stickers arent always the final price.. maybe the buy bought wayyyy below comp and will let it go for the right price
@@oneenooneone i do, and everytime when I ask for comp price i got response that "i need to profit from this, cant do that low", from multiple vendors already
Older Serial Numbered Baseball ⚾️ has been hot 🔥 for me recently...Still pick up football and basketball 🏀 a little, but have been getting more baseball interest recently especially 90's and 00's HOFers. Would love to see some 98 Crusades, High grade Gold Refractor/Xfractor pick ups. Haven't seen much at local shows in the PNW...might try flying out to some of the bigger shows to find some deals and inventory.

Step 2: Withdraw as much cash as you can hold.
Step 3: Convert sales on the sheep.

Guy is building the hobby right now, which is a good thing for everyone who collects or sells. Buying some of these cards on ebay is hard if there aren't sellers. I will pay an upcharge of 20-30% if it's a card I can acquire immediately and I know I will hold for years. Plus, I believe many rare sports cards will appreciate in value so why worry about a dealer making a small profit now?

its rare to actually find deals on whatnot, with a channel his size he will have no problem finding people to overpay for those cards. there are ALWAYS those FOMO buyers locked in the moment not wanting to lose on bidding.

Those patches were so overpriced, taking half of tagged price is still a bad deal 🤦♂️, luckily will be sold on whatnot or you’d have no chance of making profit. This is content not a manual how to buy.

I blame the dealers as much as i do for the people who follow SCI. If the dealers are offering $200 for two cards and that is fair comps, sell for $200, not 80% of those very fair comps because they are just going to take those cards and sell for 100 or 110% of comps and won't negotiate like the dealer did. People should pay 80% of what SCI paid on the cards.

You do realize they do this as a business and not a charity fund right. SCI/ Sports Card HQ has employees to pay. But I’m sure their plane tickets, lodging and food were all completely free. If you don’t like it, then don’t buy. Or get off your couch and go to the card show yourself and buy what you want at 80% comps. Or not and just complain about life like most people do!

guarantee you not enough.....especially with the prices they are paying for these cards, whatnot fees are just too high for sellers to make any decent profit. thats why its mostly breaking now on whatnot rather than singles. Geoff just does these singles shows to appeal to a specific section of his followers in the hopes they will buy more from him.

Geoff- I usually watch your videos, but don’t usually comment. Theres a lot of sad people on this world who would rather hate and be part of darkness, than try to make there situation better or be part of building something. We live in a society done by design where people these days won’t put in the sacrifice or risk their own money/ livelihood to build something they believe in. I’ll admit I had a negative opinion about you at first. But as a small business owner, I realized what you’re trying to do, and the vision you have. Others won’t see it, until they realize it on their own. The fact theirs a dude with a YT channel and all he does is talk trash, makes me laugh with how pathetic people are. It’s actually kinda sad imo. But ultimately man, just want to say keep grinding bro! One day these hater clowns on here will realize that these card prices on whatnot were actually cheap prices when we look back in 5 years. Even if you sell them for 100-110% comps. I guess people don’t realize what’s going to happen to the card prices and card market as Fanatics tries to grow it by 10%. Even if you’ve hinted about it. Maybe the haters need a stamp in their forehead. But then again, I bet they won’t be able to see that either. You’re doing good for the hobby. So keep grinding and do away with the haters who will always complain about life instead of getting off their couch and doing something about it to make their situation better. Great video!

To all the people whining about prices. Sure the prices on SCI cards may be a little higher than ebay/other sources but i personally prefer a name/brand i can visibly see and trust with my business. Sometimes people don't mind paying a premium for a safe streamlined and hassle free service. This distinction doesn't automatically make all of us SCI customers "blind goats" following their great leader. His structure with his business is strong, well thought out, and makes for easy business on the buyers end. happy to shop here and see them grow.

What I'm not getting is Jeff keeps saying "these cards will be loved over in whatnot". Like the buyers don't have access to wherever this dealer lists these cards at. Am I correct in that another realm can *only* work/sell/buy with whatnot?
