Setting a small rivet on the starter can make this so much easier, on 1/8 inch lace I use a tiny bit of thread to hold it, but a dot of glue would work. I use the same method to end it. But that’s my style. I like the look of a rivet.

I'm having trouble. I get the braiding, that's fairly easy. But I'm using 1/8" tandy lace, and my braid isn't tight. Trying to make a stampede string but the leather isn't co-operating. Would it be better to wet the lace so it is more pliable?

can you skive the edges so the strip edges lay flatter or would that be overkill? cheers
