I know this is late but I'm not confident in my english before: Mad Holy character here is based on a true editor, legendary editor Horie Nobuhiko. The editor for Fist of the North Star who shaped Jump and the shonen genre. That's why you see his clothing here is ripped like in the manga/anime.
What I usually do is I would make a single cover page, an intro page maybe 2 if I used no coloring and an end page pin up, then say I'm about halfway done, only 4 or 5 pages left. Then I wouldn't finish my project at all and by the time the next month rolled around we've all forgotten what it was I was working on. So this resonates.
The cover page and other decoration should be the last thing you do, also you should consider creating a 10-15 page story just to get to feel the sense of accomplishment. After creating a few stories told in less than 20 pages, im drawing a ~200 page story with much less pain and i think ill finish it in about a month, im at page 130 and on a good day i can draw 10 pages, but a year ago, just making 16 pages took me so long and i was sweating too much over it. A long project for a novice like that is impossible and will only make you depressed Problem is, all info on how to make comics is for pro scene only, like, theyll tell you to write full script and info on chars and basically get a whole production bible ready but none of it matters if its a solo indie project, so basically you have to figure out your own rhytm, good luck
