There was a shooting a few years ago in the food court of my local mall. That day I had planned to go to the mall, but I changed my mind and didn’t last minute. I could’ve easily been a victim or witness. I get extremely anxious every time I enter that food court, and turn into a nervous wreck every time I have to eat there. People who like shooters and serial killers like this piss me off. I’m not even a victim, but that shooting left me so traumatized that over four years later I can’t enjoy a meal at the mall with friends or family
I have a story kind of similar to this. When I was 5 my family all wanted to go to get frozen yogurt at the mall, i was strongly against this for some reason, but i finally said yes. but when we were in the parking lot this guy driving a big van skidded on the ice and slammed into the side of our car, it was completely wrecked, MY LITTLE SISTER WAS ON THE SIDE HE SLAMMED INTO!! shes so lucky she didnt die, she only got a scrape somehow! my older sister was the most hurt because she was trying to clean the car by picking up shards of glass but it got her arms and legs cut, my toe was bleeding, i was crying so hard but it didn't even hurt, we got to drive home in a cop car though, that was pretty cool.

The idea that humans are attracted to death- to have an instinct for killing- goes all the way back to Sigmund Freud, who called it the “Death Drive”. You know the scariest thing about these people, though? They’re all family people. They have jobs, hobbies, families. They aren’t some monster wearing a human skin. They’re people who, one day, decided to try something new. Because they have a morbid curiosity. It’s just... they needed to get a bit closer.

I'm actually fascinated with the columbine case as it occurred when I was a senior in hs...it happened to people my own age at the time. I'm curious about the survivors and the victims predominantly. I can't imagine being attracted to the killers though. Disgusting. My husband is fascinated by the "ice man" Richard Kuklinski because my husband grew up in that same neighborhood around the time Kuklinski was active. My husband is also of polish heritage. The thing he finds most intriguing is how a man could have a family and children yet be a stone cold killer. It freaks him out a little.
Richard Ramirez was a serial killer who murdered multiple people in my area, we learned about him in high school & I did a report about him. My close friend got so obsessed with him for some reason that she started writing letters with him while he was in jail (he died now) & was actually attracted to him. I’m not sure why it got to that extent.
I don’t remember the source, so take my words with salt, but I read somewhere that morbid curiosity was created by evolution to actually study what is deeply horrible in humanity to know how to solve it. Fascination for what’s wrong with the world is crucial to doing something or at least potentially avoiding a situation like this, but to support violence like this. . . is just low.

His conditions are similar to mine, granted my autism is pretty much non existent. This has no correlation, but I live in Florida as well and the day after Cruz did what he did, it even effected my school. A bunch of people didn't show up, and during lunch, the dean picked up a microphone and had a discussion about what happened. During that lunch period, my group of close friends that act satirical and usually a joking attitude was much different, we went into deep serious discussion about gun laws, politics, spiritual fitness, death, mental illness, etc. It shook so many schools, even ones that were across the state from Parkland. I'm sorry if anyone disagrees, but Cruz is scum. A terrible person, and it's a shame that he hasn't gotten the death penalty yet. Im one of the people that really likes LEARNING about serial killers. I think it's really interesting and cool learning about what goes on in peoples head who do something that most other people could not do. But romantazing them? Why? It feels so wrong even just hearing these people saying things like "look at my precious little sunshine boi uwu" about serial killers, wtf.
I have a morbid curiosity when it comes to killers. It's interesting to try and understand how someone could bring themselves to do that. I mean, I almost cry when I step on a dog's paw. Killing a human would be impossible. Also, I'm fine with people having a small crush on a *fictional* killer, such as Creepypasta or someone from a horror movie. But that's only because they are fictional, aren't real. If somebody starts fangirling over a real killer, they need help.

"Dexter" was a really fascinating show for me because while he was a psycho he had logical intent even as a child (killed the neighbor's dog because it wouldn't stop barking and it kept his sick adopted mother up all night). I know he was fictional but it always made me wonder how I would respond if I found out my husband was going around slaughtering rapists and pedos.... I think it would make me uncomfortable but someone like Dexter would be a safe relationship. My husband is wonderful so I would be shocked if I found out his hobby was murder.... But I can't say I would turn him in for taking out "bad guys".

I come from a long line of cops and detectives and so i grew up with watching ID (my favorite show is snapped). when i first got tumblr in my teens, i was shocked to see people in love with these people. My crush calls himself a “possible super villain” in his twitter bio. He’s a sweetheart and him and I have been friends for years. He likes taking any evil paths in video games if the villain role is a conniving one, he enjoys voicing the villains in games where it’s just dialogue and no voice acting, and he says he’d rather be a super villain than a super hero. Once again, he’s still very sweet. I trust that he’d never hurt anyone other than NPCs in video games.
I love true crime. I find the "why" behind some of these crimes super fascinating. But to _crush_ on the killers? Never. I accept the fact that I have an issue and I am indeed seeking help for this issue. I have struggled with this for years. I have landed in one specific terribly abusive relationship which is honestly what pushed me to get help for my problem. I think sunshine was what Nancy Klebold (Dylan's mom) use to call him when he was little boy. I watched the full interview on Nancy and it was interesting to watch. I am not in anyway trying to emphasize Dylan, but as a mom myself, Nancy's story is an eye opener because you can try to raise your children in a good loving home. In the end you never really know the outcome.
I have a hate-love relationship with the true crime community. I am very interested in the phsychology behind the murderers, their motives, how their childhood affected them and such. But the first time I got invested in a certain murderer (I made studies about different serial killers when I first entered the tcc, one of my first studies were about Jeffrey Dahmer) I was met with disgusting, uncalled photos of corpses and extreme gore. It really scarred me as a kid and I’d like if more people added warnings when they were going to post stuff like that, even if people are used to seeing it it is very mentally scarring when it’s the first time seeing stuff like that. It kinda feels like the tcc doesn’t care about stuff like that.

