    --------------------
Alice and Kristin are a married couple in their 40's. After our kids moved out of the house we decided to stop paying rent and hit the road for #vanlife. We bought a 1999 Ford E-450 El Dorado Shuttle bus off craigslist for $7,000 and did a studs up remodel ourselves.
    --------------------
In this episode we hit the road! We move out of the house we've rented for the last 10 years, and into the bus (in our driveway...) We make it out to our first campsite just outside of town and we discover a pinhole leak in our coolant reservoir tank! Fortunately a replacement was found in town, but no mechanic could fix it that day. We took the bus up to our son's place and replace the tank in the parking lot. From discovery to fixed took less than two hours, and we made it back to the campsite for campfire hot dogs with the kids before leaving the next morning for the Portland area.

Wow, Congratulations. This has being a wonderful project. With great master skills, designing and engineering an old bus has being converted in to a sweet home RV fully equipped. Just amazing, if I did not watch from the beginning I would not believe. Now that the main project is complete let the travel adventure begins, will be here watching. Safe and healthy travel.

when u rinse your washed dishes it is important to use warm water to remove all the soap. if u dont do this your very likely to get the scoots. if you cant access or make warm water choose a very mild soap and use as little as possible. i found a solar water bag to work the best most of the time. thanks for sharing your adventure.

Don't be one of those 'van lifers ' that focuses 100% on "interior design" and "tech" while completely ignoring the basic mechanical underpinnings that you will rely on.

Don’t sell your house, rent it out, do van life part time.. you need a home base, you will not be able to van life for the rest of your life….
