i bought one last October for my wood chisels to keep them sharp after i had them free of real buggered edges now i will be more careful with the edges now great tool
Thanks .. I use a magnetic hold down which acts as a heat sink ... one word of advice is change the angle from one grit to the next .. that way you can tell that you have gone through the entire grit before moving on to the next .. I will look into the Work Smart and give them a review on my channel as well ...
That slotted wheel is so neat!
I have looked at sharpening systems on and off over the last few years. Your review was short, informative and useful. Next year is my goal to get something. Thank you for the video and opinion. - Annie
+SuperYtviewer You're welcome Annie!
Very good! Thank you.
You can make disks from MDF to use in place of the glass ones. I watched a video where Stumpy Nubs did this to help expand his options for sharpening with the unit.
I really like this item. Thank you for an opportunity to win one.
Thank you for reviewing this...I have been spending way too much time on a few chisels to try and get the backs flat. Lots of questions for you:
1. Do you ever use any type of water to cool the blade? If so, has the residual water had any affect on the machine?
2. Is there a way to change the angle on the under surface sharping part that you referred to in the video as "the touch up part"? or is it fixed at 25 degrees?
3. Did you happen to get the diamond lapping discs as in your last comment? If so, how have they been performing?
Thanks so much for putting all of the time into this, I have become huge fan of the site and really admire your mission!
I was almost to get rid of mine due to I want my shop to be all hand tools and no power. After spending days on my dimond stones and trying to flatin my irons on the back of sandpaper on glass I dug this out and it cut my time down substantially . One note be carefull to not overheat your tools.
I love mine.
it is only US ?
That is so much faster than trying to use sandpaper on a fixed granite stone.
hope i win
i cant see this video
+Josue Saenz Not sure what's wrong...hope it works for you!

Dude, the quality of your videos is great, but you always seem like you're so nervous in front of the camera! Please relax!
