Went from sim max 2 to qi10max and it’s amazing. A lot straighter, much more confident
One of the biggest things I notice lately with the new drivers compared to the past. The previous gen models are no where near the savings they used to be almost forcing you to make the choice of taking the newest option. Where as a decade ago you’d lean towards last years models cause they were half the cost
You don’t want the Stealth or Stealth 2 anyway.
Even the used market is over priced post covid!

i recently cracked to top of my sim 2 driver and i submitted a warranty claim online with taylorMade and they sent me a qi10 driver for a replacement. this video made me excited for it to come in.
Lucky you! I cracked the top of my Qi10 Max, I was hoping TaylorMade would replace it with the new Qi35. But they replaced it with the same exact model
I hit the Max and the Standard today. To answer your question I liked the standard better for two reasons. First, I found the looks of the Max off-putting. It looked like a bowling ball on the end of an alignment stick. :) Second, the Max is much more draw biased which doesn't work for me since my bad shots are almost always left. I hit some dead straight shots with the standard; hit some dead pulls and pull hooks with the Max.
Tagging on here as I got fit into the standard. My swing speed couldn't justify the LS and my fitter made the same observation with the max being very much draw biased and my aggressive miss being left. Standard model still showed wildly better forgiveness over my Titleist 913 D3! 😊

Hit the standard yesterday and like you said mark feels solid and makes a good sound.
Tried the last few Taylormade drivers and I’ll try this one but none feel as good as my 2016 M2 driver

I've come from the stealth 2ls to the standard QI10 and already noticed it was a lot more forgiving and my swing and ball speed was up all in all I was massively impressed, I found the max to big and the LS to weighty for me

I think Cobra’s Darkspeed lineup is just as good as TM or Cally and priced $100 less than either. Also the all dark is very appealing.
I’ve been back and forth from moving to this from my stealth plus… tbh I’ll prob wait till I see what comes out next year lol

I got fitted for the new QI 10, I am 71 play of 14 ( sadly creeping up) swing speed between 90 and 95, the standard model was noticeably better for me than the max, so it's now in my bag, out on the course my dispersion is noticeably tighter than my previous Sim 2, happy days.

@GOLFADDICT65 yes after setting it up a bit more upright it helped prevent a lot of my hook shots, still very happy.

I bought the QI 10 standard. Wasn’t planning on buying a new driver but I smashed my Mavrik off a post at the driving range. My Taylormade boycott is over, hope it doesn’t let me down - performed well and felt great in the fitting

@ hey! Yeah still love it, won’t be changing this one unless I break it but I’ve stopped going to driving ranges now so the risk of that has been greatly reduced. What driver are you gaming?

I had a fitting today, and I had better results with the standard model vs the max. I have around a 95mph swing speed and 15 handicap (but driver is my most consistent club). The standard model gave me a little less spin, about 9 yds more carry and total distance (and 4mph more ball speed) and I didn’t see much difference in lateral dispersion between the two.
I also tried the G430 Max 10k and the AI Smoke. I struggled to get good height with the Ping, but I think that was more my brain than anything else. Just looking down at it, it was so massive and felt heavier (again, probably just my brain). Perhaps this seemed more noticeable on the Ping because I currently game a G430 Max. The AI Smoke performed well for me, but was just a bit shorter on average. Granted, I could go back next week and the numbers would probably flip between the two, but looking down at them, I favor the QI10.

@@GOLFADDICT65 there are days when I’m hitting it so good, I think I couldn’t have made a better choice. Then there’s days where it seems the ball just keeps rising with the spin and I could’ve gotten another 20 yards with a lower spin model. Overall, it’s not a magic wand. I played a lot more this year than last year and have gotten down to a 12. My driving average is almost 15 yds further this year. Is it the driver change? More practice/play? Both? Don’t know.
As for you, I’d say it depends on your strike consistency. If you’re mostly around the middle, I’d say give the standard a good, hard look. I’m too frequently off the toe. Maybe it’s placebo effect, but I think I made the right call for me overall.
@@GOLFADDICT65 Didn’t realize I never mentioned which one I settled on. I went back a few days later and hit them again. I ended up opting for the max version. During round two, I was really pleased with how well my bad hits were performing with the max. The Smoke and Standard I found pretty evenly matched, but after another hour of hitting those three, I just felt more comfortably consistent with the Qi10 max.

Hi Mark just watched the video 👍🏻 noticed you were catching a lot of the Max drives on the quad out of the toe….could be because the neck is shorter on the Max model making the overall driver length shorter. Just a thought 👍🏻🏌️♂️⛳️
I tried the Max and would go for the standard/core model, because of the high backspin that I got. However, if I really wanted to get that down on the Max, shift more weight up front, but that would affect the forgiveness, so I would really need to like the shape of the Max, too.
Tried the max and it does spin up around 3,000 but with a tweak of the loft got it down a few sub 2,000 but god is it easy to hit.
@@davidfletcher6836 Agreed on easy to hit, just had issues with spin. I got it down to 2500, but that was on a great strike. I would probably need to change weights to fix that.

Another interesting thing. Rory is playing the "standard version" but he is playing a tour only "version 2" of the standard... so we are to believe he's playing something we can buy in store which is very much not the case. It's basically an "LS" but in the form of the standard. Goes in between both for spin.
He has his built by sexy specialists that would blow our minds how they build driver heads ...see trottie golf on YT it's so precisely built our off the shelf ones aren't 😂😂
If they could only use what's in stores I doubt we'd be talking about pulling back the golf ball. Meh, whatevs...

