I'm curious about the cleaning method required for powder replacement. hose or nozzle. Is it possible to cleanly remove powder left on pipes and hoses?
My experience with the Columbia Coatings equipment was the same, heavy on the edges thin in the middle (hyper smooth 03 for me). I've been considering upgrading to the Electron because I've been doing more and more stuff with farraday areas, you've had the Electron for a year now would you still recommend it? Are color changes an issue? I've never used more than 2 pounds of a color before needing to change. Thanks for uploading this and sharing your initial impressions.
I haven’t had any issues with it at all. Color changes are less than 5 minutes. Take apart the gun and spray it out, blow the feed hose out from both ends a few times, and then the main tube and all that. Takes no real time at all.
If you buy from Dan at PowderFinishingEquipment, tell him Chris from First Flite Powder Coating sent you. I don’t get anything from him, but I’ve sent a few people his way.
Honestly, it’s enough in the short term, but I need more. I have a Redline media blast cabinet with a dust collector built in. All I did was “T” off that, use a couple of blast gates to isolate the booth from the cabinet, and that’s it. It works, but I need more air flow. That’s the next thing I’m going to upgrade.
I’m not a distributor or anything. I purchased from Dan at Right Now Powder Coating. He’s been very helpful and I’m sure he would be happy to help you.
Just ordered mine yesterday, can't wait to get mine. Thanks for your review

Hi Chris. I was wondering about your dust collection system? I see the ducting removing the powder from the booth.
