On behalf of the rest of the viewers, thank you for growing such a big garden so we can learn. I understand y'all aint from Texas and I won't hold that against you but you Georgia boys are alright, alright, alright! 😉🖒
Just got my HOSS 20-20-20 and just now finished feeding my watermelons and okra. I know, it's late for both, but I'm sure with the weekly feeding of the HOSS, I'll start catching up! Thanks guys!!
I ordered some organic sodium (chilean) nitrate from y'all back in the spring, it was my first time using sodium nitrate, and it worked absolute magic on my fruit trees as well as other heavy feeders like my squash. Easy to apply, clean, and almost instant results. Great stuff!
Travis, your a great teacher. Your calm and precise. We’ve been fertilizing on top of the soil...then watering it in. Is this kind of the same idea? Or do you find it’s better to fully dissolve the fertilizer in the water?
I just purchased your products & have tomatoes in 4 5gal. buckets & was looking to see how much fertilizer & micro-boost to mix & how much to add to each plant.
Enjoy your videos. They are very helpful to us backyard farmers. I planted 3 different cucumbers this year. Pickle Bush, Boston Pickling and Straight 8’s. In our heat (southwest Oklahoma), the leaves are wilting some in late afternoon. But they all come out of it when they get shade later in the evening. Except the Straight 8’s. Those leaves start wilting early in the day and just barely come out of it in late evening. I water them daily at the base of the plant, and always early am. I have been harvesting pickling cucumbers for a while. I have some blooms, but no fruit even showing on the slicers. Any suggestions? Thank you for your time!
Hoss Tools I went out and checked to find very few blooms on that plant now. And what there are, are blooming so close to the stems that it’s impossible to tell (for me). I took some photos but I don’t think I can attach them to this comment. BTW, these seeds are several years old. So are the Boston Picking seeds and they are doing great.
If I have already used a granular fertilize when planting would I just use the Microboost weekly? Currently I am using a water soluble weekly -Miracle Gro for vegetables.
Thank you Travis! Love your videos..I have bought 4 of your HOSS tshirts..They are fabulous! So soft and wash up amazing..wrinkle free..Just nice, nice quality!
We do carry organic fertilizers, but the ones mentioned in this video are not organic. Organic fertilizers are great, but act much slower. They should be applied prior to planting. Most organic fertilizers won't do much for the plant once it is growing.
Drip tape is not the same as soaker hose. Drip tape has equally spaced emitters along the tape. Ours has emitters every 12". It can be buried up to 6" deep.
Thanks for the good info! I’m from the northeast, so when I hear someone talking with that hillbilly southern accent, the only time I believe what they are saying is when they are talking about gardening. Other than gardening, I usually write people off as idiots when they have that accent. It’s a personal fault, just being honest. Thanks again, hoss!

I’ll Second that!

The best way to fertilize sunflowers in California is to first cut them off at soil level. Then put them on the table in a jar. 😂
Naked Hog I’d need a chainsaw to cut them down...and a huge jar!🌻
It just works faster if it’s already dissolved. But either way works.
😂
Great video I hand water my garden and will be getting some of your ferts to try thanks
We'll be here when you need us!

Recommend to follow directions on bag. If you have trouble locating them call our customer service and they can answer for you.
thank you so much. Fertilizing today.
Wonderful!
BOOOM!
This channel is great 👍
Thanks Sonny!

See if you have mostly male blooms or female blooms. The female flower has a tiny little cucumber attached to it.

I'd highly recommend trying Max Pack (hosstools.com/product/max-pack-cucumber/) next year -- best pickling variety we've ever grown.
Hoss Tools thank you, I will!
Well we certainly need to step our game up here lol
Another great video! Need to sell a t-shirt that says "alright alright alright" with the Hoss logo. Another revenue stream😃

@@gardeningwithhoss way ahead of me, thanks for the link👍
Did you say? How often do you do the spoon feeding? I’m just going to be growing a basic smallish veggie garden.
Every two weeks is a good schedule.
If I have already used a granular fertilize when planting would I just use the Microboost weekly? Currently I am using a water soluble weekly -Miracle Gro for vegetables.
Every two weeks should be sufficient on the MicroBoost.
Thank you Travis! Love your videos..I have bought 4 of your HOSS tshirts..They are fabulous! So soft and wash up amazing..wrinkle free..Just nice, nice quality!
Glad you like the shirts!
Your single tine cultivator is out of stock. Any idea when you’ll have it again?
I wish I knew. Every time we get some, they are gone within a day or two. Our manufacturer can't keep up.
Will that mix be a good all around fertilizer? Say for tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and so on.
Yes, we use it on pretty much everything.
Hoss Tools thank you
Is it too late for me to plant my peaches and cream corn and is it too early for me to plant cabbage I'm in middle Louisiana
If you have adequate irrigation, I think you could still get a crop of corn. Definitely too early for cabbage. Wait til late September/early October.
What is the risk of nutrient lockout mixing the 20-20-20 and the Micro boost?
Have not noticed any issues.
Do you know by any chance why my green bean vines are beautiful but no beans?
Could be two things:
1) Too much nitrogen will result in all foliage but not flowers.
2) Beans will tend to "drop blooms" when it gets really hot.
Great video Travis. Do you water before you use liquid fertilizer or do you water afterwards? How long before or after?
Since the fertilizer is dissolved, we usually don't water before or after if we fertilize this way. They get watered whenever we need to water again.
What’s the NPK of microboost?
No N-P-K in the MicroBoost. It's all micronutrients.
How often do you fertilize your corn?
Usually every 2-3 weeks.
Hows the squash going
It's going. We've had quite a bit of rain lately which has made the late-season pest control difficult.
@@gardeningwithhoss but looks like you will get a massive crop mate
Is your fertilizer considered organic
We do carry organic fertilizers, but the ones mentioned in this video are not organic. Organic fertilizers are great, but act much slower. They should be applied prior to planting. Most organic fertilizers won't do much for the plant once it is growing.
Good idea, may just as well use a tubtrug bucket to fertilize instead of a watering can, less cumbersome
Those tubtrugs would work very well for that!
How deep do you plant your drip tape? Is drip tape the same as a soaker hose?
Drip tape is not the same as soaker hose. Drip tape has equally spaced emitters along the tape. Ours has emitters every 12". It can be buried up to 6" deep.

Alan DiNicola yes it is a personal fault...
Sorry you feel that way.
