EnterElesium- as someone who has raised goats for the past twenty years, I can confirm that they have anti-gravity properties. I once saw our herd matriarch, (a majestic old troublemaker of six years, weighing probably seventy pounds) clear an eight-foot-high fence- from a standing start.
Goat clan? Interesting choice. Out of the four primary Norse livestock, goats have the lowest "symbolic value" (cows > pigs > sheep > goats) but are arguably the most versatile, since they give meat, wool, _and_ milk. This suggests a clan without much prestige, but one that's capable of doing anything it needs to. Boring, but practical. Hopefully, EE's limited skill lets him live up to this ideal. The practical half, at least.
I started drinking goat milk when my intolerance for cow's milk was too much for me. at first i though it had an odd taste because i wasn't used to it but now i find it's delicious sweet and creamy while cow's milk is disgusting and has a watery bitter/sour taste to it (and that's the whole cow's milk. skim is way worse). It's easier to digest due to having naturally smaller fat molecules. It is naturally homogenized whereas cow's milk has to undergo a man-made processing technique to keep it from separating while it's sitting in your refrigerator. Goat's milk has less lactose (milk sugar) which also make it easier to digest. It’s less allergenic due to the protein contents. One of the most common allergies in children under the of age of 3 in the United States is a dairy-allergy and it has a lot to do with a particular protein in the milk called Alpha s1 Casein. The levels of Alpha s1 Casein are about 89% less in goats milk. - which is one of the main reasons why people who have dairy sensitivities may get away with consuming goats milk as an alternative. Goat’s milk matches up to the human body better than cow’s milk. Goat’s milk is slightly alkaline, unlike cow’s milk which is slightly acidic. Nutritionally speaking, goats milk is a good source of protein, contains less sugar (lactose), 13% more calcium, 25% more vitamin B6, 47% more vitamin A, and 134% more potassium than regular cow’s milk. Also, most goat's milk and other goat dairy products tend to be less tainted with added starches , sugars, and preservatives. 65% of the milk consumption worldwide is from goat’s milk, and this popularity hasn’t come about due to high profile marketing campaigns or big-budget advertisements. Goat meat is one of the healthier meats out there. Goat meat is actually lower in calories, total fat, saturated fat, and cholesterol than not just lamb, pork and beef meats, but also turkey and chicken meat. Additionally, goat meat has higher levels of iron than the other meats. Goat meat also has higher levels of potassium and lower levels of sodium than the other four meats. Thus it is healthier option for people with hypertension, heart and kidney disease. Clinical studies conducted by Harvard University, confirmed that while the saturated fat contributes to cardiovascular risks, the unsaturated fats could help enhance the good cholesterol, stabilize the heartbeat and offer many other health benefits. Thus, goat meat is nutritionally superior to all the other meats including turkey and chicken meat. So other than fish, goat meat is the best meat to consume. because goats are not factory farmed in the same manner as many cows, pigs, and chickens in America, they are likely to have been raised without added growth hormones and antibiotics. In fact, just about all goat meat that reaches American tables comes from small domestic and international farms. Goat meat leaves a small environmental footprint. Unlike the grazing cow, which destroys root systems and eats up vitamin rich grass from the soil, goats are browsers. They eat brush and weeds, restoring pastures by eliminating competition for water and nutrients. In short: Goat meat is lean and clean Cashmere is super soft and a pretty good material (although the price is daunting) it's about 7 times warmer than sheep wool, lightweight, and breathable. Cashmere is useful in any climate around the world. Mohair is coarser than cashmere but still an exceptionally soft luxury fabric fiber. Just like cashmere, mohair has great insulation, is moisture wicking, and has great natural flexibility. mohair is also more durable than cashmere. As an added plus: mohair is hypoallergenic so even people with wool allergies can wear it.
This is true probably because goats give the least meat and they breed slowly (last I checked, they give 2 kids vs 6-8 piglets for sows in their respective breeding cycles). Other livestock gives leather too, but a winter coat from goat wool is more valuable and effective presumably. Yay 2018! :)
