Rams, Holy cow, hadn’t seen this review until today because I purchased a Givenchy III sealed 4oz/120cc an hour ago in a vintage shop, damn it’s good. Classy, very classy. Paid 20$! You’re the best!
It's getting to the point where once the ram releases a ranked video on a brand or note, I almost immediately know number 1 and 2😂 Another great video. As per usual
Great vid, great house and of course on point as per Rams ranking .Delighted to heat you got the Areej collection on route ,enjoy and well deserved my man salute ✌️🙏👍
Menardo put out Jaipur the same year as Pi. Whatta legend. I own both and always find it interesting the little clusters of inspirations these perfumeurs are working with in certain time periods- in this case benzoin. Jaipur is probably my favorite “cheapie…” Xeryus Rouge is underrated! Glad you included it, great list Ram.
Givenchy Gentleman original formulation, oh my God. What a magnificent smell. Beyond description. You have to experience it. Just had a very nice wet shave, barbershop style, whilst watching this video. Applied both the after shave and eau de toilette (original formulation of course), oh my God was all I could say. What a lucky son of a gun I am. I had this three decades ago, I didn't know it was this great and addictive. This is me in a bottle...I might have said the same thing about Amouage Gold and Jubilation XV, Mouchoir de Monsieur, Heritage 🤣.
Some of the greatest frags of all time you mentioned there... but the vintage bottles of Givenchy Gentleman EDT from 1974 is in my top ten for life 🤌🤌🤌
Hey Ramsey! Please Keep these Top 10 Family Portrait frag ranking going .. They are just too good and useful for perfume collectors like me.... Deeply appreciated ❤❤❤ And btw, I love your new haircut... you look way better now 😝
Great video to have with my evening coffee☕ that haute concentration smelled great from the atomiser, glad you like it so much 😄 What happened with the YSL Pour Homme?
YSL Pour homme was one of those pressurized bottles and when i tried to spray it ... it wouldnt spray but somehow the atomizer got stuck in the spray position and even though it wasnt spraying through the nozzle it was spraying everywhere in air ... i tried to save as much as I could but it was crazy... i only saved about 10ml of all that bottle that was lost 🤦♂️
Awesome review man. Givenchy pour homme was my go to when I was in the Marine Corps in 2002. I need to get my nose on the OG Gentleman I might just go with the new formula
Hey Ram if you like Givenchy Monsieur Haute Concentration, I'd say you check also Armani Eau Pour Homme in vintage format (Cosmair for example). I find them quite similar in style (citrusy chypre oakmoss), blend and quality of materials used. I'll try to sample them at the same time in the next few days, but they do share that bergamote/lemon note to me.
I was digging through the vintage designers last night and found my vintage Pi from 1999. I'm not sure if this ever had much of an orange top and I've never picked up pine but my bottle certainly doesn't have either anymore, if it ever did. This smells very benzoin/almond to me but designer, very designer. It's got that playdough vibe and the closest comparison I can think of (besides Cristobal) would be Jaipur EDP - except I prefer Jaipur by a mile. Always fun seeing if the 🐏 has a review!
Watched the whole video . My SOTD is Givenchy 111 which just has to be worn perhaps once a month, just for the sheer brillance it has over a days wearing. Beautiful summaries here really appreciate it in a mediocre world of current releases
i just moved down to florida and i was visiting my mom the other day...she wears le de by givenchy by the way haha. but at one point she comes out with a perfume bottle all like "i know this bottle looks old and gross but would you have any use for this?" dude its a 70s bottle of No. 19, she literally bought it in paris in the 70s. alot of funk but after a few minutes it smells AMAZING
How did I not know about Monsieur de Givenchy Haute Concentration?? The original (only in vintage, the new stuff is pleasant but extremely weak, I even wore 36 sprays once!) is one of the all time great classic lavender colognes imo.
The haute concentration is everything the original should have been and then some... and this type of fragrance isnt my favorite style and yet I love and appreciate it exactly for what it is 🙏🙏🙏🙏
No need to apologise mate you have a job family ect. We appreciate the time & effort you put into your videos. Thank god there's an alternative from the endless top 10 videos that most fragrance channels pump out. You really care about fragrances & it comes across in your videos
Love Gentleman, i've got a nice amount of vintage bottle that are enough for the rest of my life :P same for Monsieur and for Monsieur high concentration :P Givenchy WAS a really magnificent perfume house... nowadays i thik it is very very goes low with the level
It's weird that I've never tried Pour Homme despite being around Blue Label so much. Tons of people wore that in the mid 2000s. Same era as Lacoste's tootie frootie Red. Parfumo is right. "Style in Play" was actually the ad slogan, not the name of the fragrance. But I'm definitely a fan of the original Pi, Gentlemen Only edt, Very Irresistible for men, Gentleman Reserve Prive, Trouble-Fete and Monsieur de Givenchy. Interesting how LVMH keeps blasting them out. The brand must be selling well.
My vintage Gentleman (tall bottle) with the EMB code arrived today. It just sucks that it leaks from the neck when spritzing. The bottle reeks of piss honey lol
p.s. ive always on the fence about getting xeryus rouge, but if youre saying its interesting i can bet thats a 100% fact lol. ill prob get one now, last time i looked theres still older bottles floating around cheap
Givenchy was my favorite house in the eighties and nineties. They seem to have lost their way the last decade with too many flankers . I still have a 100 ml bottle of Gentleman with a black collar and silver cap .
@@RamseytheRam I’ve even got a 110 ml bottle of the after shave balm with the wrap around label which is going for ridiculous prices on e bay . The balm must be at least 40 yrs old .
The newer formulation of Xeryus I tried about a decade back was flat and lifeless, totally missing that gorgeous fresh green jasmine sambac accord of the original. Not worth it at all
@@RamseytheRam I wouldn't say it's an *essential* pick up, but if you enjoy sparkly, salty, nutty clean vetivers, it's fantastic. It's probably the most interesting "safe" vetiver I've smelled.
Why apologize...no one expects a video every day. As someone once said....LIFE IS A SERIES OF INTERRUPTIONS...unless you are rich from You Tube videos, one needs to support ones family.

Givenchy III is incredible. I have it in 3 concentrations.
Same! Multiple backups
It really is amazing isnt it... i one of the great Chypres of the 70s 🤌🤌🤌
I'll come back and post more here, but having just started to watch, let me guess Ramsey's top two:
1. Gentleman (1974)
2. Insensé
Right on #1 at least 😎

So on the subject of "more more more" have you tried Black Afgano? That's quite a thick rich one you must surely dig
Yes I do like Black Afgano...but I have been liking that perfumers other house more lately, Orto Parisi ... it is 🤌🤌🤌