I got fit into a 'non' max qi10 based on the max being slightly more limiting in performance long term. basically QI10 gave me more room to grow. I also noticed a big difference in ball speed from the Qi10 to the MAX, Max being slower on avg? weird huh. I also prefer the look at address of the slightly smaller head.
Shaft is shorter as it sits further in the head.

Idk, I hit this today and it was 5-7 mph faster ball speed than my 410 lst. Best numbers I’ve ever seen from a driver. My ping is where every recent driver I’ve had before sits as far as ball speed. This ls model is much faster for me.
I will look to get an older model 11k in 5-6 years! 😮

I agree on the QI10 max and standard being pointless because you would just go max if you can produce the same numbers but with the Ping the 10k its a fixed weight compared to the max has a adjustable weight so will fit into different players

Has the HD model been replaced by the Qi10 Max or hhave they abandoned the draw bias head altogether? Max head appears to be similar to the HD with the front weight set right in the heel of the club. Clever marketing maybe to get more people buying it as the HD models were generally quite unpopular??

Now more than ever with these "forgiving" drivers, you need to play around with the fitting. The heads are bigger and more weight pushed farther back than ever before (thus in theory making them more forgiving). Your "go to" driver shaft probably is not going to be optimal and your "normal" loft preference is probably going to change as well. If you go for a fitting, make sure you try everything...... for example.... if you typically use a 9 degree head, try the 9 degree and also the 10.5 dialed down to 9. They will be different.
Curious what you think of the real significance of the moi increase here? I suppose that over thousands of strikes it might make a little difference but I doubt if you really could tell any difference in play. Not nearly enough to make me buy a new driver. My "old" G425 is around 10k I believe and all the marketing is not quite enough to pull that amount of money out of my pocket.
Tested this new Q driver but saw no difference with my SIM , money saved

Most would choose standard over Max because the Max is a spin machine!
From other video reviews I have seen, the Max version doesn’t go as long as the other 2 models. It loses about 20 yards. If that matters to anyone. Personally, I wouldn’t want to hit a golf ball with a frying pan.
The qi10 looks very similar in address to my m4. Looks sharp and sounds good but no way I’m spending £500 for a near identical product
Youd have to hit thousnads of shots ..heel ..toe..bottom..top to quantify this 10k qi bull bags ..im not having it ...all drivera are the same now .....mark the ping g400 max is 10k thats a sexy driver and so good
Very similar to the Sim 2 line, not sure an upgrade from my Sim 2 Max is worth it at this point.

@GOLFADDICT65 loved my Sim2max, but like you said, the deals are good right now so I went and bought a Cobra Darkspeed max, it's incredible and I think a hidden gem!!! The draw bias with it is unbelievable along with a gain of 17 yards. Checkout Darkspeed for sure.

It’s the max big head is what makes me not want it tbh the standard or LS are the two I’d look at if I was going to buy one
Loved the feel and sound of the original stealth also the distance but misthits are so unforgiving. Ended up grabbing the g430 max and way more forgiving but I find it “boring” and sounds not great. Is this forgiving enough where it’s worth a look if I liked the feel of the stealth but looking for forgiveness of the ping?
Max doesn’t go as far. Club head at the neck is shorter which helps add to its accuracy

I work on a grounds crew at a golf course.....get off those tees, you don't walk on grass with frost on it. That grass will die now. Some people have no idea what crews have to go through. You don't fix your ball marks, you leave trash laying around. You don't rake bunkers. Even small town courses deserve to be treated like you got a little sense. To those who DO try to go about it the right way when they play, you are MUCH appreciated.
No issues on tees or fairways in frost... Greens definitely no though... No course shuts for frost just temp greens

Why? Mostly because the max versions spin up too much reducing distances.
I suppose a monkey for a premium driver is par for the course. I did wonder when TM would bring out yet another new driver. I'm still using the M4 which I bought new for £150 about 18 months after it was first launched, hence the price discount. Never really liked the look of the Stealth with that garish red face etc. Thinking about replacing my driver but not going to pay £500 for something which might give me 5 yards extra. FFS £100 a yard!!

Anybody who believes that the tech can move the needle enough to make a measurable difference is deluded. Sure, if a machine hits 10000 shots, maybe. But for a golfer, no chance. Buy a new driver because it's fun, exciting and because it makes you want to practice more by all means.

The truth is no new model will ever be longer than the previous models as every new driver nowadays is maxed out for COR.
Realistically, 99% of us aren't good enough for any of this to matter, so what fits your eye is the best choice if you want a new driver.

I'm not buying anymore Carbon drivers...They don't work. The carbon cracks/breaks/delaminates etc. I've got old a 20yr old Titleist (Titanium) driver in my garage, that I've hit a million times...Still works exactly the same as the day I bought it.

3 "different" drivers seems superfluous.
But if I know that of the 3 drivers, Rory is gonna be hitting the LS...triple diamond... Blah blah, my stupid ass will probably like the idea that " I'm hitting the same driver as Rory". And pay out the eyeballs for it over the " entry model."

I got higher launch, more spin, which resulted in shorter droves with the max. Also, you can’t make the loft as low on max as on the normal one.
Edit: And in no way did I see any improvement in shot shape or the spread of my shots
The MAX is slightly closed face, where as the standard head is not. Therefore I would certainly take the standard head over the MAX
Dont waste your money on a new driver unless youre loaded. They are just the same club as last year with a new coat of paint. Obviously there is a Marketing blurb of bull that many fall for but its the annual event.

You say TM always make great drivers, then explain the Stealth, rubbish to the core. They haven’t really made a decent driver since SIM version 1. Oh. Skimp on quality and R&D to make more money, issue new product for the sake of it, makes more money. No Mark, TM haven’t always made great drivers, they have always tried to rip us off!!!!
