“I’ve never tried this before but I’m here so why not”
He is SO TALENTED HOW
Ben Rector is like a fine wine. He just keeps on getting better with age. He is probably one of the least recognized yet premier singer-songwriters of our time. I wish him the best possible success in all his endeavors. He deserves it!
Well said. So honest, So cool.
It’s crazy when you find such a unique artist that is so passionate about what is obvious he loves-music. You can see he just feels it in his bones and his soul is so evident in his work! Love following such a talented musician!
twelve strings...TWELVE...good lord the man is talented.
You know it's a great song when it sounds amazing with a full band and stripped back with just a guitar or piano
He's one of the best musicians in my life
I am a huge fan of all of these. The vocals on Sometimes are just ridiculous.
His 12 string skills are insanely good!
Absolutely love this. LOVE IT
Oh my goodness, I love! This makes me so wish there was an acoustic album! So incredibly talented. Great video - loved the giggles in the commentary, too. 😂
Love these raw acoustic versions. Shows how truly amazing of an artist you are!
So stinking excited to see the Magic tour live next week in Seattle! Forever and ever MY FAVORITE!!
Can’t wait to see Ben for the 7th (???) time at the Dallas stop of his tour!!!
DID NOT EXPECT TO LIKE AN ACOUSTIC VERSION OF DRIVE THAT MUCH. Like, what? The drums were so good on the album. Good songs hold up I guess.
URGH so so good.
so glad i came across this 🤍 so much talent!!!!!
Bravo on your Magical Talents.
Makes me extra sad you’re not touring in CA ): incredible hearing these live with all the passion and perfect vocals
Kyrah Brave, don't worry he'll come to CA sometime after the new year! 😊
Hey! We high-fived in that convertible indoor-outdoor theater in Dallas! :) Come back anytime soon!
Love it!!
Great stuff as usual. I'm excited for your someday return to Colorado. Unless something bad happened last time you were like you ran out of air in the middle of a set or something like that. In which case I'll gladly head some place else to see your next gig out west. Keep making the tunes dude.
You're so stinking GOOD BEN
7:05 Ben Rector is Human after all! haha
Literally couldn’t get through any of these songs without ads interrupting…?
where’s extraordinary magic?🤩
harley nockels you won’t see it behind you but I see it I see it I sure I do I see extraordinary magic in you
like your self
Can anybody tell what tuning his guitar is in?
I wanted to know too. Been sitting here for hours copying his fingers but its completely off. It sounds like a C F G but it looks like he's playing a Db making this open C type chord. perhaps his guitar is tuned down a half step?
You see 12 strings tuned down half a step to a whole step to relieve tension on the neck. That may be it....
@@jtgrace10 The base line progression in the verse is C-E-F-G. I can't figure out the fingering either though :)
EDIT: Given that he goes from open to 2nd fret to 3rd fret for the C-E-F part on the 6th string, one can assume that the guitar is tuned down by a whole step. Or at least we know that the 6th string is tuned to D.
EDIT2: The guitar is downtuned by a whole step with the 1st string downtuned by an additional step, ie D-G-C-F-A-C. With him constantly holding down the 3rd fret on the 2nd string, you get that nice C-C on the first two strings.
