I have never had a professional lesson & am just your every day chap attempting recipes to inspire you guys to try too. My Wife Becky (aka Mrs Barry) now joins in on the channel too, we upload 2 recipe videos per week, but some fun is had too on Sunday when it is our Funday where anything goes....including giant foods, mini foods, taste testing foods sent from around the World, kitchen gadget testing and many more. Any requests for recipes / cool stuff you've seen let us know! I try my best to reply to as many comments as possible, but it is hard to as we are busy working on the next video, but please interact with eachother and be respectful :-) #barrylewis

Those sausages are made from beef and horse, you can peel the skin if you want, but isn't necessary. You can serve them with a pre-diner drink (what they are intended for). I like mine with an aged port wine. Best way is take them out of the package, let them rest for around 15 minutes.

Fun fact about the speculoos/speculaas thingy: we Belgians used to say speculoos but our friends in the Netherlands changed it to speculaas bc the suffix 'loos' has quite a negative meaning (whenever you put 'loos' behind a word, it means that it doesn't contain it, e.g. 'harteloos' (heartless) means that someone doesn't have a heart (figuratively)) and some Belgians started using speculaas as well, so that's why we use both :D

They are "dry sausage" a bit like "saucissons" in france.
They are meaty dried sausage that are a bit like jerky.
They are salty and are generally eaten as a snack when you drink beer.
LOTS of cafés and pubs in Belgiym will serve you a small bowl of cubbed cheese with stronger beers, and you can ask for these also.
Its simething you take while enjoying the Apero with friends around a fresh beer on the terrase

The battle between speculoos and speculaas is just the difference between the Belgian version and the Dutch version. The double bar of chocolate is mostly used for baking, not to eat like that (but you can). And "délicieux" is French. Lekker is the Dutch word

Hah, wonderful! I'm Belgian but moved to the UK and it was a delight watching some of my fave stuff. Leonidas is a specialty chocolate shop, expensive too. The whites are my absolute favourite, I buy them in bulk whenever I can. For Speculaas paste you can get in the UK actually, in TESCO you'll find it under the name "Biscoff" (biscuits too) so if you ever fancy some more it's available here :D

The dried pepperoni, or "snakworst", or "Bifi-worst" is actually like the sausage variant of jerky, that's why it's so salty and spicy.

there is actually a difference between speculoos and speculaas. the only difference is that speculoos biscuits have speculoos spice and speculaas doesn't. also speculaas is often a bit softer often while speculoos is often given at sinterklaas. the dinosaur biscuits are also often given to children as a school snack

These tasting vids are great. I love how every person has a vastly different reaction to the same type of thing. You happen to be picky which amuses me, great reactions. Someone like Ashens is also hilsrious cause he is just so stoic. I watch several tubers eat food.. and in my own life am determined to be less picky.ANYWAY.. i just woke up and I tend to get rambly. Great vid Barry.. good fun :)
