I'm a public librarian in charge of buying all the comics/manga for my (fairly large) library system. I can't stress how helpful these videos are for helping me make purchasing decisions and providing useful information (ie. if a series is completed, how many volumes have been released in Japan, etc.) So thank you for taking the time to put these types of videos together!
remember everyone has different taste, If we all liked the same thing it would get boring . But i do wish we can get some reprinted old viz media series back
Kinda surprised to hear other people besides me are hyped for Hirayasumi, its probably my favourite slice of life besides march comes in like a lion where it just feels super grounded and their daily antics are just amazing.
I saw that they were leaked but I waited to watch your video commenting on everything. I love the comments under the titles! Please keep that up!! Thanks for the video.
Okay I’ve heard great things about Hirayasumi so I’m pumped to hear about that! (Gives me hope that they’ll release Yugami-kun Doesn’t Have Any Friends someday). GoGo Monster is also a welcome announcement.
Cipher Academy has not been cancelled yet chapter 46 releases this upcoming sunday 10/29. Its gotten a few color pages too so i dont think its ending any time soon but i could be wrong
I can’t wait to be next summer now !!! Hirayasumi of course !!! Fool Night as well, seems great. Happy to have Haikyu in 3 in 1, the quality is bad but the price great. I would have prefer a box set but this is ok, I’ll buy it. Battle Royale enforcers why not, I’ll try. “I wanna do bad things with you”, I’m not sure about it but this is a weekly shonen Sunday so… I don’t know why but I will try “ You and I are polar opposite”… Yep pretty good stuff from viz !
I'm currently enjoying reading "You and I Are Polar Opposites", so that's something I'll probably buy once it's release. I have not read or watched Haikyu so I'll buy the 3 in 1.
such a surprise to find out that Gogo Monster is apparently a hard to fine volume since it's avilable at my local library that doesnt have that good of a manga collection tho it does have a few 10+ year old one shots. guess i got lucky (:
do you think theres any possibility of the manga "Air Gear" getting reprinted by VIZ?? im really new to the whole OOP manga community and give up on looking for the manga since i cannot for the life of me find any nice condition ones LOL
I laughed out loud when you said that Ed at Denpa was excited to have a Shinzo work available to the public first, cause their delays are the worst. I wouldn't be surprised if we got Holiday Junction in late 2025. But anyway, I wasn't super hyped about these announcements, which is totally fine. However, I'm a huge Haikyu!! fan. Funnily enough, Haikyu!!'s release in July of 2016 was what got me started into this rabbit hole of manga collecting (I'm 1,200 books in 7 years later). So I'll definitely check out the Haikyu!! 3in1s when I see them at Barnes and Noble. I'm hoping for them to have interesting covers and spines. I doubt they'll be a larger trim like the Kodansha 3in1s, but that's okay. And I'm interested in Hirayasumi, cause I'm a huge fan of slice of life manga/anime. I also appreciate that you acknowledged those of us who don't care for Junji Ito's works, they're just not for me. I'm looking forward to having other manga creators works published once we're caught up with Ito. I don't mind when the announcements aren't the best every time (for me), cause I'm reading like 20 to 30 different series online... I would go broke if they all got physical releases lol.
Late comment, but super excited for Hirayasumi by Keigo! Been reading his stuff in French and I can't wait for his Tokyo Alien Bros (slice of life comedy) and Mauvais Herbe (Bad Grass? - an emotional drama miniseries) to get an English release.
I was also so confused, I remember reading that it ranked fourth in the 2023 Next Manga Award (in the print manga category) and now I’m hearing that it was cancelled haha. :) I buy and read a lot of digital volumes so even though I prefer physical I’ll take digital over nothing. I just wish I actually owned them when buying digitally but as of right now it’s more like renting indefinitely. Since they can remove it whenever they want. :(
@omnibuscollector Yeah, I know, that's why I'm hoping the Netflix anime does well and enough interest is shown for it to get Kazushi Hagiwara to finish it!! It's just wishful thinking on my part, and odds are that it won't happen at this point, but I still hope for it to happen all the same.
That's a shame first earth child and now super smartphone is going digital I wanted to physically own them for my manga library because I really enjoyed them on the shonen jump app and I am happy to hear about haikyu I technically already own the whole series couple of years ago but unfortunately my eBay purchase was all bootleg so I am happy that I can own the 3 in 1 to replace my bootleg
Still disappointed by viz media yet again I still want a bastard reprint a new hardcover and I want a English release by viz like Beelzebub and rokudenashi Blues. Or a new reprint of Gintama and Saint Seiya. If I were the president of viz media of manga English release I will give the fans what they want
@@emocobra666 no, there’s interest internally (on the Japanese side) in both that series and Shibatarian. Even if they do go digital that doesn’t mean it can’t later go physical (I.e, mission yozakura family)
@@williamdyer5086 some new series that don’t have publication in the west like kengan ashura for one example (it’s just screaming viz signature release I know it’s ok comixkey) or more deluxe editions or box set announcements
I agree with you but at the same time I wonder what else there is for them to license that would be interesting (from non-Kodansha titles cuz those will just go to Kodansha)? Kingdom ain’t happening, Zatch Bell may happen but probably not at Viz and The Climber will probably go to Dark Horse. The only things that I feel like would get me excited from them personally are Ao Ashi, Basara reprints, Takemitsuzamurai and more Urasawa titles
@@TopShonenRanks I'm waiting for Basara reprints since they are listed as expecting more on Rightstuf which if they weren't being reprinted at some point they wouldn't be there. I feel like there's plenty of manga that could be licensed even if it's old, oh well there's always next times release I guess.
@@ArisatheDawn I think Basara is in a weird place right now because Viz still holds the rights to it, releasing it on the Viz app subscription, but about half of the volumes aren’t even listed on Simon and Schuster anymore (a good sign that they’re OOP) and only the ones that were still listed on S&S were on RightStuf as “Out of Stock, Expecting More”. All that being said, Viz is reprinting things like GoGo Monster which were once OOP and now the Viz app has probably brought more attention to Basara (coupled with Yumi Tamura’s Do Not Say Mystery licensed by Seven Seas) so they could be in talks to reprint the volumes in a new format, but we may not see the results to those agreements for a year or two (assuming they are in talks to reprint them)

Hirayasumi fuck fucking yes!!!!!!!!!! love the manga! so glad its getting an English release
Hopefully ghibli does more film comics, I would like a all in one spirited away hardcover
They’ve already done them for a good number of Miyazaki’s films, just a matter of hoping this one sells well enough for VIZ to do more.
@@omnibuscollectorI just saw them,ur right, but I like the sound of a all in one edition and thank God for the gogo monster reprint

Looking to get the sxf anime guide. I've never bought anime guides or data books before so this should be interesting.
I could be wrong, but I don’t think cipher academy has been canceled yet.
I misspoke on that one because I was in a rush to wrap up the vid.

No, but at this point I honestly think it’s more likely for the licensed to be rescued elsewhere (like seven seas) than to be back at VIZ

The 45 volume count is hard for a box set, probably the reason why haikyu hasn't gotten one yet or they should split it like bleach box ser 1 and 2
I thought that point was a given so I decided to omit stating it would be two boxes.
I’m shocked no shounen jump titles
I like the 3-in-1 books and am excited to try Haikyu.
will get star wars visions and hirayasumi
