Don't listen to people putting negative SHOUTING comments, getting all upset whether the is a MAYER version or a HENDRIX version. The reality is they are/were obviously both exceptional players and certainly better than anyone who is getting angry at the free content someone is nice enough to post on youtube. Excellent playing from you and thanks.
I know this us old but i hope you never take this down because its the best version imho of this song to my ears. Im doing my best to learn and play it as you teach it. Thank you so much for posting these. Your take, tone and patience to teach this really shows your passion and gift! Thanks again for sharing
this kid is a better teacher than most youtube hot shots. he has the gift of tutoring. thank you tim-oliver!
Sad you no longer publish stuff because you're a pretty good teacher. What you show here is better than some high rank youtube guitar stars :)
All the best wherever you are !
You have got the golden touch dude, the feel in your playing is amazing
Perfect tone. So many don't understand the use of a room and reverb thereof .
Thank you. I've been looking for a way back into playing some Hendrix music for a long time.
THE BEST Bold Is Love tutorial for Mayer’s live version out there. Absolutely amazing. I had the back bones to the song but could never find the detailed stuff until I stumbled upon your tutorial. Awesome work, thanks!
Hey man, we have similar styles and tastes but you've enlightened me to the depths of this song! Fucking rock on brother! Not often I see a fellow youth with a love for Jimi, SRV and Mayer.
48 year old Hendrix fanatic here since the age of twelve. Great video. It's great to see young people get it. When I was your age I thought this was unplayable except by the master himself. Thank you for sharing.
@David M. 13 Thanks for your reply, but I was speaking of myself not Jimi. Apologies for any confusion.
I really enjoyed this lesson ! I learned this song off an Eric Johnson DVD years back but I wanted to re-learn this song and this lesson really put me in the right direction ! Went hard with my strat on these Hendrix vibes a few hours straight!!! Awesome lesson man. Thanks 🙏👍👍👌❤️
Dude, what a great lesson, thank you so much!!!, Great tone, great playing!!!
idk why you stop posting guitar lessons but you are a great teacher, you didnt just make a video that says "play like that" you're saying "you can play like that and can also do this if you like" youre approach is a masterpiece for begginers because youre helping them playing like hendrix but not to be like hendrix, thats awesome because helps them find themselvs. good work
sorry if its hard to understand, english is not my first language (hi from brasil)
Someone as young as you, Has the patience of Job!!! To NOT ONLY play, but, TEACH!!!!
......You Are Appreciated!
( Merry Christmas)😎
Well done! Axis is my favorite Jimi album, and Bold As Love is one my faves to play.
Me “ is this true “
The axis “ yeah “
Amazing teacher !! no bullshit just awesome knowledge at a nice fast speed so its not boring !!
Love your phrasing. Good stuff!
Hendrix lives on in the younger generation.....for ever.....Thanks...
Awesome video man!! One of the best ones online. Don't mind the dislikes and negative comments. Rock on brother!
Excellent lesson - thank you for sharing! Tone is on point. :)
I'm Trying To Get There Man !!!!! Your Playing Is Great !!!!! Thank's 4 Your Help
Really nice lesson! Thanks for sharing it. I learned a lot!
Totally excellent. I just wish I could keep up with you. Could take me months of practice !
Awesome man. Thanks
The Tommy Bolin resemblance is at least worth mentioning. Great work, brother.
Nice lesson and playing!
Awesome playing and lesson! Do you have any tips on how you got that tone?
Love your attitude pedagogically speaking, LOL : But it's true, freedom
BTW: I love your "basic Hendrix stuff" ;-) - it took me quite a long time to get into that basic stuff :-)
best version
The tone !!!!
Tim-oliver it is great to see young guys keeping the Jimi torch alive......very great lesson and thank you for helping everyone. If you're up for a challenge... there is little known tune by Hendrix called Country blues which I think is a complete Jimi lesson in one tune.......try that as a lesson......thank you!!!
Ever thought of doing peter gunn.If you can master that one and maybe captain coconut...or anything on crash landing and if you put tabs up...be awesome.jam on well done.
Crazy guitar exp. thanks mate!
Super lesson, zehr gut!
it is pretty nice. Seems more a mayer version. Please listen Jimy Hendrix instrumental bold as love version, check on the internet. When to learn the solo? Can You please explain?
great lesson. But can you share the amp settings?
nice lesson
you break down the parts well, however it's the rhythm which is difficult to master, bought an electric 2 months ago and still can't get this musical (also the first song I tried to learn for electric).
great videos dude discovered your channel yesterday by the moving on getting over lesson :)
Thanks, man, glad that you´re a part of the growing community :)
Great tutorial!!!
Excellent
I like that your not arrogant
Dude you're amazing man. Thanks a lot for the vid. PS you sound like max verstappen. Keep it cool man. Thanks again bruv
Great! Thanks!
Great content!
Thank you :)
Where did you get that cool hoodie?
