  • Neuromodulators such as Botox are used to treat the muscle that scrunches up the chin and causes dimpling or the orange skin. If the injection is put in the wrong place, it will affect your smile.

I like having the depressor muscle boxtoxed very lightly. The corners of my mouth will go from being in a downward position to a neutral position giving me a more pleasant resting face. It did not impair my smile. I really love it.

That's the DOA muscles, the depressed.. not the DLI ... Which is what she referred to.
DOA for corners of the mouth is a fantastic idea ! I'm trying tomorrow for the first time.

So how is the injection for orange peau done the correct way? Or what is the wrong way that causes the crooked smile? Thanks so much ❤

These are so informative but unless I am coming to you for injections, it only scares me that the doc here may do it wrong! Do you ever come to the Bay area?!

i was already partially paralyzed on the right side of my face due to a facial neuroma but my idiot botox injector injected a tiny bit into the pink section you are showing to help reduce wrinkles. It is now 19 months later and I am still more paralyzed from this!! never thought Id say I wish to be back to my normal paralyzed face. why is it lasting so long?

This is so sad. Happened to me but didn’t last that long.. Unfortunately though it’s in my graduation photos .. 😢 My smile was strange

Yes. I went to fix synkenisis (involuntary facial movements after having lomg term bells palsy)... she injected that area and some other areas, and it actually made my face feel and look worse.
It relaxed my neck muscles, but affected side feels weak and smile looks more stupid than it did. Can't wait for it to get out my system. I really hope it does and hasnt done permanent damage. Even my eye looks "tighter" than it did before. I actually want my old crooked smile back.

Oh no! I hope you get a better injector that understands muscles better. Are you in California?