An interesting idea that I would love to see implemented into this game (if at all possible) would be to change the wolves AI pattern. 1.) Only attacking Villagers/Settlements if the number of wolves is greater than the number of population in the area, if someone has invaded the area of the wolves den, or if they are starving. 2.) You can "run away" from wolves encounters by sacrificing meat to them (decreasing your food value), but doing so would make the wolves more likely to return seeking more food if they get hungry and attack if they aren't given food. If you give a wolf food enough time, they become "Loyal" and become something like a villager that can be used for protection.
Another Goat Simulator? Civ Edition this time, apparently. ^Take the above with a grain of salt. Things I write are not always meant to be taken at face value. Thank you for your time.
"We ARE losing wood".... That's ALWAYS a concern! I saw an advert at 3am the other morning that might help, one sec and I'll grab the link for ya... 😂🤣😂
All the other animals are also mythical animals btw... In Valhalla they make mead of the milk of Heidrun (a giant goat, and the "totem" of the goat faction) but yeah, love that they put in a raven clan with reference to them
Have northgard sitting in the shelf so to speak..decided to look up a let's play.. so when I heard: "goats have in-built gravity generators" i can only conclude that this is the right channel for some Northgard!
Yeah, I recall some crazy environmentalists being concerned about polar bears being stranded on ice when it broke from a glacier. Polar bears swim like seals.
Yep, build the Sheepfold right next to the wolves. Yyyep. Haha. Just kidding. Thank you for this video. Didn't know about this game until now. =) Update: I noticed the wolf corpses simply disappearing; they should make it so that the carcasses remain, and villagers automatically prioritize dealing with them to get fur and other resources, maybe not meat from wolves unless there's starvation or something, but at least for the fur and anything else useful, fat or whatever. And carcasses stay usable longer during winter, that sort of thing. Update: And the pace or speed is fine, by the way. In fact, I'm watching at 1.5x normal speed of the video, and other people can watch slower using a Chrome extension like Video Speed Controller, or simply the RUclips speed feature itself in the gear icon.
love it. keep going strong. don't forget about the towers, doesn't use a slot and helps protect the area. also it looks like a pause button on the top left of the mini map there.
I've been looking at this game for ages, and it's like, a tenner on Steam right now...but I already have so, so many games that I can play. I'm reaching critical mass...but this looks so damn good. Like, take me back to my childhood days of Age of Empires, Settlers and Warcraft 3.
I know this is a 2 week old video, but no, its not firewood because of warm coats, its firewood because you dry and burn the pellets that come out the back end of your majestic goat. Bears also do like swimming, and hang around water a lot, so its not that immersion breaking one would be in the pond.
This actually looks like a really nice game. I put it on my wishlist during the sale, but didn't really know much about it. After watching this, I'll definitly buy it! Also looks really good for an early access game (so far it pretty much looks like a full game feature wise).
for ur info Vikings mean's pirate and was a job not a race of people, the proto-germanic people in Scandinavia where put into 3 groups from people from Norway got called Norse, people from Sweden were Swedes, and Danish people were called Danes
If you click on a healer and read you can see a blue text: Wolol..oh sorry, wrong line. And wololooo is from Age of Empires 2 and it is a meme and I laughed so hard when I saw that line when I played Northgard. 🤣👍
i have loved the culture games . from 2 to 4 i never was good at them . but they where great games ... my people always starved to dead ... i hope i am better at this one ...
Gorgeous game! I can't stop playing it myself. But I've been wondering, does "Miners" lore (or what it's called) buff output of stone, or just iron ore? Because it says "ore" in the tooltip. Can stone be considered ore since it's also mined by miners?
It helps with both. There is also a lore called "carpentry mastery" in the middle of the bottom row that is very useful in saving stone. I makes upgrades 30% cheaper
I was half expecting a game where clans of goats were competing against one another in epic battles. Sort of like a 4X Goat Simulator. I'm kind of disappointed that it's not.
Clan 1: "We're going to win. We've conquered 99% of the world. Your 1% is all that's left. Prepare to be slaughtered!" Clan 2: "Yeah, but we're really famous." Clan 1: "... So?" Clan 2: "So we won with the fame condition. gg no re"