Are those stock pickups? Sounds like the Custom Shop 69s. Awesome lesson brother🎸🎶
hey can you do a cover of this song pls
Another excellent video! Thank you. I'm surprised you've only been playing for 4.5 years! I've watched your jam session video and it appears you have a very good grasp on blues improv. Have you studied guitar theory? If so, what was your approach on how you learned? I ask because I want to begin to improv jam over backing tracks but lack the theory knowledge on where/how to play over chord progressions.
Cool to hear and thanks for watching :)
It's really hard to explain in a short comment, but yes, I've studied theory, but I wouldn't say that it helped me too much with my soloing. I think it's just experience and listening that makes you better, with or without theory!
But I'd be happy to help you out with, I still have some free slots for skype guitar lessons if you're interested!
Hope this insight helps :)
Tim-Oliver Bartholomé still have the slots? 😀
Dude you're awesome, your tutorials are the best I swear. How long you been playing?
Thanks dude, glad I can help :)
I have been playing for 4 and a half years now!
Hey can you do tutorial guitar I love my parents by buckethead thnks
More vids pls
What amp are you playing through? Great tone and playing!
What kind of pick ups in that strat?
4:04
4:46
6:12
8:47
9:13
Thks for the lesson.
Where are u from?
You're welcome! I'm from Germany :)
Nice man! Any tips for Reverb/Delay settings? :) yours is tight bro!
Keep it nice and tight, I guess...not too much. Also love the reverb that comes from good amps, not really into most of the reverb pedals!
Thanks for watching :)
great job, dud! thx a lot! is it E tuning?
hes playing in e, hendrix tuned down a half step
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Man Idk how you get that tone..
I will try to explain it :)
First you need a decent guitar, the one I have is just the love of my life, I was lucky to get exactly this one. Second you want a good overdrive pedal, one that distorts when you play hard and stays clean when you play soft. But the by far most important part are your fingers, I´d say that 70% of someones playing comes from the fingers, Jimi and John sound good on basically everything haha
My amp at home is not the best and I´m also always surprised with what I get out of it :D
Hope it helps!
Tim-Oliver Bartholomé I feel the same with my amp and guitar. Love them and get amazing tone on clean channels. But when I turn on my distortion pedal as a boost it ruins the sound :/ Do you recommend any good overdrive pedals? Thanks
What OD are you playing?
Always keep the drive relatively low and go up with the volume. Except for when you have a transistor amplifier. Tube amps should be pushed through the volume and not the drive because the drive comes from the tubes. Transistor amps can have drive and volume on the same level.
I´d definitely recommend either just a normal Tube Screamer, best one of the older models, or, which is what I am playing but it´s a bit expensive, a Royal Blue Overdrive by Mad Professor.
I found it through Matt Schofield and it´s my favorite OD ever, it responds perfectly to your playing dynamics!
Yeah, it´s a Line 6 haha
I don´t know, mine sounds good even if I run the clean channel, it could be my fingers and my awesome guitar.
What guitar are you playing?
jade salari Dude it can be so many variables. His fingers, the pickup height, the tone knob settings (a millimeter is a huge difference), his bass and treble responding to eachother, his pick. It could be anything, unfortunately ;)
One of the best I’ve seen. Just a bit too much reverb. Cheers
are you tune to E flat?
What guitar do you got, is it a classic player 60?
Hey Dude, it´s a John Mayer signature Strat :)!
I think I love you not sure tho
No way had he been playing for 4.5 years
why? playing for 1 year and half and have no problem to do this kind of things
baptiste giudicelli upload a video then
No problem
baptiste giudicelli I’ve also only been playing about a year and a half, and this stuff really isn’t that bad tbh, in fact I can play quite a few Hendrix songs so idk why this other guy finds it so surprising he’s only been playing a few years
Keith Griffiths put a video up.. let’s see
too much John Mayer 😆
6:12
17:19
23:24
23:41
The excess reverb is too distracting.
Might be good but I can't hear it.
Your an idiot.
Good job here man but, I can't believe you don't tune down like Jimi and the rest of the free world! Good vibe though you get a one time pass
Too much gain. But good.
DONT EVER say this is a Jimi Hendrix Bold As Love tutorial. This is certainly not Jimis beautiful song but rather John Mayers version that has been tainted and screwed up by Mayer. No disrespect on your playing. Just wanted to clear that up
I respect that you share your opinion and not just leave a dislike and disappear again.
I will clarify that for the next time.
Thank you!
He improvs as well as any living guitarist and he's not scared to take risks or make mistakes either, if you care to check out some live videos. Love the constant internet idiots who always have to rank everything. Your comment is like saying you'll take Clapton seriously when he's a good as Robert Johnson. Jesus kid grow up and learn some context. There's whole world outside your door if you care to take a peek outside ;)
Pedro Gunderson I know, right? because i'm pretty sure he can't sleep right now thinkin' about how you can't take his playing seriouslly.
Midnights & Mornings Let's see your improved Bold as love version big boy!, i'm Pretty sure you can play it way better than John does.
Lol another salty chode with no skills 🤣
