I haven't actually played this yet, but from what I can tell it looks like Flatout 2 with very few minor adjustments. But that isn't necessarily bad, because Flatout 2 was an INCREDIBLE game! Maybe not to someone who is a hardcore racer gamer (who enjoy racing games that go into alot of detail such as Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport), but this game is FANTASTIC for the average gamer. That racing is fun and still competitive. A perfect combination competition of skill and destruction!
yes, they originally made UC for the X360, because FO 2 was released only for pc and ps2 and at the time the X360 was the most powerful gaming machine, so they wanted to show, what they really can work out of this game! at the time (2007) it looked pretty awesome... then they decided to release it for PC, and in 2008 there it was... actually yes, it's quite the same, except, the menu has some differences, it has more opponents, and a some more cars... but actually it's the graphics that counts!

Why do people keep saying that the only difference is its HD, it also has improved textures, better particle effects, new different music, a Carnage mode, different unlocking system (Grinder, Insetta and Road King unlocked in Carnage rather than Flatout, Single Events unlocked through career etc), runs on the improved Havoc Physics engine and has 12 people per race instead of 8 (4 new characters).
oh, and it also got a little arcadier in some ways... now it has powerups on derby races... actually i love all flatouts, but the favourite will be the first one!! it's a little more simulationy, what i actually really like, and it hasn't got separate classes, just american muscle derby cars :) love 'em!
this is the first racing game i've seen that has a "speed-distance" showing correct, when i play NFS, i go like 250 khm and it feels like i'm driving 80 km/h , this game on the other hand shows how fast 120 km/h is like in real world
WOW! after 15 over years This still better than the FlatOut 4. I am still loving play this on my PC! Sadly I cant play/connect online or even LAN with my friends, cuz has it the F^^^ GFWL Service and dont allows me to connect in online mode. But anyways this is a great game! 🙂

there is some differences. the biggest change is that there's four new characters, Lewis Duran, Lei Bing, Curtis Wolfe and Jill Richards.
This is my favorite from those 3 games, Split Second is faster, Blur is basically a Mario Kart.