"This is a fishbear!"
Gets Impossible Creatures flashbacks...
It's a seabear.
man bear pig
Perdikofas I have fond memories of my terrifying lobsterines. Formidable weapons indeed.

well to be fair in Valhalla there is a goat witch produces mead insted of milk.
From her boobs? Sweeeeet.

Is there nukes in this game
-*Ghandi*
Sea Moss hahah

dude it's valefisk who you are gonna talk to if you are ghandi but no there is not
Attack the bear and colonise. Area has sheep = extra food production during winter.
beware the seabear. always make safety circles.

Huginn and Muninn, otherwise known as Thought and Memory. A reference to Odin's two ravens.

Yeah and a gigantic animal slain to feed the tens of thousands einharjar and resurrected in the morning
Jesus, I almost flew out of my seat when you screamed HELLO into the mic
Wow Zero dislikes, I would rather have a small fan base that loved me then a large one that hated me! Love you EE
Nooooo, you jinxed it! Now there are 4 dislikes...
Like to compensate!
Sharky Toaster Covfefe
5 dislike now
I guess they just dislike this kind of game. And that means to them that the video is bad. They seem to rate the game rather than the video...
Bought the game based on this video alone, this looks like an awesome game, and the winter aspect is genius!

whenever they kill something the warriors say "seger" which means victory in swedish, sail safe my vikings
Glad I found one of your videos, loved it and subbed. Looks like a fantastic game
Thanks!

lol i love the first tech name. sharp axes, because they were banging the tree with a dull rock before :D
@2:40 It's funny, because even if you watch the goats get to the places they do, you don't understand how they got there.
This games looks great. Please keep it up!
I love this so much, can't wait for more, EE!

Brings back memories of Age of Empires... What a game.
I really enjoy watching you play this game, would love to see more of this title. until your next video, stay shiny
Seems like a combination of banished and settlers. Good stuff.
Looks like an amazing game! I would like to see more from this game.
for ur info Vikings mean's pirate and was a job not a race of people, the proto-germanic people in Scandinavia where put into 3 groups from people from Norway got called Norse, people from Sweden were Swedes, and Danish people were called Danes
This game is exactly age of empires II. i mean its cuter and ofc updated but the entire gathering and building and villager setup is that game
Interesting game! I expect I'll watch the next episode. :)
A Solid RTS Game! Reminds me a lot of Age of Empires II and Warcraft 3. I love Northgard. 😍❤️
This actually reminds me of Battle Realms, very similar mechanics with regards to training units.
Perhaps you would enjoy great open source game 0 A.D. They have a mod that include vikings I think.
Love this series, please keep it going! Would love a huge map game!
The clan of Antigravity Goats
I have this on switch. I love it. And that's the watered down version
If you click on a healer and read you can see a blue text: Wolol..oh sorry, wrong line. And wololooo is from Age of Empires 2 and it is a meme and I laughed so hard when I saw that line when I played Northgard. 🤣👍
Picked this up after watching your video. Thanks!
The Jötnar are a PAIN to get on your side unless you have an absolute arse load of food on hand. That and preferably 2-3 trading posts.
Its about Vikings and that's all I need.
That "hello!" at the start. startled me xD HAHA.
*This game really looks nice and all, I hope to get it one day.*
i have loved the culture games . from 2 to 4
i never was good at them . but they where great games ...

EnterElysium: "I know I'm going fast..."
Me: Where is lightning mode *filthy casual gamers*
this game is like age of empires mixed with civilization and i love it
Silly Elysium. It's obviously the seabear. Gotta get your anti-seabear circle up.
It's pronounced Hoogin and Moonin. Basically exactly as it's spelled.
Gorgeous game! I can't stop playing it myself.
But I've been wondering, does "Miners" lore (or what it's called) buff output of stone, or just iron ore? Because it says "ore" in the tooltip. Can stone be considered ore since it's also mined by miners?

Clan 2: "So we won with the fame condition. gg no re"
Hu-Ginn and Mu-ninn the G and N are not silent, and the ravens of Odin.
good game. vary interesting. keep the series going.
At first I thought this was some kind of epic looking goat survival simulator.
As a Dane I need this. Bring honor to my ancestors!!
Lots of similarities to the Age of Empires series, but with interesting differences too. It seems promising.
this remindes me of the old setler games
For an early access game, this is rather pretty. Looks rather fun too.
The Goat is Strong in this one.
it's like Warcraft II without the engineers and other stuff, which is pretty cool.
the two Ravens was pronounced almost correct, the only thing is that the g in huginn is pronounced as a hard g, same with the middle n in muninn
@6:25 "There is no pause button..."
Immediately pauses the game.
Thank you for the gameplay!
Fun new series, keep it up!
hope you do continue this one EE
I think you can pause by clicking the button above the map.
Ya know what would be cool? if you could use the wolfs for training them
What a cool game. I love it.
you need to upgrade your warriors and get the leader for them. Other wise very good start!
I like that this game honors my kin.
Nobody expects THE SPANISH INQUISITION!
Well, it's time to Bleat our way to victory!
Vikings and Jarls you say? Let me guess somebody stole your sweetroll or did you use to be an adventurer before an arrow to the knee?
HAHAH oh Skyrim
Almost all of these games Don't see the final light. They always remain early access.
I love this game
this looks amazing
Let's try!
Just bought it yesterday. Its on sale on stram aswell. Get it while its hot
Mountain goats can do some crazy things.

Hey EE it's been awhile since you played EU4. any plan on that?
For the record, you can totally pause with 'P'. Just sayin'.