Richard Ramirez was a serial killer who murdered multiple people in my area, we learned about him in high school & I did a report about him. My close friend got so obsessed with him for some reason that she started writing letters with him while he was in jail (he died now) & was actually attracted to him. I’m not sure why it got to that extent.
I was a sophmore when Columbine happened and I agree it is very fascinating.The killers don't deserve it but the victims and survivors of it do!!!
I don’t remember the source, so take my words with salt, but I read somewhere that morbid curiosity was created by evolution to actually study what is deeply horrible in humanity to know how to solve it. Fascination for what’s wrong with the world is crucial to doing something or at least potentially avoiding a situation like this, but to support violence like this. . . is just low.

I used to be kind of similar, I was so in love with creepy pastas and the fact that the main characters would fall in love with me. How do you know the person reading this is a great person? Was Dylan Klebold a "great person"? How do you know the person looks amazing? You don't know the person on a personal level , therefore you cannot care about them. Then lastly , the "If anyone needs prayers..." part is just insulting to people who aren't of your specific religion. @@toku4242 Cruz's situation was somewhat close to how my life has gone. Not exactly the same, but close to some of my life experiences. His conditions are similar to mine, granted my autism is pretty much non existent. This has no correlation, but I live in Florida as well and the day after Cruz did what he did, it even effected my school. A bunch of people didn't show up, and during lunch, the dean picked up a microphone and had a discussion about what happened. During that lunch period, my group of close friends that act satirical and usually a joking attitude was much different, we went into deep serious discussion about gun laws, politics, spiritual fitness, death, mental illness, etc. It shook so many schools, even ones that were across the state from Parkland. I'm sorry if anyone disagrees, but Cruz is scum. A terrible person, and it's a shame that he hasn't gotten the death penalty yet. I know it can't work like that but he should be dead for what he has done. Just wanted to say this, please do not start any arguments, yes I know this video is old.

I think it's really interesting and cool learning about what goes on in peoples head who do something that most other people could not do. But romantazing them? Why? I find Ted Bundy interesting as an example of "the halo effect".
"Dexter" was a really fascinating show for me because while he was a psycho he had logical intent even as a child (killed the neighbor's dog because it wouldn't stop barking and it kept his sick adopted mother up all night). I know he was fictional but it always made me wonder how I would respond if I found out my husband was going around slaughtering rapists and pedos.... I think it would make me uncomfortable but someone like Dexter would be a safe relationship. My husband is wonderful so I would be shocked if I found out his hobby was murder.... But I can't say I would turn him in for taking out "bad guys".
I would support someone like that 100%. Using darkness for a wonderful purpose.

Excellent video, the true crime community has been (in my opinion) the most terrifying fandom of the internet, as someone who likes to do a lot of research on various subjects such as music, film, video games etc serial killers was the most scaring. due to Bile fascination I kept researching due to my then interest in crime, but not to a point of being attracted to them, overall great job on this video

I think I can speak for what I would do: I would tell how sorry I am that it happened, I would visit graves and I would be respectful. I would give hand to every family member or friend, and the killer... Niko, Dylan, Elliot or any other... I would simple kick them and hit them until they would be bleeding on ground.
Because it's not right what they did, it's awful, but it's also who made them do it. Whole society, people who didn't paid attention... Many things. And it's not only victims' lives, it's also awful damage done to close ones and after all killer's life too

I come from a long line of cops and detectives and so i grew up with watching ID (my favorite show is snapped). when i first got tumblr in my teens, i was shocked to see people in love with these people. My crush calls himself a “possible super villain” in his twitter bio. He’s a sweetheart and him and I have been friends for years. He likes taking any evil paths in video games if the villain role is a conniving one, he enjoys voicing the villains in games where it’s just dialogue and no voice acting, and he says he’d rather be a super villain than a super hero. Once again, he’s still very sweet. I trust that he’d never hurt anyone other than NPCs in video games.
I love true crime. I find the "why" behind some of these crimes super fascinating. But to _crush_ on the killers? Never. It doesn't matter how handsome or beautiful a killer is, they're _killers._ They could be a perfect 10 in all my criteria, but the fact they were able to snuff out another person's life makes them impossible to really care for. I might feel sympathy for what they went through, but love or compassion? Not a chance!

I am a part of this community but I’m also one of the few that actually do accept the fact that I have a mental condition. Yes I am diagnosed with “aggressive” hybristophillia. I accept the fact that I have an issue and I am indeed seeking help for this issue. I have struggled with this for years. I have landed in one specific terribly abusive relationship which is honestly what pushed me to get help for my problem. I went into this video expecting to be angry but I love how you explained the fact that it is a mental condition. Most people call us crazy hormonal girls and leave it at that. I think sunshine was what Nancy Klebold (Dylan's mom) use to call him when he was little boy. I watched the full interview on Nancy and it was interesting to watch. I am not in anyway trying to emphasize Dylan, but as a mom myself, Nancy's story is an eye opener because you can try to raise your children in a good loving home. In the end you never really know the outcome.

I have a hate-love relationship with the true crime community. I am very interested in the phsychology behind the murderers, their motives, how their childhood affected them and such. But the first time I got invested in a certain murderer (I made studies about different serial killers when I first entered the tcc, one of my first studies were about Jeffrey Dahmer) I was met with disgusting, uncalled photos of corpses and extreme gore. It really scarred me as a kid and I’d like if more people added warnings when they were going to post stuff like that, even if people are used to seeing it it is very mentally scarring when it’s the first time seeing stuff like that. It kinda feels like the tcc doesn’t care about stuff like that.
