Marie Claire Nigeria presents 'She Talks' in collaboration with Gatefield

In our debut episode of #SheTalks, we’re highlighting the price Nigeria pays for excluding its women in politics.
It’s no news that Nigeria is suffering from a rapidly declining underrepresentation of women in its politics.
In the 64 years since Nigeria’s founding, we have yet to see a woman ascend to the role of president, prime minister, or military ruler. Only two women have served as governor under peculiar circumstances.
In the National Assembly, the representation of women falls below 5%.
In the first opinion article of our brand new campaign, ‘She Talks’, we delve into the numbers regarding the underrepresentation of women, the factors affecting the success of women in politics, and, more importantly, the costs that the nation bears as a result.
