You're alone and some people may take advantage of you like the taxi driver, some of them are scammer and will try to charge you higher even they are metered taxi, they will not use it. Jujitsu is fun to watch.. my husband was enrolled for jujitsu class in oklahoma city and covid started so we spent 500$ for registration and uniform and he didnt even get to join one class because the gym closed due to lockdown..anyways, its a good exercise! Hope my hubby can start his jujitsu class next year when he finishes his college. Be safe there and Im looking forward for more videos

Hello my friend. My advice to you is to avoid taking taxi not unless if you really have too. Better to take grab and be careful going to a place having narrow streets. Take care and enjoy life.
So brave to go around by yourself. Make friends with the guys you met and ask them to help you go around. These guys seem like decent people. Get the grab app and use it to get around. I saw someone give this advice in the comments. Stay safe Seungha!
For taxi, just install Grab on Google play store and book whenever you need a ride in a taxi. Everyone is using that especially when your in Manila because they gave exact amount of meter pay.

Actually it is common for taxi drivers asking for additional 50 or 100 when there is traffic even for local filipinos not just foreigners. There is also another way of paying on taxi by not using the meter.. When you flag down a taxi you could ask for the "kontrata way of paying" its like you both deal and agree on the same price, its like you say going to makati i give you 200 then the driver negotiates to 300 then you say ok we meet at the middle 250.then you both agree. Ao its fixed 250.

But not all taxi drivers are like him, Most of them are honest and kind especially in Dutirti Administrations. She said that if they'll gonna force you to pay extra amount more than the meter amount then you can tell them that you'll report them to the police or authorities---they'll be nice to you instantly.!😂🤣 That's happening even before the pandemic and the traffic now is less compare last 6 years so she said that it just a pure "cheating". I'm amazed by this young man, even though he always encounter cheating drivers, it doesn't deter him from deciding to stay here in the philippines. I recommend using the Grab application. But pls do be extra careful during the night, crime rate is higher at night esp to foreigners like you,,there are some modus operandi here that some driver has an accomplice that he would pick up somewhere and would suddenly enter the cab beside you and they threaten you with a knife or a gun and rob you. If that happens to you, and I'm praying that it wont, just give your belongings so they wont kill you.
Always use GRAB IF POSSIBLE. TAXIS HAVE WAYS OF CHEATING YOU IF YOU DON'T KNOW YOUR WAY. WHILE GRAB WILL BRING YOU ON THE MENTIONED FARE PRICE WEATHER TRAFFIC OR NOT OR YOU GO DIFFERENT ROUTES

You should try to use the grab car app so that the fare price is standard, taxi's have a tendency to not use meter and thats annoying
But the fare in Grab is already more than the metered fare plus the 50 pesos the driver is asking!
You should think about that.
I know it's safe being cautious, But don't worry to much when doing some things because Filipinos are kind with any foreigners
