  • Back in 2019 I played The Witness for the first time, and that was a very unique and amazing experience - it's in my personal top five puzzle games of all time. I haven't touched the game since then, and I decided it was time to play through it again. This time, however, I'm using a mod that randomizes (almost) every puzzle in the game, so it will feel like a fresh new game. In this playthrough I'm using the "Advanced" difficulty; therefore, the puzzles here will be a bit more challenging than in the original game. I will only be doing the line puzzles this time around - no environmental puzzles, audio logs, or movie watching.
The randomizer mod can be downloaded here: github.com/sigma144/witness-r...
You wake up, alone, on a strange island full of puzzles that will challenge and surprise you.
You don't remember who you are, and you don't remember how you got here, but there's one thing you can do: explore the island in hope of discovering clues, regaining your memory, and somehow finding your way home.
The Witness is a single-player game in an open world with dozens of locations to explore and over 500 puzzles. This game respects you as an intelligent player and it treats your time as precious. There's no filler; each of those puzzles brings its own new idea into the mix. So, this is a game full of ideas.

I liked the witness line puzzles, but I never got the hype about the environmental puzzles. There just there. Turning on water fountains isn’t really that interesting of a reason to find them all to me. And someday I will need to try the challenge. But maybe I should replay this soon
